this is BS. The refs didnt blow the whistle when cleary touched the puck when we had a delayed penalty coming up, but Dallas doesnt even touch the puck and we hear a whistle on their delayed penalty, Going to be a long night....

wings seem to be playing on their heels a little bit. Usually we dont look like this till the 3rd when we are protecting a lead. We need to be more offensive. They need to gain pck control. If they cant get the pcuk, they cant play their style of hockey. Kind of scary. Dallas looking really hungry. We need a goal to cool them down, even if its a freak goal i dont even care!

i know this is way off topic, and im not trying to take away from the post, but what is vladdy's status? I know his wife was divorcing him and that he was trying to sue the ford company, but how is he doing? The only thing i can find is that he needs constant care. I know he suffered serious head injuries, but is he legally retarded and slow? Or are his head injuries mearly injuries that affect aspects such as speach and movement? Can he still comprehend whats going on or what? Whenever i see him he has that look on his face like hes not sure whats going on, but i cant find any information as to whether he knows where he is and what hes going or not. Im just curious and im not trying to be rude or anything.

I was watching the philly/ pitts game and at the end i was listening to Don cherry talk about something he said earlier. I didnt catch the earlier conversation but he was correcting what he said beore by saying that Mules arent castrated they are born sterile or something along those lines. I dont know why he was talking about it, but the only thing i could think of was him bashing Franzen for someting. Did anything catch the whole conversation and the meaning behind it? Was it Cherry just bashing the wings again, or was it just reckless bable that he is so accustomed to?

Well that could be taken a few different ways. Yeah it could have meant that he may retire. But you also have to factor in the fact that the schedules arent always original 6 friendly. We dont get to play there every year. He may have taken that into consideration as well....

alright ive been watching this game (as well as all the playoff games this year and i just am getting sick of seeing Crosby's playoff "dirty Sanchez" Stache. The kid is 21 years old, shouldnt he be able to grow some decent facial hair? or atleast have the decency to shave it off knowing he looks like pedro from Napolean Dynamite? Its humerous, but at a point it just becomes sad...

Oh yeah, i forgot, im sure Morrow is a great person, and i love watching him as a player, but man i just cant beleive he could take the C from Modano....i hate him just a little bit for that! Although the team has ran smoothly since the change, i still think Modano leads that team along with Morrow...

Morrow is good, i just dont think the wings should be affraid of him. Fact is, the whole team has been playing out of its mind, even Turco has been clutch which is unlike him in the playoffs haha. Im not scared of just one guy, i think the whole team is scary. They had two great series wins, taking out two strong teams. Underdogs in both in many books. Im glad we are playing the stars, they are one of my favorite teams, and i think its going to be a great series. As much as we should be scared of morrow and the stars, dallas should be terrified of the wings, who have been smelling the cup all year. Dont forget, all the "experts" were calling us the underdogs in both of our series.....

you're worried about morrow? If thats the case, than Dallas should be worried about Franzen.....who has been on a bigger tear than Morrow, and has a better chance of keping up the pace!

I know that Dmac would probably be out if Malts is in, but i cant help but want to see him play with Malts.....id rather sit Helm. But you are defeintly right, his PH skills alone are reason enough to insert him in the lineup!

40-45 goals for Franzen seems kind of high, but not totally unrealistic of he can play the way he played the last month of the regualr season and how he is playing now in playoffs. Im thinking probably around 30-35 is more reasonable, but 40-45 would sure be nice! If he keeps getting paired on the 2nd line or even the 1st line depending on how they mix up lines, he could have a career best year next year.

No one is asking you to understand it, just asking you to respect it and not to treat everyone else like crap for stating their opinion.... Never said he was a great player. Said he was a guy that would stick up for his team, and he does that. Now should he be brought in during the next series? Probably not because we would be playing Dallas or SJ who are not big Goon" teams. But do i think he should have played a game or two against nashville? Yeah because they arent a very classy team and could have gooned ip up at any time, and to have a guy that would go out there and fight if need be would have been nice to have. Should he have dressed and played during the Avs game? Probably not, most of there goons stayed undercover. But i wouldnt have minded seeing him taking out Ian Laperriere again for that hit on lidstrom, or possibly take down forsberg after that slash to sammys face. Now are we going to have to worry about goons in the next two rounds? No, not unless me make it to the finals and so does Philly. So im not saying he should play because hes skilled and a great hockey player. Im saying after all the playing time he got in the regualr season (game wise not Icetime wise) it would have been nice to see him get to play an erarly playoff game. Alright, i hear what everyone is saying. We have good chemistry as a team right now and why change it going into the nect round. Many of you are praising Helm, which i will admit, he has been good (and really good if you factor in the fact that he came and is playing so well in playoffs as a rookie who didnt play alot with this team during the regualr season). However, i havent seen a whole lot from him that has screaed "great" player yet. And i dont think we will seeing he is a rookie. Even if he turns out to be a star like Dats and Z, we didnt see a whole lot froom them till their 2nd full season here. So im not saying he wont be a great player, i just havent seen it yet. With that said, i think we are going to need a great PK playing a team like Dallas. Ive been watching them through the first round and the whole second round so far, and it seems like everytime they go on the popwer play they spend the entire time inthe offensive zone. They dont always score, b ut the pressure is ALWAYS there. I think we are going to want to strengthen our PK if we go into a series with them. I dont think sitting Dmac for Maltby is the answer. I think the best person to sit would be helm. Now i know this isnt a Downey thread, but i really think we should get him in the lineup once during playoffs. We rode this guy all the way during the regualr season, and he did everything we could have asked from him. Stuck up fro his team, agitated the other team, and was just a great clubhouse guy. Hes got a great attitude, and i think Dmac should sit one or twice for Downey. With all that said, i think we all know babcock well enough and know hes not going to change anything till we lose. Which i cant really blame him for, but man i really want to see maltby in there regularly, and i would like to see downey in once or twice...

