I was there when I was younger and from what I recall there is no room on the actual strip. In one of the slum areas there might be the space needed. Bad, bad, bad Bettman.
-
I do, too. Bert got better and better each game for us, and filled a great role with us. Calder was great in the regular season for us. I know that since we didn't re-sign either of them the trades seem like a waste, but let's not negate their contributions.

Zetterberg denies report of rejecting 10yr, $75 million deal.

Honestly, I know this isn't how negotiations work and everything, but I think someone should point out that Datsyuk is having a better year than hei s, and is perfectly content with his 6.7 million. He's not starving or eating at soup kitchens. Since they are comparable, I'd like to see Z signed for that much. It won't happen though. I keep hoping we'll see some 2001 level contract cuts for the good of the team. I don't see Lids demanding anything close to his 7 million when his contract expires and I can dream that Z is only after 6 million, long-term and Franzen only wants 4 million or less. -
Sammy, Flip, Lebda, Kopecky are all expendable. How much does that free up?

Bettman seriously has a complex with trying to force warm weather hockey down the throats of everyone, doesn't he? I wish he'd be removed so we wouldn't have to witness these death rattles of his southern hockey plan. This pisses me off. The NHL finally looks respectable in the eyes of the world (thanks largely to the Wings, Pittsburgh, and Chicago) and now they want to make itself a joke again? How hard did they all work to build the NHL back up again the past few years only to throw it away on some whimsical Gary wet dream?

It's funny how everyone was all in love with Z, and now they want him to walk. I agree, though, that that contract is too much for the team to afford. That is most unfortunate, because Zetterberg has led peopel to believe he wanted to play here for his entire career, and you'd think he could be willing to take a discount. The source seems wrong, why would a player demand more than a player of his caliber is worth when he's not even having a record season? -
I saw the ASG lineup, and from all the talk abuot the Canadiens I thought they were doing amazing, then I go look at the standings and they're 4th or 5th in their Conference? That's worse than they were last year. A step back is an improvement how? They have some talent, and could be a dangerous team, but this particular regular season, I just don't see what's so amazing about them.

All athletes are really boring to interview. In all sports, they all say the same thing. Unless they start joking around it's not like there's anything groundbreaking that'll be covered.

I really have to say, I'm impressed with Lilja this season. He's so much better than he has been in the past. All the Lebda vs. Lilja offseason talk must have sparked something in him.

Ozzie lets in one soft goal and two he can't do anything about and suddenly it's time to bench him? Have some faith, though I'm all for giving Conklin another start. Rotation never hurts, in my view.

Didn't see this elsewhere in the thread: Where is the game being streamed tonight? Last time someone linked to a really good place with good quality, but apparently i didn't bookmark it like I thought I did...
-
Absolutely. I remember the first Saginaw Spirit game I went to had a brawl and resulted in both goalies being thrown out of the game, along with a couple assorted players. That was quite a few years back, maybe their inaugural season?
-
Calder was only a bust because for some reason Babcock hated his guts, he was good for us in the games he played. Did anyone ever find out what exactly was going on with that?
-
Oh, and I forgot to add that they will be adding speeding penalties to players who actually skate with one complete stride. Either walk on the ice or face expulsion from the league.

Doesn't have much to do with hockey, but I like it. It's local, in the vein of other Texas teams, and the stars are for the constellation. Again, not hockey related, but it's a pretty cool logo, I always thought. EDIT: And, to be brutally fair, what does a flying wheel have to do with hockey? On a random side noet, I always thought it was stupid when teams were named after a weather condition, and their logos almost always will fall into the "worst logo ever" category.

I think all hockey leagues should make all players wear full body armor and have to stay at least six feet away from each other at all times, and when shooting the puck, no one, not even the goalie can be in front of you, and you can only shoot it gently in case it ricochets.
-
Never noticed that. I guess that could help narrow down the options when betting after the season ends, eh? I wonder if that'll hold up this year.
-
I have a good feeling about tonight, but then again Anaheim games are usually the most frustrating. I think Detroit-Anaheim games are the only games Anaheim plays where they don't have more penalty minutes, which is bizarre. I usually end up throwing something at the TV during an Anaheim game, but that's what makes these matchups so entertaining.

I knew somebody who worked with the Mudbugs, that's pretty funny.

The only line I saw get dominated physically was Draper's.
-
Considering that starting the season over seas is like a death blow to teams, I'd say that's a good indication he'll try anything to hurt this team, heh. I think he'd be frustrated because despiet all hsi efforts to make the sunbelt the face of the NHL, it's still the tried and true old school teams that keep the league afloat and it makes him look like an ass. So yeah, he's happy it did well from a business standpoint, but personally it's egg on his face.
-
I know this is probably not possible, but putting one player in isn't going to make much of a difference for an entire line. You need to bench Draper and Kopecky both and bring two players up to really transform a line. Kopecky might as well be let go. I don't think there's a team in the league that will take him, just buy him out and give him a kick in the ass.
-
Whoever the hell let him walk right into the net like that needs to do 100 extra laps tomorrow.
-
Where the f*** was Ozzie on that?
-
Or is it brilliant? Maybe Datsyuk isn't done yet and wanted to amaze us once more with a dramatic game winner.
