I wouldn't mind a year or two of Stanley Cup winner vs. rest of NHL... but I know that this is way off topic.
-
I'm willing to bet that the odds are that he'll be the dark horse in this race. Oh and that it's less to do with him and more to do with his goalie
-
Kane before Lang
-
and his hard work shows with the contract extension, but I have to wonder if this should have gone in the tandem or contract thread...
-
Both goalies are now front page on NHL's webpage for GAA!
-
... but could he take the number 1 spot...

Yup continue the rotation. It keeps them both fresh and active. It's working. It avoids the scapegoat/savior theme if only one starts and things go badly. Besides I seem to remember people saying earlier this season that there isn't a backup, it's an 1A and 1B. That sure sounds like a tandem to me.

So I'm thinking about adding either Chris Neil or Boll to help in the PIM department since it's my weakest link. Or maybe even Hartnell. Looking to replace one of the following: Langkow Horton (my PIM leader at 47) Cleary Nylander (-17+/-) I'm leaning towards Boll for Nylander right now. Suggestions or is this even a good idea?

Burn! Like the goalie idea, but don't really see it happening. Not against the icing idea, just don't know if I'm for it. I like having to serve the full 2 min on a penalty. But in the new NHL, that would mean about a period a night is spent a man down per game and I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

If you have a bunch of centers I would go Hudler. However, if you could convince yahoo to add a winger role to Filp....
-
I'd prefer not to add another gimmick to going to a hockey game. But thenagain I also don't like how several teams have started concerts and hockey games have broken out. Plus with the cheerleaders you always have that annoying huckster and stupid mascot running around just asking to get the crap beat out of them.
-
Because Detroit's no longer a hockeytown, duh Sacremento and Vegas in the next round of expansion! Or maybe bring back the Whale! Sheesh talk about your non-hockey markets. You must be out of your mind. OK done channeling Bettman In related rumors: the two NY teams are looking into playing a game in old Yankee Stadium

Highest rated reg season game since Gretzky's last

I don't think that there is a heavy out there to be had right now that would be worth it sadly. Edit: Huggy Bear is on his last year with the Caps... hmmm
-
I don't care who, but somebody needs to kick the crap out of Ott. It doesn't even have to be a Wing that does it. I'm not picky.
-
Yeah, I just find it strange that with all the fighters in Detroit's history I've never seen anyone rank them.
-
I think it's up to the individual players as to what mterial they want... but the fan's jerseys are't changing. Back on topic almost: I think Washington is a worse franchise than Nashville
-
I might be mistaken, but in order for Ilitch to buy the Lions he would need to ask the NFL for a waiver to own another sports franchise. I think only one other owner in the league owns a team outside of the NFL.
-
Either or, I was thinking top 10 fighters to have played for Detroit at some point was along the lines of what I was thinking
-
How about a top ten for Detroit?
-
Sniff about a fight and the subject comes up
-
Yeah but I was refering to the best fighters ever to wear the winged wheel. Nothing about checking, offense, or defense just fighting. So, yeah, he's #4 on my list of wings I can remember right now for fighting skills. He was a good/decent light-heavy that followed the a-typical fight life cycle who immortalized himself by turtling Lemiux.

That's just it though it doesn't seem like Washington cares about winning, at least not for a couple more years. They have a ton of kids and only four guys that have contracts for more than 3 mil. 1 star, 2 or three good players and hope for the best. That's been thier MO since Jagr if not before from what I remember. I just don't see him staying there this offseason and keeping his contract demands high does one of two things. If the caps resigning them it proves how inept they are. If somebody else signs him, then he goes to a better team (in theory) and the caps get many draft picks. Working out better for both sides. Oh and I don't think that he'll break the 10 mil barrier, but somebody will in the near future.
-
Oh, I wasn't refering to retirement and I agree that he has at least another season in him and will be a beast again in the playoffs. No what I was thinking was that now that Chicago's ownership has changed it wouldn't surprise me for him to do a farewell season or two back there. Not that I see it happening after so long but... Edit: Defensive log meet jam and live disfuctionally ever after
-
it might also mean Chelios is moving on after this year.
