They had it last year and the year before that for sure. I went to them both. @ years ago it was at comerica park againsnt Tiger vetrans. Last year it was against a fire or police department i cant remember. My girlfriend and i are trying to make it a tradition to go every year. I havent heard anything about it this year though. Im sure they will have one, and im sure its going to be CRAZY after the Hype the cup is bringing in. But if anyone has any info on it this year i would love to know!

hey, i too will be going away, attending MSU, so i have been facing the same issue. I also work at Best Buy, so i may have a solution for some of you guys. You can watch and control cable from you parents place on your laptop free of charge. The way i figure it, if you are going to pay 150 for the CI package plus your regualr cable bill, but your parents are already doing it at there place its a waste of money. As long as you have a computer, which im sure all college students these days do, youre pretty much set. If you have a TV with an S-video or a flat panel LCD Tv with VGA, DVI or HDMI you can hook the computer right up to it and watch it like you are watching your own cable...only free. haha. Just thought i would throw my two cents in there since some of you are saying your paretns get the CI package anyways and others are saying that they dont have Versus where they are going. This would solve both problems. It basically streams a TV cable connection to an internet website that you would log into, so all you really need is an internet connection. You can change the channel directly from your compuer. Kind of cool and convienent. Im thinking about doing it so i can watch some TV in the middle of class when the teachers are babbling on about some nonesense. haha.

i didnt see this posted yet and if it is then i apologize and please merge me. But i was just wondering if anyone knew when tickets would be going on sale. I really want to get the home opener tickets because A) we see the banner get raised and B) its against the leafs whom i love! Also i was wondering if the Winter Classic tickets will be going on sale when the rest of the season tickets go on sale. Also if i remember correctly, when buffalo and pitss did the winter classic i thought i heard something about them only allowing people who either lived in Buffalo or Pitts to purchase the tickets since it was such a big deal. I was wondering if this was going to be the same circumstances for the Winter Classic this year? Anyways, if anyone has any info i would really appreciate it! Thanks

Yeah i didnt get it either, maybe because we are from Detroit that has alot to do with cars and "Horsepower" or some s***. But that would work better with the Pistons not the wings, so maybe i dont know what the hell im talking about

Yeah i remember the Buffalo tickets selling out reall quick but you could get them on ebay up until the actual game. They only ran about 100 a ticket on ebay. Of course that was buffalo and Pitts....not the Red wings and hawks so im sure they will be harder to come by and a little more pricey...

The dan cleary song at the end was priceless too! Its amazing to see so many people, a whole province, rally behind him. Its one thing to see a city of detroit show up for the whole team and everything, but he just had so many people there just for one person. It had to be an amazing feeling for him. He deserves it.

Man thank god Gaborik is an UFA after this season. That city just does not know how to build a team, they let two great players like Rolston and Demitra go who helped hold that team together, and now a great player like Gaborik, young and talented, is now screwed because hes looking around and now has noone around him. Hope he ends up with a cup contender next year. The wild dont deserve him. The same can be said for Buffalo and Ryan miller....

I like Hossa as much as the next guy, but i havent seen him play in a wings uniform yet. He might not do so well here. Although history shows that he can play just about anywhere. But i dot like the idea of having to lose Flip in order to keep him long term. I like Flip and i think that he could be a Hossa type player in a few years and if we can get him locked up longterm before he hits that stardom for a cheap rate, than to me that makes sense. But Flip is far from being Hossa right now, i would just hate to see us lose Flip and than have him turn out to be an allstar when he gets a little more expereince.

i like avery, but i know alot of people have bad feelings about him and dont want him back. But now that he may be going to another West Coast team and we will have to playhim more often dont you have the feeling of "i wish we had him on our team just so that we wouldnt have him on the oposing team 8 times a year"? Not even a little?

Is it just me or are some of these contracts worth way to much damn money... I love Malone but an average of 4.5 mil a year Mike Green for 5.25 mil? and Corey Perry for 5.35 per year? These are all skilled players dont get me wrong, but these guys are being well over paid. I think we even overpaid Stuart...dont get me wrong he could have gottan alot more from another team, but i think that in Detroit he is getting paid pretty well what he brings to the table. Malone is a great player but not worth 4.5 million yet. I mean if you are going to give him that im terrified to see what we are going to have to give flip and franzen. I think the only decent signing so far has been Dupuis. They got him for 1.4 million? Thats a good signing, maybe even an under payment. Anyone else think these are extreme overpayments for some of these players?

Oh i was under the impression that we only had enough money to sing a rolston or Sundin if Stuart wasnt resigned. Ill be stoked if we can still add a big name forward, so hopefully you are right. But im guessing all the people that were hoping to get Sundin AND Rolston are now dissapointed, unless there we still have a crap load of money left, but i dont think we have that much.

Do you think its the cause of the players being more greedy or the GM's trying to stay competitive and offer the best deal regardless of how ridiculous the price is? Or is it just the fact that the Caps go up every year so there is more money to throw around?

I think Tampa was just in a hurry to sign some "bigger" names before free agency. I think they are so desperate to imrpove that they will overpay just about anyone that could make them a little bit better. I think Maloone will be good for them but not for a contract that gives him 4.5 mill average...Perry is a little ***** and i dont see him developing into anything other than a good agitator with a little scoring touch in the future. Greens good and all but i didnt think he was going to be banking 5+ mill. Im still hung on Stuart, i cant decide if i am glad that we have a great defense now or depressed because now we have less money for a Rolston or Sundin....decisions decisions

Yeah something tells me that if they trade for the rights 24 hours before hand than they probably have a pretty sweet proposal for him that they want him to see before the big day....I hope Rolston wants to come to Detroit because im sure hes on Hollands radar as well, of course, we cant offer him what Tampa will...Come on Brian hold out for one more day and come to detroitttttttttttt

Haha yea i saw that too. Funny how having your rights traded away and almost hitting free agency drops 10 years off your age....hope he doesnt sign with them, i really want him. If he does sign with them than Tampa has some good talent....on offense atleast. Could certainly use some defense.
