Ive watched Ryan Smyth play for years, and he plays nothing like yzerman. Have you seen smyth play?

i may be partial, but i think comparing smyth to Stevie Y is an insault to Steve. Stevie Y led by example and was very loyal. They also play much different hockey, smyth tends to be more agressive, and stevie was more of a skills/playmaker type player. Im not attacking you at all, Smyth is a great player, but not a Stevie Y type player in my book. Also i think Homers goals have been padded due to being on a line with Z and dats, but the man works for every single goal that he does get, and he also makes Z and dats better aswell. They work off of eachother, and they all benefit from eachother which is the purpose of a team.

He plays the same style of hockey as homer, but might hae a better set of hands (but not by much). However, for the price we pay homer, he is obviously the better candidate in my book. Smyth tends to get more goals i think, but id rather have homer on my squad.

ive been preaching about this guy since the end of playoffs, so yes i would love to have him here. However, many of you are saying that he would likely get close to 4 million due to arbitrations.....i dont know if we have that kid of money to spend on him. This year we do have that kind of money, but would we offer just a one year deal to a young guy with talent like him? I think he would be looking for something more long term. I think kenny's priority right now is zetterberg, which is why he is saving so much of him money right now. He wants to be ready with lots of money for the negotiations with him. Do i want cammy here? With out a doubt....is it likely to happen? Probably not. he would help the team, but i dont know if holland and him could come to an agreement to please both sides. As for trading Flip for Penner? WHAT? First off, flip has the potential to be the next zetterberg. Lots of talent. I dont think he should be going anywhere. Secondly, even if a trade were possible, what makes you think that anahiem would be so quick to deal with us? And even if they were to work something out do you think that anaheim is going to have a straight up trade for just flip? Even with flips potential, i dont think anaheim would be doing a straight up trade after the year penner had. I dunno, i dont think penner is worth our future star, regardless of his size.

ya know, at first i was upset that markov wasnt coming back. But now the more i think about it....id say let him walk. The biggest whole we had this offseason on the blue line was going to be matty's. Rafalski filled that gap nicely for me, and now we have one last whole with markov. The wings have said over and over that they dont want to resign him long term anyways. So i say if he doesnt take a one year deal under 3 million we should let him walk and let some of the youngins get some time on ice because they are after all going to be taking the spot eventually anyways rather it be next season or now. Id say our biggest whole as a team is a second line forward. That and some grit. We showed that we can compete without having much grit in the playoffs so im not as worried about that as i used to be. I think we save the money that Markov rejects and give it to selanne or forsberg for a one year deal. I wouldnt give either of them anything long term because forsberg cant usually stay healthy long enough to play more than 1 season and selanne, although still phenomenal, is at the end of his career. 1 year deal for either of these guys would help the wings tremendously. I dont like the idea of waiting till the trade deadline mailny because that means we have to TRADE. As of right now i like our team and i like the youth we have in our system. I dont want to have to give anyone up for a second line forward when we can easily snag someone that is on the free agent market right now for money rather than a trade. It effects chemistry, and for the most part it takes atleast half a season for a new comer to settle into his own with a new team. Not to metnion if we were to wait till the trade deadline we would more than likely only be looking for someone for the rest of the season again. So we would be trading talent or youth for a "rent a player" that would most likely not resign with us. I say snag forsberg or selanne and fill the void now rather than trade away our talent at the deadline and take our chances. This is just my opinion and many of you probably wont agree with me so let the bashing start now....to make it easier on you guys i will say that i was and will always be a lang supporter.....

what is wrong with some of you people? You didnt like Robert Lang. We get it. Now hes gone. Move the hell on. You know, all you did was bash him when he was here and all you wanted us to do was trade him or get rid of him, now we have and yet you are still here bashing him. What does the man have to do to get you off his back? We all know you dont respect him yada yada yada, Pick a new goat and talk about him. Oh and just give the man some props because he was phenomenal in my book while he was here. You will say hes lazy and he sucks.....but i think we all know he wasnt the fastest guy out there, doesnt make him lazy just makes him slow, he still put the puck in the net even though in your book he was "lazy". He gave the puck up....hockey is all about keeping and taking the puck away. Its part of the game. Some people are good at keeping it....others arent so good at it. Is he as skillful as dats or zata? No, but he could still score. I guess to sum it all up.......LET IT GOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Im neither impressed or depressed about our losses or pick ups. I am ganna miss Bert because i think he would have been stellar this year, but it was to much of a risk to take for the money, so we will see how it goes for him in anaheim. I liked calder but he tailed off towards the end, and it seemed like Babcock had something against him so he would have been wasted talent here. Rafalski was a good pcik up, but not as good of a shot from the point as matty. Good passer, better defense, but not as good of a shot, so a fair trade off i suppose. Dallas Drake i guess will make our third like stronger, he does the same thing as Maltby just alot dirtier, which i hate when on another team but might appreciate when hes in a wings uniform (again). So im waiting on judgment with him. Im intersted in seeing how much of these young guys step up, so we will see how it goes.

I just read on another site that there was a rumor going around that holland is trying to deal for whitney and kozlov to create a second like of flip kozzy and whitney. Take it for what its worth..... Doesnt make sense to me, since we gave up on whitney long ago (for what reason i do not know, he was amazing i thought) And also i heard that kozlov has narrowed his decision down to dallas or toronto and would be announcing by sundown tomarrow. So i dont know how reliable this rumor is. I have no source, just merely a rumor from another site, seeing if anyone else has heard anything about this. I would like the signing if it happened but i just dont see it going down.

Yeah well sometimes i feel like he doesnt know whats going on like his head is floating in the clouds while the game is going on on the ice so it kind of makes sense.

Vanek, Derek Roy, Parise and for some reason i reallllly want Mike Cammalleri, i think he could put up some good numbers on our second line and might get him cheap at his young(er) age.

So what do the wings do now? Losing Bertuzzi was a crushing blow for me. We have now lost: Matty Lang Calder Bertuzzi Possibly Markov Still now signing on hasek Bootland Possibly Hudler(to russia) Stephen Liv Meech Langfeld Hussey We have gained .... Rafalski We have about 10 million give or take to play with. What do we do? Do we spend the money trying to resign some of our UFA and save the rest for the trade deadline? Save all 10 million for the trade deadline? Try and secure some free agesnt that might contribute to the team? If we do this who is left out there? What about cammalerri from LA? Hall? Ray Emery? What do you guys think? Are we doomed if we dont sign some people? Are we set with what we have? Whats going on?

Kozzy sure can put up some numbers, sad to see them go to waste in a s***ty organization (as well as kovalchuk) but i just dont think he will take a reasonable deal from us thanks to the ridiculous signings thus far.....i just dont get how teams can afford to give 3 guys a third of the teams cap....
