Even though we lost I'm happy with the outcome. Yes we played crappy some of the time but we came out of the game with one less goal compared to our 4-0 and 3-0 spanking that we gave them for the first 2 games.

It's gotten so bad with all the Crosby love making that my mom doesn't want to watch the game. She doesn't get upset about the commentating that much but with all this Crosby loving and nothing about the Wings it's like were watching a feed from a local Pitts station. Those a$$hats from NBC have to learn that hockey is a team sport and not singles figure skating, where all they have to do is interview and look at the best skater out there. Damn I wish I had CBC here now.

It's interesting that all the other coaches that Detroit has played against thus far in the playoff never complained about "obstruction", but now MT is using that excuse because he can't find a plan that will work against the Wings game plan so far.

So your saying that they don't have any cameras on the goalie when there might or might not be interference with the goalie? I'm sorry to say that they had the past 2 goal's, that were called back, on film and the people watching at home could clearly see what went on. All calls on the ice are a referee's judgment call. If they weren't then there would a lot more penalties called in a game.

Looks like the next Winter Classic might not be in Yankee Stadium. Winter Classic 2 : Yahoo I personally would like the West to have the winter classic this year since the east had it last year, but with reading that the gov of Pennsylvania wrote a letter to Bettman about having a game between Pens/Flyers they would get it over the Blackhawk, because you have to have the NHL poster boy at the center of all these big games. But that's my two cents about it.

I don't know if this was posted before (did read through all the posts) but this series is starting to sound like the 3rd round series last year with the Wings and the Duck. People did not think Detroit would make it out the 1st and 2nd round and they made to the 3rd round, and said that the Ducks had it easy in the first two rounds. We all know how that ended up. I'm not saying that the exact same thing will happen this year but I just thought it was interesting that same thing stated last year about the 2 teams in the 3rd round are being stated this year. I'm just looking forward to an action pack series with a wing for the Wings.

I don't think there has ever been an incident were a player was injured because of octopus "goop", so anything he says is basically showing that he is trying to get all the teams on some sort of even ground (even if there are 6 teams out there with a rich history). So if Al can't swing the octopi then he should fine the players for spitting on the ice (or even letting their sweat drip onto the ice), who knows someone might catch an edge on spit mound from a player and get injured. Thats how ridiculous this is.

I'm wondering how streamlining the goalies equipment would put the goalies at risk of injury. They wouldn't be taking any padding that is protecting a part of the goalie body only taking away the padding that is used to protect the space around the goalies body.

Just to play devil advocate here, but then why weren't the Red Wings fined when they retired Yzerman's number? That postponed the start of the game by about 30 mins. IT's close to being the same thing since they are both ran past the expected starting time of the game/period.

Even though I think it is dumb to talk about the playoff right now I want to put something out there that no one has stated yet (I don't think anyone has since I didn't read all the posts). If both of our goalies are playing this way up to the beginning of the playoff I personally think that Dom will be the starting goalie only because he is Detroit's starting goalie this season. But hey none of us have a say in who gets to play, that's up to Babcock.

If it's about this weekends games then no, but if you are talking about at the GLI then yes.

I hope to see a U of M / MSU consolation battle and a MTU / Providance champ game...for me it gets old to see those two fight for that champs. I will be there as usual in my black and yellow striped bib overalls. GO HUSKIES!!!

Man this is getting very ridiculous, the game was 2 days ago and people are still discussing this. The Wings won, Z got a hat trick and Hasek got a shutout, be happy for these things and move on. Everyone else has. Stop trying to preach to the choir. (This is basically going out to those who thought it was a dirty play)

I think increasing the rink size to olympic (international) size would greatly help out and leave the goal size the same. It would give more room for the puck to move around, which could cause defence to move away from the net and increase scoring chances. I think it would work here because it works all over the world. Now I'm not an advociate for increasing scoring, but the more popular sports in the US all have high scores (outside of baseball which is our past time sport). Most international sports like hockey and soccer all are usually low scoring games this is one of the main reasons I see that they really haven't caught on here in the US. One of my old boss told me that one of his main reason for not watching hockey is because of the low scoring.

Well also you have to look at how many Detroit fans show up at away games. There is usually about a third of Wing fans at the away game (my guess and no actual stats for this). There is just a large Detroit fan base at most games. This should also be taken into the conderation.

I wouldn't be surprised if it came down to all Canadian teams in the Quarter finals. Cause it looks like that will happen.

What is with the Lord of the Ring comment. When did watching a 3 hour movie and the Oscar awards become a sport? They should just stick to the things that they show or showed on the station. If I wanted to watch a station that delt with comedy I would not pick ESPN for my first choice unless they were showing something about hockey (since they don't really know much about the sport).

I've got Vaughn for most of my goalie equipment. CCM skates and helmet (I wear a regular helmet with a cat-eye cage). And my stick is anyone that I fell comfortable hold with being 6'4".

And this only because the 3 "experts" all voted for Jeter. Sid won with the fans.

I don't think will be since both of these guys are professionals. There was not much awkwardness between Hasek and Hall about the goal since I think that year they were roommates while on the road. There item's that are in the past and should not back looked at for future references.

Why didn't someone let me know that the season started already? Oh my bad, but with the way people are talking on here you could swear the season had started and that Detroit was near the bottom of the league. Right now with what is on the UFA list there might not be anyone who Kenny think would fit with the team. There are also RFA that might not get picked up by their team for a new contract, so for right now the options are not good pickings. Things might look up the further into the summer we go, and let the season start before criticizing player that either few people have seen play or hasn't played that many games in the NHL. They might surprise you.

I started playing street hockey in grade school then started playing ice hockey when I got into college (@ MTU also where I learned how to skate). I would love to get back into it but I just don't have the money or time to even think about getting on to a team. I know some would take only because I'm one of those insane players (goalie).
