I couldn't agree more. I'm all for safety but you would think they could come up with a safer car that didn't suck so bad at actually racing. All the drivers hate the new car to. I really think that Nascar is alienating its hardcore fanbase and this will come back to bite them sooner or later.

So pointing out flaws with your team means you are not a die hard fan? I don't think the pessimism is the problem, its the homerism.

It wouldn't be so bad if the races were close. However, every race is being won by like 6 or more seconds. That's just boring. That new car really sucks at 1.5 mile tracks.

The fight will never happen. Tootoo won't fight. He will cross check you in the face after the whistle then run away and hide behind the linesman. It happens all the time. The only way to get him to stop is to do away with the instigator penalty.

Really? You're telling me this team stacks up with the 02 team? Or even the 97 team? Just because some one is fed up with what the team is doing does not make them any less of a fan. If that were true, there would not be any Lions fans in existence.

I would do everyone one of them in a heartbeat except the Kronwall one only because I don't know much about Brett Burns. The rest are no brainers.

Brian Rafalski turns the puck over just as much if not more than Lilja. Watch him on the powerplay. Lilja has been playing better the last half of last season and this season. Is he as good as Nicklas Lidstrom? No. Is he as good as Chris Pronger? No Is he going to win the Norris? No way. But he is holding his own and like it or not he is the only physical presence we have on the back end.

I agree. Jr.'s car is very ugly. In my opinion, the 25 National Guard car was the best looking car on the track last year. They took it and made it into one of the ugliest cars.

Do any of you guys go to any races? I have been to 7 in the last two seasons. They are so much fun. We have gotten so many autographs and spent a fortune on die cast cars. Even some of the bigger names will give out autographs if you get to the track early enough.

I didn't say he didn't want to win a championship, he obviously wants to if he is out there every week racing. I just don't think he is good enough to win one.

Jr. is the most overrated driver in the world. I think that he will win a few races now with Hendrick cars but I don't know that he has enough talent to win a championship. I think that both Casey Mears and Reed Sorenson will have breakout seasons this year. Besides Gordon, these are the two I will be rooting for.

I have to agree too. In fact, I would almost say that the hockey now is worse than it was just before the lockout. It's the phantom penalties. When you spend at least half of the game on special teams, it ceases to be hockey as I know it.

I do agree that we need a little more "sandpaper" as he said on the back end. I can just see Lebda, or even worse, Meech getting manhandled in the playoffs in front of the net.

Why would you get pissed off? It's true, most people in the US don't care about hockey. That's why none of the sports shows talk about it. They want people to watch the show and MLB, NFL, and NBA and college sports are far more popular and will get more people to watch than the NHL. The NHL is being driven into the ground and this kind of stuff will just continue to happen until Bettman has successfully turned it into ice dancing with sticks.

That play is exactly why the instigator rule needs to go. Weller would have beat the snot out of Tootoo but couldn't because of the stupid instigator rule.

Your right. Nobody wants to split up the Hank, Datyuk, Homer line but we may need to just so that there is another scoring line. Secondary scoring on this team is non existent. But remember, according to everyone on this forum, we were gonna be ok because Grigorenko, Hudler, and Filppula were each going to score 40 goals this year. I agree with you about the ducks. They are the team that I wish the Red Wings were. I was very happy and surprised though the one time that they ran Hasek and Lidstrom, Cleary, and Zetterberg jumped the guy that did. However, we were getting tossed around the rink like we were high school hockey players all night long.

It's way to early to look at standings at all. And no matter what, we still have a weak division. This fact is not gonna change and we are not gonna hear the end of the weak division talk. And all the other people who talked about the weak division in past years were absolutely right.

I guess it wasn't clear what I was trying to say. Downey isn't going to singlehandedly win the cup for the Wings. But, a fighter, or enforcer or whatever, will help the other people on the team. As someone else pointed out, do you want Datsyuk and Zetterberg sticking up for themselves? Cuz they will get their you know whats handed to them and get injured. Even Gretzky and Hull have both come out and said that they would not have been the same player if they did not have their body guards riding shotgun with them.
