I honestly have a hard time seeing how Pittsburgh fans can think the NHL likes the Wings. Are they not seeing the same commercials the rest of us are? Do they have special Wings only ads that just run in Pittsburgh in order to piss them off?

Is anyone here really surprised at tonight's outcome, though? I think we all new something absolutely retarded was going to happen, and oh, look, it did. Personally I thought it was gonna be a run on 5-on-3's, but this was much, much awesomer.

Between that and that other commercial where it looks like the Pens actually won the Stanley Cup, it's a wonder us Wings fans have a complex about that stuff.

If Hossa scores, and scores quickly, to put Wings up 1-0...the Igloo might actually deflate. In reality, of course, if Hossa scores early, expect to see a Pens 5-on-3 right quick.

The Pens would get murdered by the Ducks over a seven game series. Yes, I know, before all the Pens slappys jump in with the "BUT WE BEAT THEM THIS YEAR!!!", that was the regular season. The Ducks are built to be a playoff team. The Pens actually match up better with the Wings I think than the Ducks.

No, that was not my point. I was curious if it was a trend during the regular season that suddenly stopped when the Finals started. It would lead to a very disillusioned fanbase. Plus it would sort of inflate the offensive stats for the Pens.

Does anyone know how to find out how many more power plays the Penguins have had during the season than their opponents? I have a theory...but I want to see some numbers before I go spouting off.

FWIW I was expecting to find the Penguins had a LOT more PPs than PKs, and now that they're not playing with a constant man advantage, A) they're no longer the offensive juggernaut they're were advertised to be, and B) their fans can't understand why this is happening. As it stands, I did not find evidence to support my theory.

But that's not valid logic. You could just as easily say, well, if a bunch of the Wings misses would have been hits, it would have been 10-1 instead of just 3-1.

It's both their faults, poor D and poor goaltending. Look no further than that Abdelkader goal. Kader was pretty much the only Red Wings on the ice, as the other 4 went off on shift change. He was for sure the only one in the zone. There were two Pittsburgh defensemen on him, and another Pen nearby, and yet he scores from the top of the faceoff circle.
