Pronger at it again: elbow to McAmmond's head
vangvace replied to zetterbergfuturemvp's topic in General
Actually it doesn't surpirse me that he only got one game for it. They throw out player's naughty history (majors, misconducts, and whatnots) on penalties that happened during the playoffs once it hits SCF. I think that they did the same thing in this case based on the substandards put in place by the rulebook, even though this is outside the rulebook's realm I believe. Do I agree with it is a different story... As for Neil's hit, yes I could have seen a suspension for it as well. But I would rather see a beating instead. -
I'm going to disagree because it'd be too easy for a skate to slide up a blocker/glove/arm. I could easily see players kicking at a puck frozen by the goalie as opposed to whacking away with a stick. Or a pile of bodies and you have Pele over there kicking away because the pucks free I just see very bad things happening...

:rotflmao: Ain't that the truth. I'm happy my sister was able to find a renter for her house after trying to sell it for two years

yup, throw in poor marketing, poor network deal, and it hurts even more. I don't really blame Bettman as much as his staff.
-
With how long it takes for some homes to sell in the Detroit area he might just be getting ready for after next season

I have a feeling vegas is going to get a team... just not before Hamilton/Kitchener/Watterloo does. maybe the Vegas Panthers?
-
ok you give credit to luck... I'll give mine to the medic with his fingers stopping the bleeding.

Quoted it for ya... or are you upset because I used the word would instead of a different one? wiki

This is why the kicking rule exists. WARNING NOT graphic but bloody as hell Goalie Throat Slash If it wasn't for the fact that Buffalo's trainer spent time in the military as a combat medic he would have died before he left the ice.:patriot: Yes there is more neck protection but...

Game 5, first shift 2-5-10 for creaming Pronger... reason enough to dress him

yup, he owns alot in the area around the fox.

before long "goon" will equal North American player or floppa who's a goon that has skill, but is still a goon

Underage drinking is enough to get you fired from alot of jobs now-a-days. Personally I don't like the fact because he was stupid enough to get caught. If he's has the talent, another team will give him a chance though, I just hope he learned his lesson.

strangely, and I hope I'm not coming down with something, if he only plays in one game I'd like him to get 2-3min and no penalties. If he gets two games though...
-
7-9 would be great... but I have my Sanders jersey and paper bag ready just in case. I hope Backus (sp?) play improves and the defense bends but doesn't break.

Yeah what do you think this is boxing, wrestling or the NBA?

boo desperate marketing... hooray outdoor hockey. Put it in the Big House!!! can you say 110,000+ fans. This plus "expanding" to the European market should make for an interesting season.

soooo.... the salary cap and revenue sharing are a bad thing because it gives every team a chance? It's still up to the individual teams to be competitive.

The Preds have a buyer, the team sale hasn't been blessed by the NHL yet. The buyer wants a NHL team to the Hamilton area and I don't think it matters what team it is that moves. He went for the Penguins recently as well. For craziness sake if he were buy the Wings or the Canadians he would try and move them to his home, but like I said that's craziness. The Preds have one year guaranteed left in Nashville. If their paid attendance doesn't go up to 14,000 on average he would be able to move the team. Last year they averaged around 12,000 payed. From what I got out of the state of the league the other night a few teams might be moving in 5-10 years. Hope this helped

Was the league created two years ago or something? :looney:

Selig trumps Bettman... for now anyway

Obstruction, Hooking, Slashing. Holding, Clutching, and Grabbing
vangvace replied to rick zombo's topic in General
Good post all the way around. I don't know if going down to 4-4 full time would necessarily cut bench spots, but would weed out those who can't skate pretty quick. 5 O Pairs with 4 D pairs would be interesting and scary at the same time and would definitely shake things up. I think that if the league is going to look at goalie pads this year some more then they should focus more above the waist . Reduce the size of glove a little, blocker a bit, and reduce the size and rise of the chest pad. All three can be done fairly simply with the new technologies out there without risking goalie safety. The mattresses could be reduced more as well in width but probably not length. Perhaps a taper from the ankles to the knee? That way the knees are still protected but there is less padding farther away from center mass. Finally, has the two ref system helped or hurt with penalty consistency? -
yeah... I remember waaay back that either Norris or Adams where involved with the hawks and wings, but I don't know if it would fly today. Bring back the old devision names! if for no other purpose than to dump geographical debates. (Ok that wouldn't stop them but I do miss the old name scheme over the generic one in use now)

For curiosity's sake... if the sale of the team goes through, but with a stipulation that he couldn't move the preds, could he spearhead the move of another team to Hamilton while his team stays in Nashville? Bring a team home, own the building rights of that team, while owning the Preds with the sweet deal they are(Owner gets all the revenue but none of the cost). Win, win, win?
