Yeah my best friend is a Sabres Fan...If they DO sign him (which I doubt very much), I'll tell my friend that Lang is very hard-working and most certainly does NOT suck... He'll be in for a surprise come September... Heheheh... -
There's always hope for a last-minute decision...Sorta...Not Really... ...
-
You had us all worked up over nothing!
-
You make some good arguments, but what if Columbus DID buy his contract out, and he wanted to come back to Detroit, to retire a Red Wing? He could have a comeback season, just as Hasek did and Bert will, hopefully. If he signed for, say 1M, because he just wanted to prove that he wasn't finished yet, wouldn't you take him?
-
I hope so. I think Bert's a great player, and could have a comeback season, just like Hasek had this year.
-
Smart words. I just have one thing to say: GET 'ER DONE, KENNY! I had to do that!
-
I hope to wake up tomorrow to see that everyone is signed and ready for next year!
-
I really don't like the sounds of that. Bert is, as you said, going to be gone in the first few minutes tomorrow, should he be on the market.
-
I agree. As long as we can keep the core together, we'll be contenders. Look at how far we made it this year, with two of our top-four DMen out!
-
If we can resign Schneider, thanks to the increase in the Cap, perhaps Fedorov could fill-in for Markov. That way, we would get a cheap replacement, who play "D" for a season or two until Kindl and/or Meetch come in, and we would still have room for another Forward.

READ MY NHL DYNASTY! There, I said it
-
Yeah no problem. All I think that you need to do is put down your Email, and we can get the information (website, etc.).
-
I don't know if we'll be able to afford all of them, PLUS Schneider, Bert, etc. Hopefully one of them, though.

The FA frenzy is tomorrow, so I guess everyone is expecting Kenny to make some signings tonight. -
Should Sergei Fedorov's number be retired in the future?

I've gotta say yes. He helped us win three Cups, and put up some amazing numbers. Just because these last few seasons have been so-so, doesn't mean everyone should forget what he did in Motown. -
Especially with the fact that he really wants to play for Detroit, and so would probably be wanting to prove to everyone that he should stay.

That's probably because he won't sign anywhere besides Detroit, so he's not a traditional UFA that could potentially go anywhere. -
Y'know, we could always trade him to some desperate Team, that needs some decent Offence, for picks or depth if he can't return to his past status.

Report: Manny Fernandez traded to Boston
Go_Wings_Go_13Dats replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
I think the Bruins DID in fact make a smart move, because they have a more reliable Goaltender than Thomas, IMO. Also, don't forget that just because the Bruins have a lot of Goaltending, doesn't mean that they can't trade some away for depth or picks. -
The problem is, what if he can't return to the Power Forward he was a few years ago. The back isn't an issue, according to doctors, but his confidence, or, "magic touch" could be gone. However, I guess that's just the risk we'll have to take. How would we feel if Kenny did let him go, and then he reached 70-80 points next season?
-
I agree. Kenny will probably wait a few hours, and then choose from the, "remains" or "leftovers", as Kenny calls 'em.

No problem, sarcasm is tough to convey over the Internet -
Like Kenny said, Bert can have a 1YR. deal, with incentives, or a longer-term contract (say, 2-3 YR.), but the salary will go down.
-
That's Kenny's style, and it has worked in the past. Let's hope it works tomorrow!
