When was your first Wings game at the Joe?
redwingslady87 replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Nope, my dad just pulled out the saved tickets we had. October 9th against Edmonton Oilers. -
I think it was provened to be over-hyped throughout the entire playoffs this year. Wings v.s. Sharks entire series except for game 6. Game 5 in the series against the Ducks are just a few examples. Infact if you don't let the opposing team pick up the momentum from scoring first, It just gives you and your teammates a kick in the pants to start figuring out how you can put the puck in the net. First goal definetly means nothing. Especially in the playoffs.

First Wings game at the Joe was Shannahan' sfirst game as a wing. Don't remember too much about the night since i was so young. It has been a LONG time since then though and my second game at the Joe was game one v.s. the Ducks this year and third game was game five against the ducks. Had a blast at all three games, even though we ended up losing game 5. Its cool to hear about everyone's experiences down there. -
Honestly, can you be a Redwings fan & a Blackhawks fan at the same
redwingslady87 replied to planzwrecker's topic in General
You could be like Cheli's friend John Cusack. Loves his home team, but loves his buddy's team as well... But other than that -
I remember being in Art class and a couple of the girls were headed to Philly for a competition. So we made signs saying the wings were gonna kill the Flyers and put Al the Octopus on them, and the girls hung them up all around their hotel in Philly. Happy Anniversary and here is to another run next year.

Hey if watching a good fight makes us neanderthals then thats what we are. I'm a simple fan to please. A good fight will have me smiling the rest of the night. A good fight and a win will make me happy the rest of the week.

Serious Talks Of Expansion...And The Wings Moving East
redwingslady87 replied to Sleight's topic in General
My boyfriend and I said the same thing earlier today. The sad part about that would be having quick and boring series leading up to the finals, and i don't think the wings would be quite as prepared for whats coming from the West. Despite the late night games, long travel, yada yada. I'd prefer the Wings to stay in the West. -
First of all thank you for the welcome, I hope to stay and chat about hockey for many years to come, so far it has been a great place. I will always try and back up what i say, but as humans we make mistakes and i will own up to mine and admit when i'm wrong. I hope people respect me for that rather than if i have an excelling IQ in hockey. I'm well aware of how long the Wings have been a contender in the playoffs seeing as i've been watching them ever since i was a little girl. Of course Stevie was already Captain by the time i was born, but none the less I didn't know that just because i recently joined the forums that means i'm jumping onto the bandwagon. I just found the site before game 4 ofthe wings/ducks series. Thanks for making such a useless assumption though.

Uhhh last time i checked the title "serious playoff contender" was not a newbie. But you know i've only been reading for 17 years, so maybe i don't know what the term "newbie" means. And last time i've checked you haven't made much of a contribution to the boards either. All i've heard out of you so far is WHAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Did the ducks deserve to win against us? Of course I'm gonna say no, but the truth is they did.. However did the ducks deserve to win against Ottawa? Yes. I rooted for Ottawa all the way, but the ducks shut them down. The only only perfect play is putting the damn puck in the net, and they continuosly found a way to do that. As an organization the ducks deserve to have their name on the cup this year. As for Pronger, i called out his name as he raised the cup above his head. A**HOLE!!!

your car can be identified by all the Red Wings memoribilla on it. -
im just baffled by the stupidity and arrogance of this guy. As a tall lady (6'0) and my dad being Pronger's height (6'5) I have always been taught to be aware of my height and my surroundings. He KNEW exactly where his body was going to place against Homer's and if he had any decency as a human being, he never would have gone to make a hit like that on anyone unless they were his own size.

This one is for my dad... Your wife knows playoffs is the worst time to ever try and get some sleep. Everytime the wings score you can my dad scream throughout the entire house, and when they're losing.... well you can hear him scream throughout the entire house. -

Who is your favorite all time player, AND your favorite active player?
redwingslady87 replied to a topic in General
I have to agree as well. For my entire life Yzerman was the captain of the Wings and forever will be my favorite hockey player of all time. I'm still getting use to the idea of Nick as the captain. Current players i have 3 wings that hold a tie for first place. Hank, Cleary, and Filppula. I see a young Stevie Y in all of them. I just got Hanks jersey at game one against the Ducks. Good choice as he scored the first goal for us. Cleary is always out there, shooting the puck, and just making things happen. Filppula's dive shot on goal a couple of games ago just screamed Yzerman to me. Had it gone in, it definetly would have been shot of the game.