Haha good post. I love hearing that kind of stuff. However, i think he would have to repeat himself more than twice for people to actually pick up everything he says...his english is still very bad haha.

If its because you are busy with finals and such right now, i dont think we are starting for a week or two, so if thats the reason, i wouldnt drop your team just yet. I was having the same issue as i am the GM of dallas. Fianls are here this week and next, but like i said there are alot of players still available and i dont think we are going to start for a few more weeks since we are still trying to tweak the rules and gameplay and get all the NHL'ers represented.

I see what you mean. The only thing is i dont think all the players re going to be accounted for by agents. I thought a draft would be a good way to make sure all the players were represented. Maybe if there wasa draft for the remaining NHL'ers and whoever agents have now can be kept...although then a draft would seem useless since alot of the BIG names guys are already taken...i dunno. Might be a lost cause haha. I just thought it would help organize everything a little smoother since it seems its getting quite large.

Im a huge Sundin fan, so it would be a real shame for him to retire. At the same time, i have been hearing that there is some tension between him and the organization. I thought they didnt really want him back hence the reason they didnt get a contract extension worked out and all the rumors about the trade deadline. With that said, i would hate to see him out of a leafs uniform, and i know he is very loyal, but if the organization doesnt want him, and he can still play (which i dont think is an issue at all) why should he face retirement? I see many of you are comparing him to Sakic or Yzerman, but yzernam always had the loyalties of the organization. Yes, there were trade talks pretty much every year during the begning of his career, but towards the end of his career, the coaches, managers and owners all welcomed Stevie back year after year, and were sad to see him finally retire. I dont think that Sundin has this same relationship with the leafs. He takes alot of criticism "running" that team, and you can see that it has weard on him. If he does come back i would like to see him go out with a bang and a smile on his face. I think he would just enjoy the game 10000 X's more if he went to a team where he wasnt the *ALL STAR BEST PLAYER ON THE TEAM*. He wouldnt have to worry about all the pressure, and he could just have fun like playing hockey is suppose to be. With that said........the wings have MANY all stars and Sundin would fit right in with the swedes.....and the pressure is gone. + cup contending team.....I would build him a house in michigan with my own bare hands for him and his wife as part of the negotiating contract......

Man this game is getting bigger and more crazy than i thought! Haha. Just a few thoughts/opinions Someone has mentioned an idea of setting up an "Agents Draft". I am not an agent, so my opinion may mean nothing to anyone that is an Agent, but i feel that a draft is a good idea for the agents. It was kind of lame that it was first come first served with the players. There are hundreds of players yes, but there are on maybe 100-200 players worth actually representing in a game like this. And for those who joined late or are still going to join, well they have lost out on alot of players that are good to represent. So maybe a draft would fix that problem. Also, with a draft, you could just keep drafting untill all the players are gone rather than continuing to cahgne the amount of players are allowed to be represented by one agent. Now with that said, it may be a big hassle for whoever has to organize it haha. Secondly, i just had some questions on contracts. Are we going to honor cotrcts tht have no trade clauses? Im still confused as to how trades and signings can take place. Can we buyout contracts, if so how will that work? I guess maybe a briefing on what a GM would have to do in certain situations would help me. The closest thing i have done to this is fantasy hockey, and this is MUCH more advanced. The rules on the front page help a little bit, but there is still alot of confusion on my part, and im sure there are others that are in the same boat as me.

Philly is my Eastern team! They had a great offseason and a good pickup at the deadline. I picked them from day 1 to make the playoffs. Of course i didnt think they would get passed the first round....but man they really have suprised even me, and im a fan of theirs! (of course im a wings fan first!) But man they are playing some good hockey against some good teams. I hope to see them in the finals, but if they make to them and they play us, i hope they dont good it up to much! I like having our players healthy haha. Hopefully Steve Downie will be suspended by than and we wouldnt have to wrry about it. haha. Good luck!
