Is it because half the team is playing for the Wings? (Sorry had to do it) I hate to admit this but I gave into temptation and wore my Mac jersey out today.

Sweet...
-
Seconded To add to that... Hossa, Feds and Foote are all major in my book. Cap era doesn't really support the landings imo. For Example, something along the lines of Sammy for another forward that shots alot, normally miles wide, and will piss off LGW members to no end. Hell make him the same size as Sammy to just for the icing on the cake.

Called it... that the drama wasn't over that is

Agreed and based on Hollands track record in the cap era, I doubt they land anyone that's been highly talked about around here.

to keep him outta the west in the playoffs and to clear some cap for next year I could see it.

Why Can't Someone Do This to Phaneuf or Pronger?
vangvace replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Phaneuf won't get suspended. He doesn't play for Philly and isn't as big a nutjob as Simon. So much for that cracking down on head shots though heh? -
Still holds true. only the sharks, hawks, and wild don't have a winning record against the east, but you can add 2 more teams if you ignore the horrible Southeast. Dank, forgot to add that the West also is more well defined on who the have's and havenots are.
-
I could have sworn many have
-
Hatred of the deep seeded, 3+ generation, driving distance kind favors the East easily. Discipline favors the West. West plays a grind where-as the East plays like two goats ramming each other repeatedly. East has bigger stars, but West has better overall talent.

How many third liners get second line minutes? Mind you I think he can be a second liner.

The thread could be retitled "MIA : Scoring" Injuries may have played a part, but the team is still a one-trick pony. Well two tricks really. First trick is DHZ line. The second trick is that just about every other player on the regular roster is a special teams player, leaning heavily on the PK. Scoring seems like it was a Field of Dreams plan. If you build it goals will come. Too bad Holland's not Kevin Costner. If he was the plan might work.

He's played 10 full games in 2008 so far. Been out 13 Games with injury and left 2 others because of injury. Even though that fits in well with the rest of the clipped wings in the pressbox... pass for somebody healthier. In his fourth game back he leaves due to injury and it's a charley horse? It seems to be turning into a late round + conditional if he leaves via trade. Rather see him as a training cap try-out

My three favorites were Dandenault, Fedorov, and Maltby. But then again I never liked any of them. Can't bash them when they're losing and can't bash them when they're winning. We really need to bring back ties.

he's standing by the blue line hoping to avoid an interference call

Damn I miss Domi... and Probert. You just don't have quality like this anymore. Edit: Detroit's had a couple cheap shot artists as well over the years as well. -
at least someone else found it funny

"I want to skate around another year. If I get close to Cheli's age. Shoot me. Shoot me tonight after the game if I even think about playing that long." -intermission interview. Flyers v Sharks Hilarious

I remember when giving up three or four goals wasn't considered being "shelled." Honestly I think it started with protection of the body, but has moved on to making themselves as large as legally possible. It's not like the scores are going to jump up into the teens either. You didn't see basketball game scores during the 80s and early 90s did you? All players equipment has improved the difference being that the goalie's equipment has the most impact on the game. Maybe it's just be, but a wrister from the faceoff dot with the goalie square to the shooter should have a better chance of scoring without redirection or screens than I do of winning the lottery. A way they could match the equipment to the goalie is to make it so their equipment can only extend so far away from the body with the jersey on. Measure it in a few positions, like standing, kneeing, arms at sides and arms extended out. Leg pads. I'm ok with the width. They're only a inch widder than they used to be and length is the more pressing issue. 6 inches (random number BTW) above the top of the knee standing straight. Glove... It started as a baseball glove. now the freaking thing is 45" around. Now how in the hell is that for player's safety? While we're at it let's get rid of the zamoni's too.

don't forget you're talking to a neo generation

So does he have to clear waivers then? Still not crazy about this either.
-
tsn version of philly article He's Favre, Clemens, Neidermayer, and Selanne all rolled into one... Guess he didn't like being left out the press for the next week.
-
espn There ya go. How about 2 weeks to hedge bets?
-
Two weeks ago I was dead set against this, but with the recent injury bug... I'm not as dead set against this. So will it be a one way or two way contract? Also will he have to clear waivers before coming up or is he too old for that?

I refer you to Lou's sig for fight record. Goals from the fourth line is like winning the lottery. Great when it happens but if you need it to survive then you are not going to last long.
