They're hot on the Islanders right now. Sounds like New Jersey I'm not a fan of contraction or moving a team. The yotes finally look like they're heading in the right direction. A problem as I see it for all of the smaller market teams is the ticket cost. How can you expect to grow a fanbase when ticket prices are high even when the economy is good? The worst part is that the league has got itself into a vicious circle. Revenue is up so let's raise ticket prices, to raise revenue some more, to raise ticket prices some more, and so on.

Wings if it's a Rangers game. If for no other reason than to avoid the bad fans from both teams.

The problem the past couple years of NYC to DC is the weather around this time really hasn't supported a winter classic. Hell, we jumped into the mid 60s between xmas and new years.

A couple things I noticed... AO seems to stop striding at about the faceoff dot. He also appeared to tense to deliver a big hit, but never followed through. To me he seemed to pull up a half second too late, like he was expecting Heward to turn and it didn't happen. Boarding yes, suspendable... yeah, um, not with the current nhl leadership

Neither, I'd wait for sportcenter or youtube, watch the highlights and skip the stuff I don't understand and move on. Hell I live in the Philly broadcast area and didn't give to s***s about the world series. Didn't watch a single game despite the "hype"

So I moved and switched to FIOS. Started flipping through the channels and found out that the NHL Network will be on channel 87 (SD) and 587 (HD). It's in the guide along with Center Ice.

There is less audio compression on HD channels than SD ones iirc.

I'm not sure 8-6 games are what the league is going for once you get past the BS in the article. They way it sounded to me was that the NHL is looking to fit the equipment to the player better and to do a little shaving here and there. Nothing as drastic as with the last shrinkage. Also it sounds like the league is trying to set tighter standards on size between manufacturers. Done slow enough and we might not even notice they transition.
