Alright, well before I start, let me say that many of you may agree with me but most of you probably wont. Now with that in mind allow me to start. So who has been terrible for years….. I think we are all in agreement that the Flyers have been just awful these last few years (unless you count the games that the wings play them, in which case they become a very tough team haha). But anyways, they have had a terrible record lately. But I think that this is the year they turn it around. Now I have been thinking this for a long time now, but watching the first period of tonight’s game has kind of added to the fire. No other team went out this offeason and upgraded better than I believe the flyers did. They got a great goal scorere with Briere and they put him on a line with Gagne who is just lethal. Mike Knuble adds leadership to that line and its just devastating so far. They are looking strong. They have also added leadership in the acquisition of Jason smith, a solid player who is recently named captain. The only weakness I see so far is a goaltender. And when I say weakness I mean “could be better†Martin Biron is a fine good goaltender, but the Flyers haven’t had the best defense in the last few years, which has made any goalie the have had llok like dan cloutier out there. I think if Biron gets a little help from his defense (which with the acquisitions of smith and Timonen and the departure of Pitkanen, might be possible) he might have a solid season. Don’t take this the wrong way, I’m not saying they are going to win the cup right now, but I don’t see them finishing last in the league this year, which is a huge improvement, and who knows, the playoffs may even be in their future. What do you guys think?

i totally agree about Biron, i drafted him as well in 2 of my 3 leagues. Im putting alot a faith in him and the flyers upgraded defense. I hope it works out.

How does that not make them Studs based off of last years Flyers?

He's probably the one free agent that i wouldnt the wings picking up, and also may be the most realistic accorinding to rumors that are circulating, im about two seconds from getting a rolston #12 red wings jersey because im so excited of the possibility of getting him! hes been one of my favorite players over the years, and the fact that hes from here makes it even better, i can only dream......

i was reading a post in the rumor forums and i saw that rolston was a free agent next year and the wings are in the front runnings to bring him here. wouldnt that be sweet to bring the flint native home and have two hometown boys on the team? it also wouldnt hurt that he is a playmaker either. Lebda is one guy that really suprised me last year. I guess he doesnt really get alot of attention because he plays on a team with a bunch of allstars. You have zetterberg, dats, and lidstrom. Because we have these star players, alot of the character guys go unnoticed. It doesnt mean that these guys arent appreciated, its just how it is. Ledba is probably one of our best skaters, rearely gets beat to any puck, and has a scoring touch that kronner lacks. I remeber on atleast two occasions last year when lebda took the puck from behind our own net and went end to end with the puck all by himself and finished it with the puck in the back of the net. He doesnt pack a powerful shot, but has decent scoring ability. Most of all, he stays relatively healthy, something that kornner seems to lack again. He is quickly turning into one of my favorite wings. However, like i said, sometimes his talent goes unnoticed, much like the rest of our character players. I think with the right amount of ice time he could definetly contribute alot of points to the team, but needs to become a little more solid on defense before that will happen. He hits a little bit, but not alot, and if he could step up the hitting a little bit ( im not saying he should drop the gloves every five seconds, but just throw some more hip checks and stuff) it would add more to his game with his speed and scoring ability.

I agree, Lang has been killer in all of the games i have played with him. i think the creators bashed Chelios more than they did lang, but none the less kind of funny. I cant wait to play this game though, it looks AWESOME, ihope that the graphics are just as good for PS2 when it comes out.
