If I had the money I'd spend 4,000 on a ticket for this. You all knwo that if you had the money, you would, too.
-
Exactly. Don Cherry is a joke. I can't believe he was voted one of the greatest Canadians. I guess that just shows the lack of history and accomplishments of Canadians.
-
A winger with a hard, accurate slap shot would be nice. And of course he needs speed and good puck possession. I don't know who that is, but it wouldn't hurt to have him!
-
I wasn't referring to messing with the ice. I don't give a damn about that. I was referring more to the drastic show of disrespect. I guess I'm just old fashioned and like the idea of respecting your opponents. Taking it out of the ice was alright I guess, but planting the flag was a little....theatrical.

Malkin is set to bankrupt the club and Fleury has supposedly stated that he doesn't want to stay in Pittsburgh. It's going to be a tough few years for Pittsburgh. But let's look at the positive: The Wings are set for like 4 years with stability while remaining under the cap. Thus we can adapt over the years and consistently stay on top. I don't see the Wings going anywhere for the next few years, which gives us plenty of time to find new talent.

Wow...that seems kind of classless of the Russians. Taking the coin out is bad enough, but planting a Russian flag? Ehh...

Crosby will be great in the future, IF he can learn to change his game and mature. And this series isn't over yet. I've been really excited, but how many times have we gotten excited only to have Nashville and Dallas steal a game or two? I really really hope we win tomorrow, more than I've wanted them to win all year. I AM confident we'll win the series but I really want to see it won on home ice, so they really need to win this game tomorrow!
-
No, hardly. Crosby wasn't in the 2002 Finals and those were the highest ratings, even hgiher than this years, I think. The link is the Red Wings, not Crosby.

Pens fans know nothing about hockey, why would I believe they know anything about performance enhancing drugs?
-
Amen. We have a great team. I'm tired of comparison threads.
-
If Zetterberg or Datsyuk played in a 'system' like the Pens, they'd be putting up Crosby like numbers. He's clearly one of the best, but to say he is THE best, beyond argument, year in year out like Gretzky was is just dumb. Put him on a defensive-offensive team like Detroit and he puts up the same numbers as Dats and Zetterberg. I'm not saying any one of them is better than the other, but the point is they are all at equal skill levels, so this Crosby worship is a little foolish.

Why is it Pittsburgh is the only team the entire year to complain about "obstruction" and "the trap"? Maybe it's because they're unfamiliar with the concept of defense? They ***** about not being able to score, but none of this seems to have stopped the Wings from scoring a lot in games this season. Kind of funny if you ask me.

I think that would make it much more powerful of a statement, the classiest fans in the league resorting to these kinds of protestations because we hate Bettman so much.
-
Find a CCM one. RBK sucks.

Lilja only stays if Stuart leaves. Stuart is a much more talented version of Lilja. Then, we can use some of our youth to play alongside Cheli or Lebda.
-
The NHL needs to straighten a lot out, but it's becoming more popular, more viewers, etc. When Bettman leaves and a capable person takes his place, the league will return to glory.
-
I'm cautiously optimistic. For one, the Wings will have all the advantages in the game. Second, Pittsburgh looked heartbroken, like they had just lost the series after last night. I wouldn't put it past Pittsburgh to rally for one more win, but I hope it doesn't happen. Winning in Detroit would be so rewarding and amazing. I'm beside myself, really. I have to keep telling myself "it's not over yet!"
-
I doubt this'll happen, but it would be awesome. I'd be happy to hear tremendous booing, a few Octopi all at once on any part of the ice, and Al twirling it right in front of Bettman ON THE ICE.
-
I've tried to reign in the bias comments and what have you, and I know we've had enough of it lately, but watching the pre-game and everything....it's official, even I'm sick of this. Have they even mentioned the Wings more than once? It's been non-stop Crosby coverage. Seriously, there are TWO teams out there tonight, how about introducing the NBC audience to the amazing Wings season?
-
Is it just me or does it seem like Pittsburgh has kind of given up? They seemed so heartbroken for a simple Game 4 loss at the end of the game. I really hope they stay down. It would be great for Detroit to win at home.

The writer was an Avs beat writer, so it's natural it would have come out that way. Otherwise it's a very fair and entertaining read.

This is the first series where coaching has really become obvious. Babcock is showing why he's the best, and Therrien is showing that you can be an NHL coach and still be utterly incompetent to coach a peewee team. They couldn't be more different. I can't wait til we have last change in Detroit.
-
I believe it. Tensions run high, especially after what happened that night.
-
They're playing fundamental hockey. CLose off the passing lanes, get to the puck first. It's sore losers and people who don't fully undertsand hockey. Not to mention a bunch of prima donnas who think the Cup is owed to them.
-
That 5 on 3 is the REASON why the Wings will win the Cup. Most amazing, heart stopping two minutes of the season. The Wings clearly want this Cup now. Hopefully they can close it out Monday to win on home ice! I'm so excited. We're so close! And as to Hudlers goal: If it IS questionable, then it just balances out them taking a perfectly legit goal from us in Game 1.
