He played for Rockford IceHogs that year. I remember going to a Generals game where he got in a fight and knee'd someone in the back when they were on the ice.
-
Anyone find how much he signed for? If it's under a mil, i'm gonna hate Williams that much more this season.
-
lol, I'll second that
-
What are you talking about? Before Hossa was here, Pav and Filp used to be PK partners because they did great together.
-
...as a goalie consultant. Theo said this back in February. He also said back then that the only team he'd want to play for in the NHL is Calgary, but that's probably changed since then. I hope he gets back in the league, don't know with who but problems aside I always liked him (except when he was on the Avs).

Sammy 28 goals in Vancouver : Under Huds 56 points in the KHL : Over Datsyuk 100 pts : Over Wings 47 wins :Over Ozzie 50 starts : Over (hopefully not but still) Wings under 2.5 goals against per game : Over :/ Mule 40 goals : Over Ovie 60 goals : Over Wings 10 fighting majors : Over Crosby 120 pts : Under Tavares 20 goals: Over

You sure? Holland "dealt" with it a couple years ago, who says he's not working on something again or will change his mind about Williams near the deadline?
-
That's what I want.
-
There's your problem. There's a BIG reason why Holland didn't sign a bonafied 20+ goal scorer, and that's because he's looking for the young'ns to step up, namely Filp and LEINO. If Leino is playing 3rd line all the time, he's not gonna be able to chip in as much as he would on a top 6 spot. This team is looking for it's youth now, and players like Holmstrom will have to accept their role. I bet 10 years ago you never ever woulda guessed that Stevie Y would be on the 4th line, but guess what...that's where he wound up. His knees were shot, but he still had a role and it worked out just fine.
-
Leino will be on the 2nd line this season, he almost put up a point per game this year in the AHL and NHL, and homer probably will be moved down in favor of Cleary considering he's getting older, slowing down, and getting injured more consistently. On the power play i'd guess ZDH will be re-united though.

This is like your 8th thread about lines, howsabout make 1 LINE thread and stick with it?
-
One problem: What player worth 8.5 mil is gonna be a free agent near the deadline? The only one I would say has a shot at that is Sundin, and if he waits that long to sign again would we really want him?
-
Google translated it to say something like last season ended in fights, including jared boll of columbus.
-
I'd be more concerned with his size, looks like a twig. Also, around 1:45 the clip of him when he was little, that was on ice, so who knows maybe he can translate over. *Edit* And he's already started playing ice hockey, he played 16 games for the Ontario Reign last season, put up 6 pts.

That was Kesler and Mitchell, talking to Backes.

You're still not getting this. In my definition of the words, Boogaard would be an Enforcer, not a goon. Just because someone fights doesn't make them a goon, it's what else they do that makes them a goon. - If someone constantly cheapshots other players, they're a goon - If they antagonize fights for little to no reason, they're a goon - If they play a physical game without taking many penalties, they're an enforcer - If they pick their spots and fight when either defending their team or trying to cause a momentum swing, they're an enforcer And I never agreed with the team bringing in Ulf, he's classless and i'm glad Domi gave him what was coming to him. BTW, he played a whopping 4 games in the Winged Wheel.
-
I'd rather have a guy on my team that had one lapse of judgement one time and is truly sorry for it rather than having a guy like Simon or Pronger or Ott (or even Tootoo) running around cheapshotting everything in sight and committing multiple offenses. That's my point. Yes, I think Bertuzzi is a bit of a goon because of the whole incident, but he is still better than a lot of other players.
-
You guys are getting my comment all wrong. I'm fine with the Wings getting an Enforcer, but a Goon is different than an Enforcer. I think that there isn't room on classy organizations such as the Wings for a Goon, but there is for an Enforcer.

Sportsnet: Hudler awarded 2 year deal 5m total; Still KHL bound

I've only seen one Hudler jersey....and Hudler was wearing it. -
For those of you who have NHL Network (or not, I don't usually have it but I get it right now) and are dying to see some hockey, they're showing the Wings vs Preds game 3 from last year. I know they lose, but still if you're desperate for some hockey, it's on!
-
Finally as in I haven't had NHL Network till tonight, that's why I said it in my post. They're showing game 4 vs Columbus right now too.

...and Kronwall just leveled Bonk!
