Let's hope the Wings actually show up tonight. No more of this 9-1 amateur garbage, I expect 23-0.
-
All the Wings really need is a good winning streak and they should be alright, especially if a few of the teams above go on losing streaks or struggle. I have faith they will climb the standings, but they need to start winning now. Hopefully the Columbus game is a harbinger of things to come.

Bert, currently is "on pace" for 15 goals, but considering how close he's been getting (posts, just wide, blocked, etc.) he's bound to get more than that. Also on pace for 41 points. I don't usually put stock in "on pace" but he seems pretty consistent this season, trying to hammer away those goals.
-
Wow, that place cleared out FAST. Dead silence.
-
Bizarre pattern of 3rd goals being scored. One more guys, one more!
-
All this talk about scoring double digits is going to jinx the Wings. Now there's no way they score another one.
-
This is the best Leino has looked....ever since coming to North America, I think. The Cleary-Zetterberg line really is boosting his confidence!
-
What were they fighting for? Fights are cool and everything, but I'm not really a fan of surgical, planned, friendly fights. I like to see the passionate brawls.
-
What do you know, Howard had the puck stopped against his body and he still gives up a rebound. Howard needs to leave.
-
Always good to see Datsyuk score! He hasn't been doing that as much as usual this season, it seems like. Awesome start!
-
Wow, Leino makes his mark early, doesn't he? Great goal for Cleary!
-
HAHA.
-
As much as I love the Wings, that franchise has the absolute worst marketing team in hockey.
-
Giguere as a backup? Sure. As a #1? No. At his price tag? Hell no! Have fun finding some crappy, desperate team.
-
Eaves was out because he was injured, but it's only a minor injury and I think he was just resting his ankle. Hopefully Leino will do well if he's bumped up but he's been so ineffective I'm not sure he has heart enough to make things happen out there. This really sucks...the season is getting along now and the team seems to be stuck where we are. We certainly can't get any substantial streaks going due to constant injuries and half-assed play, which means we're not going to make much ground against higher seeds unless they have massive losing streaks. We may actually see this team struggling for a 7th or 8th seed...bizarre.

I feel bad for anyone who has to play in Montreal. That whole area is beyond psychotic.
-
On the one hand, I'm happy for Legace, everyone deserves a second shot. On the other hand, given his depression issues, and knowing that he's terrible now, goign to a terrible team, it's going to be a rough ride for his psyche.
-
Yeah, when you post stats that show someone blatantly sucks, you can't really say that's tongue in cheek. Is he implying that Price is good, and his awful stats show that? Then it would be tongue in cheek. But then it wouldn't make sense, either.

I laughed so hard I had tears. I don't know why, but that hit just the right nerve. Hysterical.
-
We've tried and banked on the whole "Call up AHLers" bit and it hasn't worked as well as we would hope. Wings won't trade unless they can get a big name impact player in return, since we've already got enough veteran role players.
-
Won't let me vote, but clearly it's got to be Lidstrom. That's the trend, things getting progressively worse with injuries, so I fully expect him to get injured after the Wings get on a winning streak and finally get some momentum.
-
Go to NHL.com. Serously. Sid makes a save, which let's face it is always cool, but not unheard of. Zetterberg and Lidstrom are known for doing this from time to time. Usually it merits a highlight reel playback or something. What does NHL.com do? Not only is the headline story about it, but they have five freaking extra stories about his goaltending roots, learning from Fleury, two videos of Sid discussing the play and the video of the save itself. What the hell? It's cool, yes, but do we need to have stories digging into his psyche to tell us how he's always been able to play every position at the highest level? Sorry, bitchfest over.

If I were Lebda I wouldn't fly back to Detroit.
-
WHY IS LEBDA OUT THERE AGAIN?!
-
Serious question guys, how do you deal with a fail as massive as Lebda? You know, if you were an adult, professional coach, how do you deal with it aside from trading? Does Babcock simply get fed up and tell him he sucks? Does he play mind games to try and get him play better? What would you do with such a damn frustrating player?
