I personally like the white jersey's better then the dark jersey's, but hey why change something that has been around that long.

I like it. The bolder black line add more to design, IMO.

I don't think that getting rid of the offside rule would help that much unless the refs are really going to call the cluch and grab penalties. I don't want to see the offside rule taken out because one main thing is that all hockey players, pros and ametures, are taught that the puck must cross the blue line fully before the player crosses the blue line. I think the best thing to get more shots to the goal is by keeping players from dropping in front player shooting the puck. But it will never happen, because they would create another penalty that refs probably won't call. I don't think there is anything thats going to change except for hopefully the refs are more strict in their calling of penalties.

What do you expect when Versus lied to us?

They even have the wrong time listed on their web page of all places.

I think that the NHL needs to do more then just getting on a good station, (don't give me wrong but being on a station that will advertise more for the games will help out a lot). I think the NHL needs to sponsor hockey camps in areas that have an NHL team. And they don't have to only have ice hockey camps because that would only limit it to those areas that have ice hockey leagues, but include inline hockey leagues. With something like this it could increase a communities interest in the sport. I didn't get into the sport because I watched it but becasue I was playing a type of hockey (street hockey). I know some teams like the Wings do have camps but thats only a couple areas. I have to disagree with the people who want to see the southern teams get moved to a more "hockey friendly" area. Are you going to say that those people who used to live in the north but moved to the south, because of work or something else, are not good enough to be able to have a chance to see an NHL game if they could. For people living in Michigan more are moving out of the state to find work and I most likely will be moving out to get good work in the Electrical Engineering field. I hope that where I move to they will have Ice Hockey but if not I hope they have Inline Hockey because hockey is hockey to me.

Versus did have a NHL show on at night but it was on at around 1:00am (EST) and I doubt anyone will stay up that late to watch it. I know this show was on during the post-season but I don't know if they had it on during the regular season.

There is a team in the West that has to travel more then 500 miles when ever they have to play any other teams away from home, Dallas. Long travels come with most the teams in the West. Even though Pittsburg is closer moving them would take away most of the in state team rival with Philly. Too much history between those teams when compared with Atlanta and any of the teams in the south, but hey anything is possible right now. Preds are still in Nashville and no changes are going on right now with any teams geographically.

I just have a feeling that if the Preds are moved then they most likely will be put into the East Conf. and then the team to take their place in the West would Atlanta. I say this because Atlanta is almost in line with Detroit and Columbus. Then they would also take Nashville's spot in the Central Division. This is just my logical guess of what could happen.

You know you're a Detroit Red Wings fan if...

by the end of the playoff season your jersey can stand up by itself. -
Who is your favorite all time player, AND your favorite active player?
MonkeyGoalie replied to a topic in General
I've been playing goal for years now so my all time favorite players are goalies and the one that tops the list is Hasek. I really enjoyed watching him play, before he even came to Detroit, due to his style of play. -
I'm new to the board. I know these have been stated before but Giggy is very good positional goalie mostly due to his size. His main down fall is that if you get him moving then he has a hard time making the save. The only thing that helped him with that this past series was his team cut down on the passing lanes. If he didn't have that help I don't think he would've done as well as he did.
