Rumor: Red Wings Aquire Mathieu Dandenault from Montreal Canadiens for
VM1138 replied to Herr Hockey's topic in General
No doubt Dandy is also a Russian spy dealing drugs to school children in Montreal while having sex with an underage cheerleader. While drunk and funneling money to Al Qaeda. -
Clearly it's not a coaching problem because coaching is what built the awesome defense we've had for years.
-
Most of the shots did seem to be from Sammy (so you can guess where those shots ended up). Everyone else was absolutely invisible, except for Lilja, Meech who were ******* brutal. The offense was terrible. Only shooting soft from really bad angles and outside. They were at fault, too. No good chances except for the one that their goalie caught INSIDE the net. I actually would say that Conklin and Ozzie did the best they could with what they had to work with.

IT's risky to pick up a goalie with injury problems and no good stats (bad team or no). You can't judge a goalie who plays on a bad team. All we know is he's not truly elite or else he'd be putting up good numbers despite (I.e. Luongo). So at best we get a mediocre goalie for a bunch of talent? No thanks.

You're right. This was one game that will definately have Holland's eyes open about acquiring a defenseman. If there was any doubt in his mind about making a movie, it's gone now no doubt. But in the end it was one game. Even though the defensive lapses have been there all year, they've never been this bad so obviously it's an outlier. I don't think it says anything about what'll happen for the rest of the year. It's just damn embarrassing.

Last night wasn't Conklin's or Ozzie's fault. At all. The defense was so unbelievably bad that they had no chance. You might get lucky and stop unending breakaways for a while, but I don't blame them for giving up goals. They probably expected someone to show up and help them out last night. I mean, that was bad. Not a typical bad performance, I mean last night was freaking legendary.

Plus, Sammy must have had half the shots straight into the pads.
-
Some of you are right. A game like this happens every year. It's not so much a harbringer of things to come as a simple fluke. We do have serious defensive issues that need to be resolved. We march on and destroy St.Louis.
-
Wow, even Ken had to bash those ******* whistles. "I liked it much better when <Tootoo> was injured. Much quiet up here."
-
So you guys. The Nashville Predators are beating the Stanley Cup winning champions worse than the elite 2002 Red Wings beat the elite 2002 Colorado Avalanche. Wow, my world is spinning.

NOW THEY GIVE US A POWERPLAY?
-
Well....so this is how it feels to be an Avs fan.
-
That's what I'm saying: We can do this guys! One goal is all we need to spark the comeback!
-
Brace yourselves, everyone. Wings are about to score 15 goals in 15 minutes. Mark my words.
-
Hey, at least they showed up. They're being troopers about this whole mess. They still brought their A game.
-
But we came up with a clever play off his name by chanting: "Waaaaaaaaaahhh" that was so fitting with his character. That alone sets us above generic, "____ sucks" chanting.
-
On a much more entertaining note: My cat was just molesting a bag of noodles.
-
That's because Meech and Lilja are on the ice all the freaking time.
-
I hate to say it, guys. The Wings are really making a case for Pronger tonight...
-
Pain Train? More like ***** Train.

Last time the Wings gave up 5 goals in a period was against Philly in 2007. Seems like we haven't played Philly since 98.
-
Exactly. We know it was a goal. Toronto knows it was a goal. But according to the rules, it wasn't a goal. So I won't ***** about it. is it just me, or are the only players that are out there consistently are Helm, Kopecky and Samuellson? I don't even notice anyone else.

Put a picture of their sisters behind the register button and I'm sure they'll start poking at it.
-
I'm glad we're all recovering from that horrible experience. I, too, find it comical now. That was a textbook "How not to play an NHL game" period. I do have faith that the Wings will win this game, though. Can you imagine the look on the Preds faces when that happens?

At least you're watching some people get screwed.
