If Babcock thinks he can read the Ducks, then he is screwed. We aren't even close to the same team we were in '03. We don't trap anymore, we attack. We only have 4 players on our roster from those playoffs. Giguere, Rob Niedermayer, Pahlsson and McDonald (he was injured and never played, but was a member of the team). It's completely different. Babcock even said that to me when I told him thank you for 2003 during a Pre-Season game here in Tampa. He told me 'You're welcome, but be thanking Carlyle for what you have now and what your team does this season, because it isn't what I did.' Classy guy.

Well, I was just taking that from what I read here. I honestly haven't really followed much of the Detroit series. Not enough to notice the scoring, but I will be starting friday.

I don't know an abundance about the Wings, but I think I've got a grasp on the fact that Datsyuk is more of a big name than Zetterberg for this team, or am I wrong? Teemu is a huge influence on the Ducks. I remember one time we were down by 3 goals after two periods and he said a few things to the team and we came back out and won 5-4 in OT. He's highly valued for the Ducks and he's going to be the first Duck to have his sweater put up in the rafters, deservingly so. Zetterberg is a very talented player, but due to his injuries and 'quiet-ness' in the playoffs, he's going to be ignored somewhat. It's the way it goes. If I'm wrong about my assessment of Dats and Z, then I apologize. I guess I got the two confused....

Not necessarily true. About 90% of the Kings fans I know (and I know A LOT) switched to the Sharks in the playoffs (not what I'd call 'loyal fans' but everyone's got some). Not always loyal. Ducks fans are getting there. It's only taken the Kings what, 40 years now? Give us a little time

I will say it again: IGNORE THE LA TIMES! They wouldn't know hockey if it backhanded them across the face. They cover the Kings, what more need I say? They're all stupid. Read the OC Register if you want info on the Ducks and the REAL, viable opinions.

Are there Red Wings in hockey? No. Are there Maple Leafs in hockey? No. THAT was my point. Don't tell me to do my homework, because I have done it. That pisses me off more than anything else.

Jiggy's upper body is big. He's said it all the time. He wants to catch the puck with the biggest part of his body: His tummy. I've met him several times, he's not a small dude. And they already have measured his equipment.

That can go both ways. What the hell does a 'Red Wing', a Shark, a Maple Leaf, a Panther, Lightning, Sabres, Senators or Kings have to do with hockey? Exactly. And it doesn't matter if I'm new to the sport or not (which I'm not), I know hockey like the back of my hand, and it has nothing to do with whether I'm a Ducks fan or not.

Actually, I'm neither. I've been a Padres fan since I was 2, but I do like the Angels more than the Dodgers, even if I do have their jersey Angels fans hate Dodgers fans and vis-versa. I would also rather swallow a gallon of turpentine than cheer for the Kings, or the Sharks for that matter. SoCal fans are extremely competitive. And we are NEVER laid back. You should see us drive LA and the OC hate each other. Anaheim gets mondo pissed off about being considered part of 'LA' because they're not even in the same county. They sell signs at the Pond...err Honda Center that say 'Anaheim is NOT LA'. The Ducks live in the Kings shadow even though they suck, just because they had Gretzky. It's one giant competition. We hate each other, and we love it. NoCal people are more laid back, SoCal people are fast paced. But you're right, LA will never like the OC and the OC will never like LA. I hate all LA teams. Lakers. Kings. Clippers. Dodgers. I don't like any of them. I'm not from the OC and I've never lived there (can't afford it) I've lived in Fallbrook, San Diego, Riverside County and a few other places around San Diego so I can't say I've felt the full force where I've lived in SoCal. But I lived between San Diego and LA and was only about 45 minutes south of Anaheim, so I was in the middle of it all. It's very heated. I hope that made sense, cuz I'm kinda out of it right now...

San Diego is a good city in certain parts, and La Jolla is considered part of San Diego. My brother was born there, but it still says 'San Diego' on his birth certificate.

But should also prove that I do know what I'm talking about when it comes to him if I like him so much. But, putting aside my like for Jiggy, I can still honestly say his pads are legal.

If you want civilized Ducks talk, you'll have to go to AllDucks.com. disney.com.com and the official Ducks board absolutely sucks. You're not going to fin too many official Ducks fans on there.

Just make sure to keep in mind that not all SoCal fans are like that. Trust me, I know. Being a Ducks fan is one of the hardest thing to do living between San Diego and LA. Not fun. And no all Ducks fans are 'dickf***s' as you have so kindly put. I didn't even know that was a word. I have not been disrespectful. And even if we are down 3-0, I will still partake in this board due to the classiness shown by Wings fans here. I'm not here to troll. I enjoy learning things about other teams and this is a great place to do so

Jiggy is my hero and the reason why I play hockey. The fact that I'm a Ducks fan and have a Giguere avatar shouldn't have that much of an effect. Were his pads in '03 big? Yes. Illegal? No. Because the rules were different. His pads aren't illegal. I've seen them myself. I'm not a homer, especially when it comes to these types of things. While I will defend Jiggy, I wont make stupid comments. It's called color schemes and the designs on the pads are meant to distract players when they come down on the goalie. I could show you pictures of me in my gear and it looks illegal, but I've measured them and they are within NHL parameters.

Well, of course the press is going to be fickle. They have too many teams to cover, but the sports fans aren't. I assure you. The teams are smushed so closely together, no one wants to root for the other's team.

Ok, don't then. The only SoCal teams I like are the Ducks and Padres, so IDK what you're going to stereotype me as. There are several stereotypes, and like I said, I lose track of them all, and quite frankly, I don't care. I'm not cocky, if that's what you're insinuating.

I don't know, because I don't know what is thought of as the 'stereotypical SoCal sports fan'. SoCal gets stereotped for everything, I have trouble remembering all of them.
