Hosers for Hossa 2008!!!
-
Hmmm...I was going for: any team north of the border who makes it past the first round of the playoffs.
-
s***strom? Is he a swedish winger? We should trade Sammy for him. Get it done Kenny!!
-
How does 30+40=100? Are you including penalty minutes or something?
-
I chose 40-60%. The reason is that although Holland probably wants to make a deal, especially concerning the Wings' problems and needs, he will need to find pieces that actually fit at a price that won't screw the team for years to come. Despite his best effort, it is quite possible that he might be priced out of the market by teams with more cap space and less to lose. Note: by "price" of a trade I mean the total of dollars, cap space, players, prospects, and picks given up for the players brought in.

The pink ones or the white ones? It makes a difference, you know.

You could probably get Greg Johnson to center that line....or better yet, get Magnus Johansson on defence.

THN's Costello: Laperriere's hit on Lidstrom not dirty
union drone replied to Yzermania19's topic in General
It's such a natural look for an Avs player, too. -
Now all we need is a passing reference to the aforementioned trade of Sammy for a used condom and we can talk about Langus burger connecting with some 'special sauce'.

Bertruzzi...wasn't what we hoped for, but interesting factoid
union drone replied to Mike Mann's topic in General
You missed the point entirely. The point was NOT Bertuzzi = playoff success for Wings in '07, the point was major deadline acquisition ≠ stanley cup. -
Yeah, it might be time to start a defenseman injury pool.

They should name it the "NHL shameless self-promotion award", which is given annually to the player who most exemplifies North American marketability.
-
Didn't they introduce the "Mark Messier Leadership Award" last year? Didn't Chris Chelios win it?

Haha!! Thanks for the vid! That's central Helsinki in the backdrop of the vid...the white dome church with the steps in front is probably Helsinki's most famous landmark...brings back memories. I used to walk past that church at least twice a week for years! Edit: now I live in Metro Detroit. At least I get to see more wings games.

I'm oh so pretty!!...

Okay, totally off subject, but thought that this was funny: The medal does kinda look like a donut, eh?
-
I'm reaching back a ways for this one.

Long neck, small pointy head, wispy hair...separated at birth? You decide.

Got carried away...cartoon characters count as animals, no?

Did Kenny sign Alfredsson over the all-star break?!

Oh, yeah, I forgot that Ottawa's amazing cup win has bought them the respect of the league.
-
Yeah, I was reading all about Ottawa's amaaaazing fast start, which TSN dwells on for more than a paragraph, expecting it to somehow lead into the fact that Detroit was right behind them and now has a 12-point lead.... only to find that poor struggling Detroit can barely manage a 7-7-2 record against the now revitalized central. What a bunch of homer douchebags! Did they mention that Detroit has a 22-point lead over the second place Central division team? Of course not. Do they mention that if Detroit had managed to win against the Central at the same pace as against everyone else, Detroit would probably be on pace for beating the record for best regular season ever? No. But Ottawa's AMAZING record for the first 14 games somehow draws comparisons to Montreals 8-loss season in '76-'77. Gimme a friggin break. I also like how TSN's little poll about the "biggest story of the season through 50 games" includes Ottawa's start as a choice, but makes no mention of the Wings. I would like to add my own choice to the poll: Detroit making the rest of the league into their personal b*tch (with the exception of Chicago and St. Louis, who more often than not seem to play Detroit in the second game of back-to-back games)
