It's certainly better than "Fire on Ice" and "The Beard is Back" or whatever garbage was last year. They still haven't topped Red Alert, though. But green signs? Why not a red sign that says no limit?

Glad for Chelios, the guy was my favorite since he came to Detroit and I'm glad to see him proving his critics wrong.

I thought the Wings played well and are officially back on track. Ozzie actually had to make saves and he did come up huge. Our big guns were firing (and scoring) and everyone played well defensively. I have a good feeling about this season again, though I'm pretty depressed about how Leino is developing. This season is going to be a crazy one. So far, Leino, the most heralded of the new guys, is a total disappointment, and Eaves, the guy who really didn't look like he'd play at all this season is making a strong case for a permanent spot.

Atdhe.net is working now, guys, I don't think it was earlier (I might have overlooked the game earlier though when I couldn't find it.) The video and audio is awful quality though. But it's better than having it shut down every 5 seconds.
-
Then the stream is down. Damnit.
-
For some reason it shuts down for every commercial and intermission.
-
I missed the last game, but the Wings PK has been pretty good lately, hasn't it?
-
...and the feed is gone. I haven't had so much trouble with streaming hockey games in a looooooong time.
-
No video, just audio? Weird... EDIT: Nevermind, it kicked into fast forward and is now functioning.
-
What the hell, Atdhe has an AHL game, but not the Wings game? I recently lost my cable so this sucks REALLY bad.
-
Not really. Janik has NHL experience. Our defense is completely devastated at the moment, you don't throw a kid like Kindl into that mess. Can you imagine a pairing of Lebda or Meech and Kindl? Yikes! Janik was really the only possibility considering the situation.

I think Babcock is right, Eaves is really getting comfortable here. He was definitely questionable early on but I'm starting to think he's getting himself a secure spot on this team.
-
Cool, it's always fun to see new people.
-
Yeah, there were too many "ifs" in last years finals to say that Pittsburgh dominated.

I absolutely agree. Goalies make me nervous. There are no big-names like a Hasek, Roy or Brodeur in the league. Well...Brodeur is but he's not the same as he's been I don't think. Even though many have better reps than Osgood, I'd be very nervous about acquiring any of them. Who knows what day they decide to mentally collapse? They all seem to be hot one year and disappear the next. How many "goalies of the future" has the league burned through? Take Fleury, for instance. He's decent, but he's not elite. Yet he gets treated like he is. So many goalies get treated as elites when they're really quite average on good teams. Some would even point to Osgood as this. I would say Luongo is probably the only reliable goalie in the league, and even he is questionable at times. Mason might be the real deal but it's way too early to tell.

The other thing is, it's so early, a simple three game winning stream could put us right up among the top teams in the league, and 3 game winning streaks aren't THAT hard. The Wings just started out in a slump, most likely. We can debate whether this team is a serious contender for the Cup, but it's kind of hard to seriously argue that the Wings will miss the playoffs, the team, even half-assing it, can put together enough wins to make it in.
-
Man, the past two years have just devastated the Wings injury-wise...
-
I think at least one of those two should be "rushed" in development. I think Howard was in the system too long. I admire the Wings' patience, but I think Larsson should be given a shot before he gets too old to learn new tricks, so to speak. Like someone mentioned, Larsson wouldn't be worse than Howard and Ozzie right now, but he might be better, and it's worth a look. Having him play a few games won't hurt his development any.
-
I believe the Rangers were "unbeatable" a few years ago and everyone jumped on their bandwagon. Then they missed the playoffs. Not saying Pittsburgh will miss the playoffs, but the regular season is much different. No denying they're doing better than the Wings, though, albeit against weaker opponents, too.
-
Sounds like the system. He wants not to think about things and "feel" for the game. He should be allowed to do so to a degree, but he can't neglect "thinking" to play defensively.
-
I'm not a lawyer, but I think the CBA would remain until it expires, I don't think contracts expire just because one of the parties does. But it certainly means the League could drop the idea of a cap if it wanted to later on.
-
Contracts are legally binding, so the players would conitnue to play. I don't know the legal limbo about suspension/dead, but if it were officially dead they would just play out their contracts and not be represented by the union anymore, signing new contracts under different rules. But this seems to be a simple temporary cessation until they can review operations, so it won't affect much, I don't think, other than maybe caution among GMs when signing new contracts during the season who don't know what will happen.
-
Of course I'd still watch as many games as possible. I love hockey, I love the Wings. Win or lose I'm a loyal fan.
-
If Babcock is at fault for anytihng, it's for not pushing for the removal of what's his face, the defensive coach. Can't see the game because ADthe sucks, but it sounds like our defense is working themselves out of a job this season.
-
Adthe.net is really dropping the ball lately. Functioning feed anyone?
