Legace still played the full first period.

Nothing wrong with Hossa, he usually starts out slow. He didn't start really heating up last season till about two weeks before the all-star game, when I said "he doesn't deserve to be in the all-star game" then got a hat trick against the Wings

- Lebda's fought before - We don't get nothing in return for LA picking up Quincey, we get some much needed cap space relief.
-
Damn Flames lost in overtime
-
He was there last night, but only announced about half the things he usually does, not sure why. Maybe someone else knows? (they were talking about this on the radio after the game too)
-
Yeah, but the Phantoms had Niittymaki in net for em.
-
If we get a new arena and need a corporate name...they should get Red Wing Shoes. Red Wing Arena = looooophoooooole.
-
Did they even pay attention to Lilja last night? He assisted on Toronto's 2nd & 3rd goals!!! I thought Meech played better than him by far, and I only remember him really messing up once.

I'm pumped about the first televised Wings game this season! Kinda hoping there's a fight due to what happened last game (long shot, but ya never know)

Calgary defeats Vancouver on Saturday.

Yeah sorry about that. To my defense though, it wasn't on the first page when I posted this (I did look)

So despite being 80-some degrees and muggy as all get-out today, I wore my pav jersey all day today (except in church ), did anyone else do anything special today?
-
Happy birthday Pav!

Also on thefourthperiod if anyone cares

Don't forget that he was the top scorer in training camp AND preseason, and was projected to break-out this past season (which he did after he healed).
-
lol, exactly what I was thinking when I read this
-
Seen it, but it makes me laugh every time
-
Aww sweet, thanks I'll watch it when I get home (in school now)

I believe those people just answered your questions. And yeah, actually, it is degrading to say there were a lot less people than what was said to be there. That's the exact same thing as saying the Wings don't have that many committed fans to go down their and support them. Are you really saying that? f***in' A, you might as well be one of the people saying that Detroit isn't Hockeytown if you're gonna say that.

What makes everyone here pros at estimating people on streets for parades? Whoever officially estimated has done it for YEARS and not just for victory parades, but the thanksgiving day parades as well. There is without a doubt enough space for over a million people, and don't say the whole population thing, because Detroit + it's metro area + Toledo + Windsor + Sarnia = something like 6.2 million people. Quit trying to degrade this great great celebration of victory and go back to bitching about Lilja, Samuelsson, or even Lang if you want to.
