Did you see Datsyuk and Perry in handshake lineup? If you read Dats lips, he says "Thanks, Cory, I think Sammy and I finally got it."

Upper-body injury, day to day, has been the prognosis since it was announced that he'd sit out Game 1 against the water fowl.

You've set the bar pretty high... it's a lot of posts to reach 2250.

Keep in mind that Osgood and Pronger were teammates in St Louis for about a season and a half. I am sure that they know each other all too well. There are probably more than a few inside jokes...

Havlat was giving Hossa some injury advice.

What exactly constitutes the Wings' "modern era" is a bit subjective. Some possibilities of what could be considered the "modern" era: 1) since the last time the Wings missed the playoffs in '89-'90 (yes, Ysebaert was part of this era) 2) since '91-'92, which was Lidstrom's rookie year and the first of many years where the Wings were clearly an elite NHL team. Again Ysebaert was there. 3) since Yzerman's rookie year ('83-'84). This one is a bit debateable, as the Wings were no longer the "Dead Things", but weren't exactly top competition. Again Ysebaert was part of this. 4) Since Wings first recent cup ('97). Only bandwagon fans consider this to be the beginning. 5) Since Wings first recent trip to the finals ('95). See #4. 6) Since sometime after '97, which means that you are too young to remember any of #1-#5, or are a bandwagon fan. I use the term bandwagon fan affectionately--no hard feelings. I am partial to #2.

Concussions can be very serious... concussions turned Lindros from the next "Great One" to "Dude, what's my name again?" Sorry for making a joke out of this, but I'm trying to make a point: you don't mess around with head injuries of this type. Hopefully Hossa is okay.

I dunno, I hate Lemieux and all... but if saved puppies and kittens from a burning pet store, I'd probably reconsider him.

The million dollar question (or is it the 833,333 dollar question ) is: who sits?

I really hope that Ozzy turns it around. If he does continue to struggle, however, I have a good measure of faith in Conklin. He might not have experience as a playoff starter, but he has been up to the task thus far. All this talk of Ozzie "fanboys" and Ozzie "haters" kind of irks me at times. There wasn't a person here who wasn't pulling for him last spring. I have always liked his attitude and perseverance, but I am also totally realistic about his abilities. I think that we need a healthy dose of realism around here sometimes.

I'll take your word for it. It does make me feel a bit better knowing that this was the gameplan all along.

I was only able to get the Minnesota feed for the game, so I have no idea what Ken and Mick might have said. From the reports online and from people here, I got the impression that we would see a Conklin/Howard lineup (with Howard playing at least a game) for a total of ten days while Osgood gets a reprieve to work on his issues. Instead Howard is in town all of three days, backs up on Friday, starts on Saturday, and gets sent down on Sunday.

all coming from Vladifan! it even rhymes!!

We had some good chances on the PP in the first half of the 2nd period. Hudler had a couple really good looks but didn't find the back of the net. Hossa had one really good chance. Somebody else (Zetterberg??) was at the side of the net with lots of daylight and had it hop over his stick. At that point, the Wings had the momentum. If any of these go in, we might have had a much different outcome tonight. Bad bounces. Not that this excuses the bad play that was the rest of the game...

Buy yourself a drink. Cool off a bit. And think how much better you'll feel after Conks shuts out the Sharks a few nights from now.
