I dont feel i look like Zetterberg at all, but i gave it a shot to try and win some playoff tickets! So i gave it a shot and i was just wondering if anyone else tried this. If so, have you heard anything from the wings as far as results or anything?

haha im hoping that not to many people tried it. The contest was only opened for like 2 days. And if not alot of people did it, i might be able to pull it off haha. I just want playoff tickets, and i would just about anything to get them. I bought first round tickets, but unfortuanetly am to broke to buy 2nd round, and i reall would love to see a wings Avs playoff game....

This is why i love playoff hockey! For the most part we get guys on these boards that come from other team affliliations that are smart and love hockey. This is what i love to see! I love being able to talk to these people, because i love hockey almost as much as i love the wings, and to be able to talk about it with other teams fans is great. Now with that said, lets get down to the post! I watched every game of the Minny Avs series and i have to say that the Avs had the upper hand the entire time in my book. To be honest i think that Sakic was the most productive player that the avs had, and he really kept his team in most of those games. But sakic has always been a player like that. As for FLOPPA.....as much as i hate to say it, i have to agree with you on him. The guy has played well pretty much every playoff game. he has given the Avs quite a push as well, and i did see on more than one ocassion where he did look like the Floppa of old. If he plays that way against detroit i feel that it will be an awesome series. Now as for Smyth. If there are people out there that think this guy sucks....well then they are crazy. If the're are wings fans that are out there that think he sucks, they are eeven more crazy. This guy plays the same game that Homer does, and is just as productive. Not to mention the boy can play a very gritty game. I wanted him at the trade deadline the last few years in a row. As much as i hated him in the Oilers jersey, i cant help but imagine waht he would look like in a wings one.....oh dreams! Anyways, hes always been a great player, and although he hasnt put up his usual playoff numbers yet doesnt mean he wont! As for defense, i do agree that we have the advantage there. At the same time, against the preds our defense was our biggest weakness in our 2 losses. We let our poor defense beat ourselves. If we can sttay strong at the point the whole series, well than this is going to be a pretty damn good series. As for goaltending.....jose was nothing short of perfect in the first round, and he kept his team in the game and gav them a little spark. But like you were saying, his consistency hasnt always been great. Im praying that his first round was a fluke and hegoes back to old inconsistent self this series. haha. With that said, Ozzie and Hasek have both had their fair shares of inconsistency. Ozzie didnt look good going into or coming out of hte allstar break this year, but other than a few games like that he has looked great. And he looked stellar against hte preds. Im hoping he brings that same game to the Avs. Ozzie always seems to play his best gamess when he is having fun. I think a series against the avs is exactly what a this guy needs to keep morale up. An old Rivalry like this will make ozzie feel like a kid again and be all smiles hopefully! Im hoping this series sparks alot of these older guys. Anyways. Its going to be a great series, and we'd appreciate it if you stuck around after the series regarless of the outcome. Its refreshing to talk to other fans who are smart. Cheers :beerbuddy:

Man sometimes when i read what babcock has to say i just get shocked. The thought that this guy would not play maltby even if he was ready....that just baffles me. I understand the team played well last game, but Maltby is one of the best PK'ers in the league and you dont know if you want to play him in the playoffs? Does that make sense to anyone? I understand that hes not going to score many goals and what not, but you need this physical guy in your lineup. If i recall correctly, maltby plays some of his best hockey in the playoffs, not to mention we are playing the AVS. The rivalry is right around the corner and you need a guy like malts i nthe lineup. Now i may be biased because im a huge maltby fan, but this is just crazy reading that babs might not play him even if he is ready.

That was awesome. I miss both of those former wings! Shanny was always one of my gavs....and avery....well hes just avery and hes awesome haha. Good exposure for the team and the sport. It makes me happy to see stuff like this!

boo for early weekend games! I work almost every saturday morning, and its annoying that i have to miss the games! Boo on that!

I am stoked to play the avs1 for two reasons. 1) goold ol rivalry 2) we dont have to play the sharks yet. We get to make the shrks battle the stars ( and i think the stars can beat then) and then if we get passed the Avs we can play the stars who have Turco whom the wings have just dominated his entire career! Im excited. I almost wish tomarrow was thursday....which technically it is since its 1 in the morning now....but in my mind i know its still 2 days away.....depressing. I want Red wings Hockey now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He said his legs feel pretty good, i wouldnt be surprised to see him back next season regardless of what happens for the sharks this postseason....atleast i hope hes not done!

He will forever be one of the greats. JR is just one of those guys that reminds me of the glory days, even though he spent most of his good years in a blackhawks jersey i cant help but just love this guy and how he plays the game! Long Live JR. JR for PREZ

thats why im praying for a sharks win so we take on colorado. That way the stars can take out the sharks and then we play the stars who we are very good against especially against Turco who just gets slaughtered by wings players.

i love seeing a guy like nolan beating up on his former team. The guys has been awesome his entire career and its nice to see him still scoring against the sharks. He will always be one of my favs. With that said......the flames need to lose this one hahaha. I want to play the avs and give the stars the sharks to play. It would just be more convienient for us. Not easier, just a better route in my mind.

i dont post during games as well for the same reason1 Its crazy how supersticious us athletes are! No big loss though, whenever i posted during the game, the games always seemed to go by faster, i like to enjoy the games so not posting doesnt really bother me!
