WINGS TILL DEATH

Hey I'm from California. Sure I'm a Wings fan, but I've been with them my whole life. Anyway there are some good smart duck fans just not many, anr the bad fans are so bad that they ruin the name for the good ones.

Also teams know he's good with the stick so I think they stick to his bodie more religiously now then they did before, and I think he's getting doubled on a lot more know also. I still say he needs to whip his old ways back out then run back to play D if he needs to. I want to see those soft hands again. they were so exciting to watch.

Seriously i hate that team with a passion after last post seasons puck luck for that team, and even during their slump at the beginning of this season they still find a way to make us look bad with a 6-3 win. WTF is up with the ducks always beating us. I know we won the home opener against them, but it was in a shootout that could have gone either way. I really hate how for some reason we double their shots and they still outscore us. Is anyone else as mad as I or am I just being a whinny jacka$$ because I hate that team almost as much as I hate the AV's. Well at least the Av's had the honor to take off their helmets and fight like honorable people. Unlike Perry who still got himself destroyed by Drake even when wearing a helmet and massive visor. I think Dats has lost some confidence in a way. He's not pulling the move that he used to. Go watch his top ten plays on youtube we're not seeing any of thise from him right now. Ok, Size does matter, Our power play was a good point. We did not take advantage of our chances. I still can't full blame the Wings for that due to Giggy (God I hate him!!! I like Bryz though). I don't know how that guy turns it up in the playoffs. Have you seen his playoff OT record? Also his house got TPed the night we beat them 5-0!!! I mean have you been to a playoff game and heard someone wearing a duck jersey ask" Who is number 8 on the ducks? He's good!" While in the pond? Talk about band wagon fan. I wanted to shoot him. I've also seen regular season games were the guy I'm sitting by is wearing a Wings jersey, the ducks take the lead and he takes off his jersey to reveal a duck shirt, then the Wings lead again and he's got the damn Wings jersey on again. I hate Anaheim its seriously filled with band wagon Angel Duck and USC fans. Wait USC has 2 losses so I think they're Oregon fans now.

If you're getting out shot by us every game you're not that great. I really just wanted to see if anyone hates them as much as I do, and if they think that there maybe a rivialry coming?

I know how we can fix hockey!!!! Eliminate our crappy southern market supporting commissioner Bettmen!!! Get rid of that moron and we've got really hockey back. Nowadays hockey looks like soccer on skates. Where has the hitting gone? I saw some of it in the opener, but not nearly enough. We need rivalries again like the one against the Av's. Fighting, hitting, and passion, all of which is action without goals. The NHL is fixing the wrong things. We don't need more goals; it is nice, but lack of goals was not the problem. Hockey was never broken! WHY FIX IT!!!??? About attendance my solution is GO TO THE GAMES, instead of sitting on the forums! invite your friends who don't know and don't like hockey. We can all agree that taking someone to a game is the best way to create a new fan. TV has never given our sport credit like it does football and basketball, and it never will! TV makes our players look slow, small, and the rink look tiny. For some reason in football the field looks huge on TV, and when you see it live it's not nearly what you think it is. Remember it's only 100 yards. The same occurs with basketball. The court looks way bigger then it does in actuality. If people watch our sport on TV they'll never gain respect for hockey. Take them to the games to see the speed, power, PASSION of hockey. When I was back home in CA I went to EVERY single Wings and Ducks game, and sometimes Wings and Coyotes games. Every-time I lost my voice from cheering, and trashed talking till I got on the 55 Freeway back home, or the hotel in Phoenix. Having passion ignites it in others. If your friend who knows nothing of hockey see the passion that you and other fans have for the team and the game they WILL become addicted and feel a sense of social belonging to the sport. I most certainly second that. I miss McCarty!!! I want him back!!!!

I love this guys speed and how well he plays in the clutch. That save against BC for the championship was stellar!!! I hope he gets a chance?

All I want is the wings to rocks and the ducks to crash and burn!!! I won't be mad if we don't win it all this year if we BEAT THE S#!^ out of the DUCKS in every game this year. I'm still pissed about how lucky they got.

I hate ESPN. I like ESPN2 X-Games, but thats it. I dislike ESPN because they talk football, and Basketball non-stop!!! Even in their off-seasons!!! That drives me nuts!!! NBC wasn't much better cutting off after regulation leaving us to the NHL for OT results!!! Verses did a great job, but I wish they had Gary thorne!!! He made MSUs Championship win that much better!!!

Darren McCarty's Letter to Fans July 28, 2005 Don't be sad it's over -- be happy it happened. In the past few days, since the official word came of the buyout and as the status of my contract teetered, the reality that I'm not going to be a Red Wing anymore has set in, and I've taken some time to reflect. I don't know if it's maturity ('cause if you know me, that's never been an issue) or the painstaking reality of the past 12 months without hockey. Either way, I'm saddened to leave an organization in a place where I've grown up, raised a family, been part of a first-class and first-rate team, won three Stanley Cups and achieved great personal success. But looking back, what I really feel is gratitude -- thankful for the opportunity to realize a childhood dream to play for my childhood team. Grateful to Mr. and Mrs. Ilitch and their entire family for letting this boy become a man and always treating my family as one of their own. Grateful to the entire Red Wing organization from Ken Holland and his staff, to John Hahn and Anne Marie Krappmann in the PR department for their ever tireless effort. Grateful to Piet Van Zant and Paul Boyer for patching me up and getting me back out on the ice. Grateful for the support and memories from everyone at the Joe whom I will miss seeing daily, and thankful to the media for not only their endless support of myself but in the way they've always supported the McCarty Cancer Foundation and my band Grinder. What will I miss most about playing hockey in Detroit? That's simple. The fans. From the day-to-day coffee stop or gas station conversation to the people who say hello on the street or ask for an autograph at the checkout, there are no greater fans than those in Detroit. These are the great things about my time as a Red Wing that I will always remember no matter where I go. Thank you to all of you. But please don't shed a tear 'cause it's over -- crack a smile 'cause it happened, and no one can ever take that away. I'll always be a Red Wing at heart, and Detroit will always be my home. How the F* could you like that team. They had the easiest playoff route. Stole two games from us. Had J.S. carry them there. Plus thier fans suck!!! I live in Anaheim and seriously after the cup celebration (Which sucked) nobody gave two s***s about the team or the CUP for that matter. Some of the fans only know like two players. The only thing cool about the ducks is the music thats played in the Pond (oh wait the Honda Center lame) Bro Hymns a sweet goal song too bad their horn sucks. Worst fans in the NHL, Cheap and lucky players, and J.S.'s back can't hold up forever.

I hope I'm wrong, but my dream consisted of a 2-2 OT and the wings score, and get an obvious goal called off due to homer being in the crease. Then anaheim rallys back the next play and teemu sets up Rob who also is positioned in the crease and he bangs it in. This seems like the outcome to me because the ducks have sooooo much luck going and now sooo much confidence. Anytime you can win when being consistantly out played your going to get a major confidence Boost. WE HAVE TO WIN!!! THE WINGS NAMES BELONGS ON THAT CUP!!! WE DESERVE THAT DATE WITH THE CUP!!! I'll be damned to hell if we let those luck bastards disgrace OUR Stanley Cup!!! They're a good team, but they didn't earn the right to pass this series. Not the way they've been playing. The Duck did not earn their way here. The 1st seed is supposed to have the easyist route, NOT the 4th seed. If we would have played the series the ducks have played we would be 8-0 going into a tried Anahiem. The Duck are just made of luck goals off sticks, and goal that are saved, but the tender crosses the line all pure luck, and if luck is what gets your name on the Cup I don't want that Cup.
