Trying to scare up a couple of tickets for tonight's game
hockeymom95 replied to Bad Vlad Forever's topic in General
Go over to the bar on Katella directly across the street from the Pond (and for the life of me I can't remember the name!!) Last year during the WCF with Edmonton (who I've seen you all claim took up 30% of the seats at the Pond), immediately after the game started, CLUB level seats were going for $50. The scalpers were just trying to unload them for something. If you run fast enough, you'll only miss 3 minutes or so. -
Good Lord. Have you seen how half of the players left in the playoffs look with their beards?? Does the word "firecrotch" mean anything to you with your team of Euros?? Talk about not being on topic and not talking about hockey

So why did the Ducks sell out the Minnesota and Vancouver series? Did the Red Wings fans go to those series too because they had nothing better to do?
-
Actually there were a lot of people who couldn't make it to the game due to upper or lower body injuries or flu-like symptoms. They're on a game to game status.
-
Finally the true voice of reason no matter which team you're rooting for in this series.

oh where oh where have all the ducks fans gone

I would have responded sooner, but I was the Duck fan chosen to wipe down all the Teemu Selanne posters after ..... well you know, what the previous poster said above. Hey, we laid an egg. Babcock made great adjustments and the Wings executed them almost flawlessly. Now we're just waiting to find out if a) Rob Niedermayer or Chris Pronger will be suspended b) How long? Bob McKenzie on tsn said there's quite a few things to be considered in the decision, but he's saying at most, it looks like one game. Personally, that's a bit light. It's one thing to get frustrated; it's another thing to injure. I got busted in another post about being "worried" when my son gets hit in a hockey game, but the hit that Holmstrom took was almost identical to the one that my son took, so that tells you where I stand. And stop bagging on Bertuzzi. I don't like him; never have; never will. But the guy still has a $20M lawsuit in court that hasn't been settled yet. Do you think he's going headhunting when anything that's even barely over the line will just be another example for that Avs player's (Morris??) attorney to show in court whether it applies to his situation or not?? Hope the Ducks players go to bed and wake up and have their memory banks erased over this game. Good win for you and well deserved. -
I should be seeing Claude at the local Memorial Day tournament...I'll be sure to tell him how fondly he's remembered

Actually I am kind of worried now about some interesting Ducks news that just came out....

God all I wish is that I had to drive him to hockey!!! I wish I didn't have to watch him get crosschecked deliberately into the boards by a kid who has 50 lbs and 8 inches on him and then watch him crumple into the ice and wonder if he's going to get up. I wish I didn't have to watch the coach hold up 3 fingers in front of his face and pray that he sees 3 instead of 6. I wish that I didn't have to worry about some kid on the opposing team getting mad at him for lifting his stick in front of the goalie so he can't score and then wack him in the head (yes I've seen that). I would really like to know how many posters on any board actually play the game. My guess is less than 25%. It's great to watch the game on TV or from the arena seats. But I get to stand at the glass and have kids hit pucks at my face and slam their bodies into the boards right in front of me, so yeah, I know that playing hockey is different. I wish you all had that experience.

Just curious with all your keeping of stats and watching of games and I suppose having a job, didn't know when you would have the time to play the game too. Yes I do, and I can take your little snipes...

Hey Hank, you play hockey??

This is the best response you can give me??? Go to spectorshockey??? Like they are sitting in Brian Burke's office and listening to all his phone calls with the other GMs. HAHAHAHAHA If everthing that was reported on spectorshockey happened, half of the players on each team in the NHL wouldn't be on the team that they're currently on. Real Ducks fans know that Bryzgalov (the correct spelling) is up and down and usually just shows up big in the playoffs. Of course there's a good chance he won't be signed. He's a free agent and the last time I looked up that meaning it meant that he could decide to go elsewhere or we may not sign him. Thanks again for the information though. Wow, after you lost that last game, I didn't have to drown my sorrows at all. I quickly bought tickets for the next round and the next round and wow, the Stanley Cup Finals. You however, had to go back to your glory days of the Wings and wonder when or if ever, that would ever happen again. Pretty amazing that after that series, the Wings dynasty fell apart and you're only beginning to recover thanks to Babcock.

And just when did the Ducks want to unload Giguere?? And as you said, you dominated, but you didn't win. And if we clutched, grabbed, and interferred as was allowed per your statement above, I guess we did outwork, outhussle, outchance, and outplay you thereby showing more heart to win the game. And yes, I had an arena seat to those last two games at home. They were beautiful to watch.
-
The Stanley Cup isn't about who dominated; it's about who wins. Your 2003 team came into that 1st round thinking "Why do we even need to be here? Just push us through because we're Chelios, Yzerman, Shanahan, Fedorov, blah, blah, blah" You lost because you had no heart or passion for that series and you came up against a team that did. And you had absolutely no respect for your opponent. By the time you finally did get an ounce of respect or heart, you were down 0 - 2 and up against the Conn Smythe winner that year. And yes, the Ducks fans do know and remember how much Giguere meant for us during that playoff run. That's why he's still with the team.

Given that you're from Finland you might know something we Americans don't but he didn't have a good series with Vancouver...unlucky more than anything with hitting the crossbar instead of the net. It's also a well known fact that Selanne plays better at home than away.
