And what exactly is it that we SoCal fans act like? You seem to know, so I'd like to know how it is that I act.

I am a goalie, so I can tell by looking at the pads, plus I've seen all of Jiggy's pads right before a game. They're all legal. 11" wide, and probably only 36"-37" tall. His chest pad is perfectly legal, as is his blocker and glove. And someone said they're 'Barely Legal.' Legal is legal. Also, take into account that Jiggy uses WHITE equipment, in comparison to 90% of other NHL goalies. He uses them because it makes him LOOK bigger. As a girl, I know that white tends to make you look larger, especially when your standing in front of a white background. Also, you have to take into account the type of game they play. Brodeur is a stand up goalie, so he wears way less padding so that he can flail around easier. Jiggy wears more padding so that he can take up more of the net with his body, due to his butterfly style, but they're both legal. And if you're going to tell me that he doesn't need as much padding as he's wearing, even if it is legal, why don't YOU get in front of a frozen piece of vulcanized rubber flying at car speeds with little padding and tell me how it feels? Jiggy isn't a small dude either. 6'1" 201 lbs. That's big enough. In fact, he has to be bigger than that. I have a picture with him and he makes me look pretty small, and I'm 5'8". It's all about how the pads look. Thats why they have pretty designs Wearing a goalie helmet for so long and sweating underneath it that much can make you lose your hair. I just hope wearing a bandana saves mine

His wife hated it in Edmo. The reporter thing was started by bitter fans.- 477 replies

Niedermayer is a freak of nature. He only needs about 30 seconds to recouperate and get back out there. Even Lidstrom has said so. People finish checks on him all the time. I'm not saying he never gets worn down, but it wasn't a problem against a much tougher Calgary team last season or during the regular season. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I don't take part in disney.com or the official message board. No thank you....

Well, I am glad! And I look forward to this series. It should be a great one If your plan is to tire out Scott Niedermayer, then all I can do is wish you luck with that one.

When the Sharks and Kings aren't playing, then the Ducks have fans

Why thank you! I'm trying to be a good example and prove that not all Ducks fans are jerks -
Well, I'm an 11th grade female, is that still ok? I'm here for damage control and made a thread on my home Ducks site telling people who come over here to grow up. I hope they listen, and I apologize for their behavior

We have 17,174+ fans during the regular season, none of which are SJ or LA fans. It's an un-written rule that you don't cheer for each others teams. And people in Anaheim don't really tailgate. We all go down to Carl's Jr. or Panda Express before the games. And a lot of the fans have to get through all that traffic after they get off work. It isn't easy. I don't think you're being quite fair. Anaheim isn't going to be as loud as Detroit. We have the Angels a block away from here, so they get a lot of attention. We are loud occassionally. Be patient, some of our fans can't cheer and watch the game at the same time -
Wow. I seriously hope you aren't calling Beauchemin better than Lidstrom. I love the guy, but Lidstrom is phenomonal. I took will take Giguere, but that's cuz he's my favorite. After Niedermayer, Pronger and Beauchemin? O'Donnel isn't bad and neither is Huskins And we aren't like the Sharks. Our 4th line right now may have had 3 goals between the three of them all regular season Two different teams, trust me. Please, do not use these rude and over-zealous Duck fans as your example. I assure you, 90% of us are nothing like this.

Can I be the voice of reason for Ducks fans without being bashed? For starters, not ALL Ducks fans are like what you are describing, and we act all 'cocky' or whatever because this is how you treat us. We get told all the time how stupid we are and how we know nothing of hockey just because we live in SoCal. I was born in San Diego and have lived in SoCal for 9 of my 16 years of existence, and there are things that I have corrected Mr. Jay Feaster (Lightning GM) on about hockey. It doesn't matter where you're from. In SoCal, it's hot (duh) so hockey doesn't get much love. The rinks are hard to come by and the ice is usually very crappy, plus the cost is outrageous. I know this because I played hockey in SoCal, and all I could get into was roller. Let me make another point. The Los Angeles Times covers the LA KINGS during the regular season. They don't know crap about hockey. Read the OC Register if you want the real deal on the Ducks. LA and Anaheim are COMPLETELY different. Orange County - LA County. Not the same at all. It has nothing to do with Hollywood, so don't go there You will not find me on this board making predictions of any sort, because I think that's stupid. I wouldn't be suprised if this series goes to 6 or 7 games. Do I think Anaheim has the upperhand? Yes. Do I think they'll demolish Detroit? Heavens no. Anaheim is MUCH more physical than SJ. You can't really compare us to them. They're big, but they don't use their bodies as much as we do. Anaheim can play any type of game, but I don't think that we're going to murder the Wings like we did in '03. Let's drop the stereotyping on both sides and admit that each side has bandwagoners and true fans. It doesn't matter where you're from, it matters if you're a fan of the sport. And I can assure you, NO ONE in LA is rooting for Anaheim, neither anyone in SJ. It's a race between the three teams to see who gets the first cup in California. Anaheim is on their own in Cali, trust me. I hope that extinguishes some of the fire and clears a few things up, because not ALL Ducks fans are cocky jerks, in fact, most aren't. And not all Wings fans are the jerks who sat behind me during my first ever hockey game cussing and throwing stuff at me. Let's hope for a good, clean series Go Ducks!

Ok, I'm a diehard Ducks fan and I love both Niedermayers, but that picture made me laugh SO hard I had tears in my eyes. That is freaking hilarious! And why all the hating on Joey DiPenta? I'm pretty sure he's engaged to a woman. And Pronger left Edmo cuz his wife hated it there. This should be a fun series.....great pics- 477 replies
