I'm glad Utah doesn't do this but it would be interesting to see a grizzly bear walking around on the ice...lol

Which is why about half, or more, of my time reading things on here all I can do is shake my head :-D -

Man I guess some people on here aren't very happy people...they complain that Holland doesn't do anything and they complain when he does something. I personally will not say how good or bad this was until they hit the ice. -
That whole thing just made me take anything that the league says with a grain of salt.
-
And I think, if I remember this correctly, that one of the things the league was going to crack down on after the lockout was diving and look how far that went.

The Sharks love by the Versus commentators made me find a different stream so now I'm watching a TSN feed

I agree with you with that..when i was there I would stop by a friends room at TKD on 1st floor DHH...but to watch the game in Fisher would have been awesome.

I have always thought it was pathetic that anyone could cross check Homer all night and not get called but you do it once to other players and it called -
So let me guess the Nucks announcers talk about the Wings during every single Nucks games. Any team announcer will talk about their team the most and the team they are playing that night the rest of the time. So if I watch a Nucks game, that the Wings aren't playing them, and not hear their announcers not talk about the Wings then can I piss about it?

well that should learn the players to become friends of the skips from their country during the Olympics.

I loved seeing some good laughter from Babcock in that curling story, and Homer looked sad to as Babcock is laughing at him...lol

So wait a minute, your saying that those that don't watch the WC aren't true hockey fans. Even though neither of the teams in the WC represent the state of MI when there are 2 MI teams playing at the same time in bowl games and for those who cheer for MI teams will watch these more then the WC. My family and I would rather cheer for teams from our state then get sick to our stomach with the slobbering that would take place in the WC.

I would like to see the Sharks win next round but lose in the SCF. I'm only doing this because since the 2002 season either the Wings or the team that beat the Wings have gone onto the SCF. Just so the road to the SCF in the west would still go through Detroit. ;-D

There is no team or individual out there that deserve to win the Cup, a team has to earn it. And to earn it they have to win 16 times.

The rule is not clear that only enforcers should be the only ones involved in the rule. As you have posted the rule it states that "A player or goalkeeper who is deemed to be the instigator of an altercation in the final five (5) minutes of regulation time or at anytime in overtime, shall automatically be suspended for one game." Cause last time I knew there are more then just enforcers playing hockey. IMO, they only put the whole thing with the Director of Hockey Operations is so they can chose who they think should be dealt the repercussion, (which to me is a cop out). This is just one of many gray area rules that the NHL rules book has in it.

Good for Dom, still wish he would have worn the Winged Wheel for several more years. I still wear his jersey on most game days.

I personally would like to see a Wild vs Stars WC in Minny. The Old Minny team vs the New Minny team.

I loved hearing the announcer say it was hard for him to pick is All-Star Irish team when 3 of the 5 played for the wing (Shanny, Murph, and Kelly).

To me what is the most frustrating about the reffing and the calls are that the types being made aren't in the rule book. In this day and age of the NHL a hooking is called when a players stick is parallel to the ice surface but in the official rule book hooking is: 55.1 Hooking - Hooking is the act of using the stick in a manner that enables a player or goalkeeper to restrain an opponent. When a player is checking another in such a way that there is only stick-to-stick contact, such action is not to be penalized as hooking. The part that I bolded is the part that most refs do not follow. I don't know if this is due to the NHL management being lenient on the calls being made or maybe they don't care how calls are made as long as money is being made. Who knows, but I'll still keep watching the Red Wings play. -
The one thing the stuck out to me in Murphy's little interview was when he stated it wasn't the first time something like this has happened. OK so since this wasn't the first time then why didn't the league do something to keep this from happening again? It just makes the league even more bush league-ish to me.

I think the worse thing out of this whole thing is that is very minimal reports about it in the media. This in turn, I believe, allows the NHL to maintain their less then mediocure approach to the rules of the game and how they are allowed to be interpreted.
-
Exactly.

Like many have already stated I don't think it's a conspiracy but incompetence by the refs and the league. I myself am so sick and tired of the "intent to blow the whistle" rule. We are the only pro sport out there who gives the refs an excuss to overturn a score. The refs should only be able to over turn anything if the whistle is actually blown before the puck crosses the goal. And another thing about the refs that get to me is how so many times the back ref will call a penalty when the ref standing right there never called it. They need to give the refs to talk each other and over turn a bad call, just like how NFL refs will talk to each other and they overturn flags.

I know this is OT but I love the Labview schematics of a digital control system for a cruise control.
