..... "and thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it?" Princess Bride much? Best. Flick. Ever. Almost. Hello. Your name is Christopher Pronger. You killed my Homeboy, prepare to die.

RobO, I would expect you to not know much about the Sens-- after all, your team has not played them. (this is a REALLY good reason to watch every hockey game you can: never know who One's Team will be facing) I dunno if you have Central Ice available out in SoCal? I assume you do? Get it, if you can, for the next season. I'm just completely amazed at this sudden turnaround by Wingsfans, "ooooo, Sens are dirrty!" Ehmmm, I hate to say I told you so, but I TOLD YOU SO before the Sens even beat out the Sabres. I'll drag up old posts if you want me to (I'm so suree you don't, heh). SENS ARE physical, and don't shy from the dirty. They've just met a team that is far MORE physical and far more accomplished at The Cheap Shot than they are. And Murray is a laugh and a half-- "hypocrisy, wherefore art thou?" And Burke sucks. And I am SO happy to be a Wing fan. Yes, we may not have made the SCF this year, but we made it out of this quagmire of bad officiating, worse play, with pride intact and with heads high. No sour grapes, here. Just grapefulness.* *please blame the pun-age on Lou_Siffer, or any of the other punny eejits that give me odd ideas)

That would probably be The Best Thing Ever for hockey. A ratings bonanza, a huge hit for our sport. Kinda like the Harding Hit on Kerrigan's knee did for figure skating in '93-- the rest of the decade was pure media gravy and a bonafide bonanza for both amateur and pro FS. During season, it was harder to NOT find a FS event on a given weekend. Guess what? It was equally as hard to NOT find a hockey game on telly then, too. Guess sports on ice are iced. Bad pun sadly not intended.

I thought you weren't giving 'ratings' to cheap hockey?

Pronger at it again: elbow to McAmmond's head

Why is the rum always gone? (hides the rum) -
I know what you mean about Maclean, but it's sooo funny to watch them together, he's like the kid that doesn't want his auld Da to embarass him MacLean was KILLA in his relentless pursuit of Bettman pre-game 2. I nearly stood and cheered, I did. Ehh, Bettman still weaseled and double-talked and shamatta'd outa his hard questions, but my respect for Mac went up leaps and bounds. Love 'em both: Ye Auld & Le Avant Garde.

That'a the best thing I've heard all day.

It may not be ALL that unfair, in the long run. Think about it. CP put his team at risk TWICE in hotly-contested series finals, resulting in NHL reviews both times (which embarassed the league mightily, being perhaps the ONLY thing that was reported about the SC finals in sports news). Uncool, to say the least, especially if the intent is to clean up the league to draw soccer moms to the sport. NOT what the Bettman NHL is exactly looking for, to promote hockey as a 'happy sport', izzit? I'm actually kinda happy dancing because the DUCKS have proved TWICE-- not once, but TWICE-- against two far different, and both really competitive, teams that, hey, guess what? WE DON'T ACTUALLY NEED CP AFTER ALL. WE CAN WIN WITHOUT HIS PENALTY-RIFE ARSE. I'm kinda all goofy about my (perhaps naive) belief that he's truly put a tattoo on himself that sez: LOOSE CANNON: HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK

ARRRGH! (or as Capn OsGod would say, "ARRRRR!!!!" Just mentioned: "The score favored the Sens, reflected a better game than they played, the Duck puck hit the post three times." Helllloooo? HOW MANY TIMES did Datz and Zata ring the GP bell in our last series, with nary a mention (or replay) on HNIC? Nitpicking, I know, I know. Yikes.... DON CHERRY IS GIVING ALFREDSSON THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT! (I think I'm buying some new blades. Hell just froze over)

1:30 left. No hope. This isn't the Buffalo Sabres, after all-- scores in the last seconds are-- WERE- their forte, not Ottawa's.
-
*shakes head sadly* Yer long gone into The Pun. No hope.
-
McAmmond's lack is noticeable.... not hugely, but a definite lack on his shifts. However... have we all not noticed how much we HAVEN"T missed one Christopher Prrr... Ppppprrrr... He Who Shall Not Be Named? I can only hope that the Duck front office has noticed how WELL this team plays without The Barnacle (actually, he's more of a zebra mussel-- Michigan Wingnuts know what I mean by that!).

