It could happen. The wings could take two in a row. Thats what giguere does,he just lulls teams to sleep. They are getting grade A chances and just need to bury them. Two goalposts made the difference on sunday and cost the wings. Its time for them to turn it up and show the ducks why they were the best team in the west this year. The ducks are one garbage win away from the finals and i'll take that, but the discerning eye can clearly see detroit is robbing themselves currently.
-
Just trying to prove your point, but i guess Giguere doesn't want to cooperate.
-
It could be true for this series as the team that has outshot the opponent has lost seemingly everytime.
-
You would think if that were the case then your team could capatalize on it. On to game 6,but don't expect tons of open ice. This game is gonna be a mirror image of the last, tough sledding.
-
I tend to agree with the above poster. Giguere is a decent goalie. His defense really has played well in front of him for the most part and the bounces are certainly tipped in the ducks favor. I think thats the way 2002-3 went for the most part also, they played good defense in front of him and he made the stops, but he certainly does well in the playoffs and thats a testament to his mental toughness.
-
Giguere is average. If it wasn't for Detroit rolling three lines of soft serve crap on ice this series would be over. I mean who are these imposters, certainly not the red wings. I don't believe in karma i believe in lucky bounces.

Even if we lose game 6, the future is very bright for this team

The wings are consistently a home-ice team and they will be next year. All of this talk of the new nhl and parity entering the league is just talk. The same teams that were strong in the pre-salary cap era are leading the way today for the most part and thats not gonna change, because these teams such as detroit draft well, pick up the right players in free agency, and have a winning tradition that won't go away. -
I never said anything contrary.
-
I don't believe for a second the ducks were outplayed for 59 minutes, however i agree the wings really tilted the ice for a vast majority of the game. They lead by a goal for 59 minutes and the ducks certainly are feeling fortunate today to have come out with a W. The ducks got a great bounce but it was the right shot at the right time by the right guy to earn the W.

I was just trying to make a point of how ludicrous it sounds to call the ducks lucky. I think opportunist would be a better word. Thats exactly what i was referring to you're correct,my main point is the ducks have been working hard to earn every inch of ice and fighting through a very tough detroit defense to salvage victories and to downplay that is to in a sense discredit your own team. The nhl playoffs are a war regardless of which team they play. So if the board members want to talk about how lucky the ducks are and how bad they suck, ultimately it discredits the fine team your city ices each game.
-
The ducks did earn their way here they beat two opponents just like the red wings. They're the 2nd seed actually. You don't know that you would have swept either of the teams the ducks played in fact had your team gone the other route, they might not even be in the conference final. Luck goals like game 1? Luck goals like Lang against San Jose? We can do this back and forth, but i think its time the ducks got some credit for winning 3 out of 5 games against a very good wings team.
-
Yeah Getzlaf is just lucky. Thats what he does,he just sits and waits until he gets lucky. The wings are out there diving and have some phantom calls also, especially the call on O'donnell while Pronger was still in the box to set up your 5 on 3. I'm not gonna sit here and cry about calls though. The wings should stop hitting post and finish with their shots. Nobody to blame but themselves.

The future is definitely bright in Detroit their youngsters have really stepped up big and the pieces are there for some real damage in the coming years. Flippula looks like a man among boys at times and Franzen, and Lebda are very impressive also. The puck is definitely bouncing the ducks way,but the wings have a lot of fight in them. Should be a great game 6. -
Hasek has been incredible. He deserved a better fate last game, but luck was on the ducks side yesterday.
-
Nothing without Pronger Niedermayer and Giguere? LOL They don't have to be without them. Getzlaf is the best player on the ice at times,i guess throwing him in there is a good idea.
-
That was a pretty solid dream. LOL The cheap seats for the ducks game are 71.00 dollars. My dream consisted of Troy Loney lifting the cup and pouring its contents filled with acid over Paul Kariya. I think this is somehow symbolic, still pending though.

I have to agree i think the west looks better in action also. The Senators do have some scary lines and more grit then i gave them credit for with Neil and Fisher. Teemu is the streakiest goal scorer i've ever seen. I know hes not well liked around the hockey world people call him a floater, cherry picker, and sometimes its warranted, but hes one hell of a dynamic player when he gets it rolling. Kariya is an absolute ass and there is everything to be said about that. Great offensive skill, but an even more offensive person. Teemu was reborn after the knee surgery he had. I'm rooting for the west all the way out,i hate the east coast bias to no end. So if the winged wheel does us in,there couldn't be a more deserving team then detroit, bunch of classy players. I wanna take out a disclaimer on my Chelios comments from the other day i was just a lil peeved at the ducks are a dirty team comments and acted a lil irrational, heres to the wings and their fans, its been fun.

Hank called it he did a slight drag on it and then let it rip. Getzlaf is coming into his own this year. I'd like to see Perry and Penner wake up from their slumber to make things a lil easier on the team.
-
They have had some atrocious draft days, but i liked their draft this year. Calvin Johnson is gonna be an all pro receiver. I like the pickup of Drew Stanton he had a good college career and could turn into a real steal at qb. Alami Francis is a big man with a mean streak and is gonna be a starter on that defensive line this year. Hes really had some bad luck with injuries and losing kevin jones doesn't help, but i think detroit can only get better, good god lets hope.
-
Obviously he thought about what to do with it and it went in. I hope he keeps praying cause i will take another goal and 2 assists on sunday. Keep praying TEEMU!
-
QUESTION? Is he the same Dan Cleary that played in the world chamionships for the US in 95?
-
I think Matt is currently framing and matting that badboy.
-
Regardless of who wins game 5 i still think its a series after that. Either team is capable of taking two games in a row from the other.
