Agreed, but if we can't win without Datsyuk and Lidstrom when we have Hossa and Zetterberg still in the lineup, someone isn't playing up to their potential.

I see your point, and it's valid. But I think you're leaving out one critical element here: He didn't tell them they could just show up and do meet and greets until AFTER they already planned on not going. He told Crosby alone, and then word spread. AFTER they already had other plans. Do you really think io's fair to make up a new rule and then expect them to drop their families at the last minute?

I'm sure that it's competitive to get that job, but the description seems about average. No real strenuous requirements. I've never been in sales, but I'm sure anyone with any experience could probably do it. The cold calls are just dull and time consuming. The face to face meetings a week might be hard toa rrange though for anyone who's not really experienced.

Crosby showed up because of an exception. There was no rule that all you had to do was show up and meet and greet. It came about AFTER Lidstrom and Datsyuk already made other plans. Crosby is being villified because he had a special rule made for him that makes us look bad, and then he cops an attitude about it.

As far as I'm concerned the upper deck seats (towards the front) are the best seats in the house for actually watching the game. It'd be awesome to get at ice level for a while for the experience, btu as far as watching the game itself, those are the best value. Most affordable, comfortable, and best view for the cost.

I understand that it sucks having that kind of travel, but there's no legitimate way to show that it directly hurts your team. Any "facts" or stats used are simply a tool used to manipulate an opinion, not factual evidence. THere is no way to prove the connection is anything but spurious. Seriously, your team just sucks.

I personally feel that putting a metaphorical gun to a players head to make your fashion show "fun" takes a lot of the magic away. Just have the damn game after the Cup is awarded.

I'm beginning to think Dats and Lids should have gone, and then when they're on the ice, play for the other team just to make a mockery of the game.

Doesn't he specifically mentioned that he's not even going to order them to go meet the media and stand around? It doesn't matter if they're too hrut to do that, it's the principle of the thing now. Holland and Illitch have to back the team and protect them from the NHL. It's always said when a premier franchise has to stand up to the parent league. I love hwo classy our organization is. Even when we're flipping the bird to the league it's never over the top.

We don't need no stinking 10 player rule. We could beat the league with only Lidstrom and Datsyuk on the ice.

If you're trying to pick the best team ever, why wouldn't you pick the best players ever for each position? Having any additional rules to "balance it out" makes the whole "best team ever" line irrelevant.

There is a very interesting line in there. He mentions he doesn't even know where Franze and Datsyuk are. Do teams usually lose track of players halfway through the season? He must have them hiding in a undergroudn hole in Tikrit or something.

Why are we talking about moving our D, which was the best in the world last year? Bringing up AHLers, no matter how great they were last year, will not do anything. We need to keep our Top 4 on D, all else is expendable, but not the top 4.

So what's the problem? Statistically, he is. ALso, if you combine all the mistakes he's made this season, I'd bet that the big plays he's made more than make up for them. Raffy is, whether we like it or not, one of the elite defensemen in the league.

Until now, I hadn't seen anyone recommend Rafalski for a trade. He's been arguably our best defenseman next to Lidstrom.
