Umm...I wouldn't be so sure about your assessment. Lids and the Prong are both Franchise D-men, they are both very different, but both excellent. I can't give the edge to either. Rafalski>O'Donnell, I concur here. Chelios>Beauchemin Yeah, if were talking about Chelios from 1995. In 2007, however, Chelios is basically an experienced depth D-man and Beauchemin is a budding top pair D-man. Kronwall>Schneider???? Age is the only category where I would consider Kronwall to have a clear edge. Schneider is much better offensively, and probably no worse defensively than Kronwall.

A lot of people like to rip on Osgood, but in fact, he is and always has been (well, not while in StL or NY) a great asset to the Wings. Solid in net, great attitude. Second in all-time team wins to Sawchuk Fifth in wins among active goalies Cup win as backup in '97 Cup win as starter in '98 'nuff said.

I never really understood the big uproar about the jerseys. When I first heard all the complaining, I expected the worst. When I actually got to see the jerseys during a game, I had to look close to even tell the difference.

My guess is that Chelios makes his life a living hell for that reason alone. Poor Ozzy.

There seemed to be a lot of talk in the pre-season that Grigs would slink away back to Russia if he didn't make the Wings. Also, I read a recent article claiming that he looked at a conditioning stint in GR as a demotion, and that GR was not an option for him...but then I heard that he would be going to GR, but could come back in about 3 weeks after conditioning. So, what's the real deal? Will he report to GR? Is he headed back the Russia? If he doesn't get called back up to the Wings, will he pull a disappearing act? I haven't read anything yet that has given me any definitive answer. Any info is appreciated.

Markov would be a good pickup for any team that needs a veteran defensive defenseman capable of top 4 minutes. He is not the most coveted, though IMHO. Forsberg will remain the top prize. He is always a risk, but even below 100% the guy can be a game changer.

Why's that? Did he look that bad to you? Or do you think that he won't be able to crack the lineup. The guy has got to have some talent...he has gotten absolutely glowing reviews from scouts (albeit not very recently). How bad of shape is he in? I didn't get to see him in pre-season.

That can't be Barry...must be an impostor...he'd never praise the Wings so quickly. Heck in 1997 in the finals against Philly, he changed his prediction of a Philly cup only after the Wings took a 3-0 lead in the series...and only grudgingly.

Pretty entertaining... Out of curiousity, how many fights per game was there last season? How does this compare to...say 1992? It would be interesting to see a comparison. Stats, anyone?