You're repeating yourself. You're repeating yourself. And it's infectious.

People here have seen more of the Ducks dirty play beat our beloved WINGS. Have seen far less of the SENS, so have no reason to hate 'em, more of a reason to cheer 'em when they play dirty. What they don't realize is that dirty play i.e. obstruction ala Duck by OTT took them past a skilled Sabres team. *shrug* Wing'd Folk are just happy to see it put to the Ducks. But yeah, to asnwer: dirty stuff, and not new to this Ottawa team or their Captain..

Teemu, that wasn't the time to get hot! ARGH!!

Dude, I'll tape SabreFriend's rant about it for yez, if you wanna hear rage about that. She loathes Alfy, for many reasons, but his hit on Tallinder was cheap, and happened around the time of the Homer HitMen. Tallinder was out, but he didn't BLEED. No call. No review. My ears are STILL ringing from her diatribe re: Chris Neil's hit on MacDonald last game....!

With all due respect, it seems some people here think that the SENS=WINGS, either out of Duck hatred or whatever. I've watched a lotta Sen hockey this year, because of SabreFriend, and they are actually no different in their play than the Ducks-- they were the BigBadBullies in the East. They pulled the same stuff on BUF the DUCKS did to WINGS-- only I believe the WINGS responded better, and had we Matts or Kronner... well. OTTAWA is NOT a sweet, clean, lovely buncha lads. They ARE, however, more skilled in general,, and I like that, and also, a SHADE less dirty than ANA-- simply because Pronger is not on their team, and I have a whole history of investment in disliking Pronger's dirty play. Even when dirty play was the play of the day, Pronger sucked really, really bad. Dassit. That's my take.

I <3 DON CHERRY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! "Get rid of the instigator rule!" A BroadStreetBully mention!!!!!! EVEN Brett Hulk (sic) "It's the most honourable part of hockey!" BASHING BETTMAN, LURRRRVVVE IT! GOGOGOGOGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ducks; A disgrace to NHL? Trend for good ol' hockey going to the
RedRockit replied to a topic in General
I think I love you. Well, love and appreciate this opinion of yours, anyway. <3 Although, historically, officiating calls that rule in reg season are tossed when it comes to playoffs. The Wings have been caught out like that before, this year was extremely reminiscent for me of the mid-'90s, when Wings ruled the regular season, regularly. This Thing of Ours--sets up a great rivalry in the WC, eh? Tres Wings/'Lanche, eh? Llike when LeMuck demolished Drapes, eh? Wait till next year regular season Wings/Ducks game, eh? Won't it be a ratings bonanza=$$$$ *repeats solemnly to self* I DO NOT BELIEVE IN KONSPIRATSIA, I do NOT believe in Konspiratsia.... SENS TIE IT UP!! and here I am, on the wrong thread. -
Strictly speaking (and I'm not disagreeing with you: reading yr posts these last few weeks, you've forgotten more hockey than I know), Ducks have never really been OUT of the game. We know that a 1 goal cushion innit enuf against these monsters from the deep, aye, matey? (OsGod rubbed off, darnit) I'd like to see the intensity of Game 2 period 2 back from OTT, though. They took NO momentum from the last-second goal into preiod 2 here.
-
Neids* is hungry for a goal. Mac goal. *shrug* really thought Scott N would get it. My gaydar is off tonight. *evil grin* *sorry for missp. it's my lysdexia
-
Ducks showing some good pressure-- disciplined at that. Em better keep on keepin' his cool-- he's done great thus far, with help from OTT D. edited to say: AND the goalpost! Darn it Phillips! You KNOW the refs are gonna call every lil thing on you guys tonight, what with the Pronger thing and the Neilo non-thing...
-
Penalty on Neil. *checks the eastern sky to see if SabFriend is setting off fireworks* Neil is her Public Enemy #1, as Pronger is mine. And evidently, Porr Darrlin Dean Mac's.

Rayzor dodged a bullet with his name on it in BIG LETTERS there... *whew*

Whoa, I hate to hear that. I really, REALLY wanna love thia kid, but he just gets worse and worse with the cheap stuff. HOW could he have the gall to say that about Em? (I hope that gets youtubed, too! That was NFL-like action)
