It's a good thing we have Abdelkader, Meech, Helm, etc. waiting in the wings come playoff time. At least then we can make some adjustments in bringing people up and down.

Maltby has been good lately, and really, most of the season. Kopecky and Draper...not so much. But at least Draper can do faceoffs. Which would make Kopecky the most useless.

3 goals or not, Ozzie has been nothing short of amazing.

We know what Mastadon is. Mastodonic is not in that definition as a form of that word. Even if it was, that doesn't make any sense: "An amorous save in the form of a Mastadon!"

Fights don't score goals. Magnificent saves can do as much to spark a team as a fight could.

Look at the bright side. If he doesn't allow any more goals, it'll help his Save %.

Can someone please explain to me what exactly we are waiting for in Kopecky? He shows up, year after year, on this team, as if we're expecting him to develop: but into what? He'll never be a scorer. He'll never be a physical presence. He'll never be a positive factor on the ice. He's quite possibly the blandest, most neutral player in the league. Time to let him go I think.

I just recently finished reading the excellent book "Gods of Olympia Stadium" and it got me to thinking. I know there are various newsreel clips of older hockey games, but do any games exist in full? Or even in complete segments, without jerky cutting? I'd especially like anything from the 1950s Cup runs (as I seriously doubt any 1940s complete footage exists), but notably a brawl in the playoffs against Toronto in 1950 that started off with swinging sticks. Also, any footage of the regular season matchup between the Canadiens and the Wings where tear gas was used, NHL President Campbell was attacked and the Montreal fans started rioting and overturning cars outside because they were losing 3-1 after the first would be awesome to see. Anyways, I know some of you out there may have access to various archives, and would appreciaet it if anyone knew of the existence of anything like this.

The NHL Community Funds just isn't working. It's keeping several franchises floating that should've left a logn time ago. But alas, that is what happens with socialism. Frankly, it'd be ridiculous to simply move Phoenix unless it was to a northern team. And with th eeconomy the way it is, the same problems are going to exist wherever it moves. I hope they fold. The league needs to contract a bit and stop diluting the talent on teams.
