I've got to think we could trade him for someone, but it'd be hard. Also, what's the point in trading for someone when there's no room for him on the team? Maybe 3rd round draft pick? A 2nd if we can find a team desperate enough? Is that even reasonable?
-
Agreed. This game is easily the most frustrating game this season. They just laid down and rolled over.
-
Honestly, why would the holidays affect them? Aren't most of them away from their families or non-American and thus Thanksgiving can't be that big of a deal? I doubt they're all excited to eat turkey.

You're drunk.

I think the defense needs a serious slap in the face. But it's not just them. Why is it every time we pass the puck it goes straight to an Atlanta player, and every time a Wing has the puck he ends up having it bounce over his stick? Just a game full of bad breaks, made worse by bad defense and no offense.

It could be Modano or Hudler, they're the only two who aren't producing on virtually any level.

Ovechkin, Kovalchuk heard laughing after Caps' blowout loss

"Joking around" is a little different than laughing at someone who said something unexpectedly funny. Maybe the media shouldn't invade the athlete's space and should hold a conference elsewhere? -
If it were based on performance thus far I'd say Rafalski should make it, but we know he won't. It'll be Datsyuk and Lidstrom.

Looks interesting, if i had HBO I'd check it out, even if it will be a Crosby slobber fest.

I think I'd have to lump that game in with "nothing good on TV." I guess Edmonton is a little less boring with their young kids but really....meh.

Fail to see the news here. Maybe it's an annoyance to Bodreau, but other than that, how is this a big deal? Two old friends laughing? It's a regular season game, not a playoff game. You shrug off the loss. Would people prefer to have Ovechkin crying and doing Rocky-style workouts to 80s music 24/7? -
A lot of players are? The fact is Toews and Kane have been lackluster this season. The All-Star is and always will be a simple popularity contest. I wish they would take this away from the fans and give the vote directly to experts, to be honest with you.

This bugs me as well. They should really let the upper bowl move down, it's better for fans and it makes the team look better. But everyone who goes to a game says it's loud, I wonder if the settings for FSD are just lower when broadcasting from the Joe so the crowd doesn't seem so loud? I've noticed other teams games even the announcer is considerably louder.

I'd say most teams I have no feelings whatsoever about, except for these teams: Tampa Bay. Like many others, I don't know why, but I've always kind of liked them. Now that Yzerman is running the show I like to check up on how they're doing from time to time. Anaheim - Games are always exciting. Team is always douchey. Colorado - Hate the name, but the teams are so different now and the games usually lacking in intensity, I don't have many feelings toward them. But for the rivalry's sake I list them. Pittsburgh - I hate them. With a passion. Chicago - Like others, I hate the fans more than the team. I honor the Original 6 rivalries, but honestly we play them so infrequently I can't hate them.

I agree mindfly is all doom and gloom all the time, but Howard hasn't been on top of his game. He may need a game off just to prevent bad habits from continuing. Is Ozzie still injured?
-
I hate it when people say this. It's been well established that the refs the past few seasons have had TERRIBLE calls against the Wings, and the San Jose series was the worst officiating we've ever witnessed. It wasn't just us making excuses, non-Wings fans agreed. But for last night's example, when you play a physical style game and you're losing your grip on the game, you're going to take penalties. When you play a clean game like the Wings, you won't.

And he's become really defensively reliable. I'm loving Bertuzzi on this team.

Campbell calls (likely Savard) "Fake Artist" in email

Unreal, the way American and Canadian culture lets ass-clowns keep powerful jobs is mind-numbing. -
I still have to ask this: What exactly has Modano done? Both he and Hudler had great games a while back that we thought would jump start them...and nothing. I'm okay with both of them left in the lineup at this point, but if we're talking about someone sitting, why shouldn't Modano be considered, too? At this point every single play has made themselves invaluable except for the following: Hudler Modano Holmstrom (I hate to say this because we all know how truly valuable he is, he just hasn't been as effective for whatever reason) Homer shouldn't sit because we all know he works hard and is a necessary part of the team. That only leaves Modano and Hudler. Everyone else (even Miller) is contributing.

I knew that, for some reason I got hung up on the "8" when I was typing, haha.
-
Call it a gut feeling, but I don't want Hudler gone. Clearly he stalled out developmentally over in the KHL. It's not simply a readjustment process, but he has to catch up, not just transition to a different style. It does make sense to trade him, but something tells me he's going to be working all season and off-season to work on the other elements of his game, and I'd like to wait and see in the off-season if he can get it together. We all know Hudler can be a beast if he gets it going. I'd hate to trade him and have him end up bulking up or training with Datsyuk or someone in the art of keeping the opponent away from the puck and becoming a good 2nd line sniper.
-
I agree. He really wants to win this year. I think he did last year, too, but he was still getting over nagging injuries and finding his groove. Now he's healthy for the first time in a long time and he's an established part of this team. I hope he stays as long as he can.
-
Wow they really made Ovechkin look good there. No way that flies on a team that actually works hard. Both of those guys could have stopped that even after Ovechkin blew past them.
-
Maybe his son requested it?

I don't understand consistently bumping the Wings for the Pistons, either. Don't they get lower ratings, as well as lower attendance?
