Finally something to do! It's the worst part of the off-season right now, i'm getting desperate for some hockey! Seriously, last week I was happy just to see Datsyuk on the Dr. Ramani commercial (I didn't even realize how much I was paying attention to it till my friend pointed it out)...and D3 was on and I watched the whole thing.

I saw this kid last preseason, for me he was one of the 3 that really stood out (the other 2 being Leino and Ericsson). And yeah, he had great speed.

The Wings signed Quincey to a two-year deal last off-season, it's pretty much the exact same situation as Oulahen.

Actually it is this year, it's on the Olympics' website. Also there was something that came out within the last year that said any international ice hockey tournament in North America will be played on NHL sized ice (I think I remember something about that second thing, but I know for sure the first part is true).

Alright, so I thought we could take a break from all the roster changing/doomsday threads and think about something positive this next season. It's been a few years since some wings have been in the YoungStars game (and no, I don't include osgood getting bombed 2 years ago as being in it), and since we have the rooks comin up, which of em do you think will make the team?

Honestly I think a big reason why we had a rivalry with the Ducks in the first place is because of Pronger, since we always have a "rivalry" with whatever team he's on. Now that he's gone it still might be there with Anaheim a bit, but probably not as much unless we end up playing them again this post season.

McCarty is a free agent. and Parros usually re-grows it every year, along with his hair which he gets cut around christmas (I think around there), and donates it to Locks of Love. One of the reasons I respect the guy...plus that awesome stache combined with his fighting stance makes it look like he should be in an old west saloon somewhere.

Don't forget about Varlamov, he did damn good this post season and should at least make the top 3. (hell, jonathan quick made the top 3 for the US and he didn't even make the post season). **edit** - Is that list the Official one??

I'd say he would be a good pickup if: - We knew for a fact that Jimmy boy ain't gonna get it done as backup, I still think he hasn't shown enough for a solid judgement either way. - If Nittymaki hasn't been battling injuries for the last two years, he's damn good but very questionable that he's healed and can stay healthy

My exact thoughts on the subject, the problem is they didn't re-sign Nittymaki (who signed yesterday in Tampa) and Biron is gone. So they're left with a tandem of Emery and Boucher (Nabokov's backup last year). If Emery has anything close to a meltdown, they're screwed.

That might only happen if they play Detroit twice this year, because this last season they played us here, so it's probably our turn to go to philly.

Anaheim had a great goalie though, I seriously doubt Emery's gonna be that good.
