I would love Shanny, but what are the chances he comes back? What about Kozzie? Cammalleri? It sounds as though Holland is some how content with our team as of right now, and i dont get that. we have lost alot of players and yet somehow he thinks we are ok? I trust the man,but im a little shooken up as of now.

Alright im not sure how people are going to feel about this.....but here it goes. The ducks seem to be picking up all of our garbage and sloppy seconds. First Matty now Bert. Now im going to miss bertuzzi i dont really care what anyone else says, i think he would have been perfect here and i think he will have a big season next year. But thats not the point of this topic. The thing is i just heard that Selanne is a free agent....the man that beat us in the playoffs and put up what 94 points last season? The ducks seem so caught up in stealing all of the former wings, but i havent heard much of him in the free agent market. I'd love to take this guy off of the ducks hands. Alright i see three objections coming 1) injury prone If you ask me, yes he has had some injuries, but coming off a 94 point season, looking as good as he did, i just cant see that as being a big issue when we took a chance on Bert. 2) not the size we are looking for Alright....but who is left in the market that is the size we are looking for? Souray? Yashin? I think the scoring touch makes up for lack of size. 3) age I dont think we have to talk about this much. Most of our best players have been older guys. Lidstrom, chelli, YZERMAN. Hes still got some gas left in the tank. I dunno what do you guys think?

Loyalty? What the hell is that? Are you making words up now? Loyalty went out the window when guys like Yzerman retire, now its all about the money. Markov aint worth the money at all. he wants to reject it let him. I WANT SHANNY BACK........ and Yzerman needs to come out of retirement.

There is one thing that is possitive for them after everyone jumped ship.....they are going to have lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of money to spend on some good players......unfortuantely......alot of the GOOD players are gone, and i havent even heard nashvilles name in any rumors whatsoever. Im not sure as to what they are waiting for.......they have to make the leagues minimum payroll atleast, so they are going to have to sign some players....but are they just giving up right now and hoping for relocation next season? Im just not sure what their strategy is, or if they even have one?

I've heard so many things, but right now i want to get it straight. How much money do we have left before we hit the cap? I heard that before we signed rafalski we have 10 million to use before we hit the cap. If that is true we now only have 4 million left to somehow retain hasek bert and markov? That doesnt seem right to me. Does anyone know officially what our cap is at, how much we have spent on players so far and how much we have left? Also i was also under the impression that teams could go over their cap, but in return they would have to pay a fine? Is this true and if so what is the fine and how likely is it that any team will go over their cap?

Alright, i knew that it was going to be a semi inactive free agency for the detroit red wings....and with how well we played last year i cant blame kenny for not wanting to change much, but we have only had one move and that was only because we HAD to make that move. I mean all we have done is signed Rafalski, which is a good signing.....but what about haske? What about bert? What about Markov? We need to get these guys signed and i thought for sure they would be signed by today....im just kind of dissapointed that nothing has transpired yet with these guys. Even if we do resign all three of these guys (bert, markov, and kasek) in my opinion i think we still need either a BIG physical presence or a scoring forward. What happened to all this Ryan Smyth talk? I would love to have Bert Homer and Smyth all on one team. Goalies all around the league would join the offical "I hate the red wings because i catn seen the puck for the entire 60 minutes" club. What about Kozlov? Good scoring forward. Not really the size we are looking for but for the salary we can afford we cant really be choosy. I dunno, maybe im just complaining because im an idiot, but i just wish there was some more signings for detroit today. Im not disspointed that we didnt jump into the free agent market and sign all the top free agents. Im just a lil dissapointed that Bert and Hasek arent signed, but i guess its a matter of time hopefully. On another note....i almost wish i was a Flyers fan for two reasons.... 1)They are going to be a cup contending team 2)rediculous amount of signings/tradings. Its almost as if they have a COMPLETELY different team this year....and that team is looking pretty soild in my book....

