I'd hope my wife is smart enough not to say that to me She's worn her Wings stuff out and been yelled out and taunted by Squawks fans, I just keep telling her that thats why its important we beat them every single time we play them.

I'm going to try that this year with my wife. We've been to Wings/Hawks games at the UC but she's never been to the Joe. I keep telling her its a completely different feeling and experience than watching it here.

My wife isn't really a hockey fan, though I've gotten her Wings gear and she wears it often. She doesn't have any Detroit connections like I do so if it weren't for me, her friends would be pushing her onto the Hawks bandwagon. Luckily I'm here to inform and teach her so she now dislikes like the Hawks but still thinks Toews is cute. Not sure what to do with that.

I originally wasn't opposed to Modano signing up to play one more year here but the longer this goes on, the less excited I am. Either sign or don't. Holland needs to tell him that he has until, like, Wednesday or else the team will start making decisions which will make it very hard for him to come to Detroit if and when he chooses.

While I only lived in Detroit for 4 years in my early teen years, I'd have to seriously reconsider if they moved out of Michigan. Part of the reason I love the Wings is as a reminder of that part of my life and there is a connection there that I don't know would translate if they left the city. Awful seasons and ownership driving them into the ground wouldn't be enough to make me stop cheering for there, I'm a Cubs fan so thats par for the course. As long as the Detroit Red Wings are the Detroit Red Wings in location and identity, I'm a fan.