He wants to go to a cup contending team. Buffalo has gotten close the past two nears, but not close enough, and with the release of briere and drury, i dont know how cup contending they will be.....but who knows

the wings have about 8 million like Holland stated but they gotta use that to sign bert and hasek which could leave us with less that 4 million to sing someone else. I dont think smyth is willing to take that kind of pay cut.....so say hello to colorado, which is fine so i can keep hating him haha. (i would love him if he were in a wings uniform....its crazy what that adds to the appeal of a player)

Exactly! Thats all i was really looking for, i just thought for sure they would be locked up by today. I jsut read that Hasek wants to wait a day or two before signing anything but a deal has more than likely been made. Im just hoping these Bertuzzi to Boston rumors i have been hearing are false and we get him soon as well. I wasnt trying to relate the flyers offseason with red wings. I was just stating that the flyers have made some good pick ups and are looking good. Im not saying that we need to make any changes, I Just wish that Bert and Hasek werre inked by now.

Delusional about what? All i said was that they are looking good this offseason. I in noway applied that we needed to make all the moves they did. If you would have read the first thing i posted you would have notived where i posted the fact that the wings didnt have to make many changes....but thanks for the opinion about the delusions, ill have to get back on the medication...

I didnt say i wanted a whole new team, i was just kinda dissapointed that we dont have bert and hasek locked up yet. I was hoping to have them signed before today, but i figured we would have them signed by the end of today at the latest. I was also just commenting on how Philly is looking strong and how it must be exciting seeing your team imporve that much during free agency season. I know its not just a one day thing, but i just wish we had these two locked up so we could focus on a free agent rather than retaining our own free agnest. It also worries em that haske is holding out so long. Im sure he will be back, i just hope its not an outragious offer even if he does deserve it ! Haha. ive played hockey since i was 4, been skating since i was 3. i played up until high school which did not have a hockey team, so i played high school baseball instead. Have not played competitively in about 5 years, but am now looking for beer leagues with my buddy. Just cant stay away any longer. Its an addiction any hockey player will tell you about it. I dont think there is much debate that sammy is the new lang. Not as lazy, but the fact that he plays with what seems like very little brains makes him a pretty good choice in my book. Some may say Kronwall because he hasnt played the best for us, i think if he steps up his game with less turnovers, a more powerful shot from the point and stay healthy, he will have the support of our fans. The fact that sammy will cough the puck up 10 times a game, take stupid shots on net just to take them for no reason and hit the symbol on the goalies chest when he could have passed to hudler for a wide open one timer will make him the new "blame this guy" player for the wings.

It looks as though Raycroft may be trade bait since toronto got vesa.....i know that we have hasek, and alot of talent in the minors....and i know raycroft hasnt been the best goaltender in the league, but hes been on some pretty bad teams, and i kinda like this kid. For some reason he interests me. anyone think the wings are interested or sitting pretty with hasek and ozzie with howard and liv in the future?

Id rather have a guy that is going to stick up for our team and takes some penalty minutes than have a guy that gets lots of PP time and gives the puck up and wastes our PP...smae kind og think to me....

Ill never understand why he got PP time. Sometimes it made babcock look like a genius but most times it made him look like a fool.....and dont even get me started on him playing the point......just makes me sick, i know our defense was hurting but sammy on the point is as bout as useful as a one legged man in an ass whooping contest....YUCK

In a new york minute! i loved lapointe when he was here, and yeah he has cooled down since he left, but hes in chicago what do you expect. He is a little over paid but other than that he is physical for an older guy and i like that! Sammy is ok but hes so streaky it makes m want to rip out my hair. One week he is on the money, the next 3 weeks he is shooting the puck every chance he gets and hitting nothing but the symbol on the goalies chest, it drives me crazy. not much of a talented passer, and gives the puck up alot, but i guess you could say that about alot of players. I like lapointe and would do it in a minute. With that said......it will never happen!
