A week or two ago Holland gave an interview where he basically admitted Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco is here to stay. I can only assume Jurco will be sent down this season* but I'm sure he's up full-time next year from what Holland was implying. *If we still need to worry about the cap when he comes back. I know it's lifted in the playoffs. I just don't see a reason to send him down anymore if he completes a powerful third line.

Dallas Eakins loses his cool...thanks to some water

The jersey thing is funny, but I'm not sure what the problem is with Eakins. Wouldn't you be annoyed if you're in a stressful situation and someone hoses you with water, intentional or not? It's not like he assaulted Hall. Probably should've kept his mouth shut but it's hardly the most outrageous thing I've seen on a bench. -
Yeah, what the hell os going on with ice time lately? I dont understand Babcock but I guess it usually works out to some mad logic.

Helm should be higher than the fourth line...that's weird. Also, just saw Columbus lost last night. A win today would let us leapfrog them with games played even. That gives us a much needed edge.

If we can afford both there's no reason to part with Legwand or Weiss. That just makes us that much stronger. I'd rather Sheahan play on the wing, too. I don't know if he has any experience with that, but his style of play would really come in handing crashing in on the boards or the net for some dirty Homer-style goals.

Pulk really didn't do anything other than the slapper, though. Ferraro had some bonehead mistakes but overall he was pretty solid defensively. Great news that Helm is coming back. Please let him score like he was before Christmas.

Well, there Is a rumor floating out there that the Wings are front runners for a talented drafted Russian center who idolizes Datsyuk. He could replace Jarnkrok from the sounds of it. Honestly Holland has some tough choices ahead of him. Way more kids than there are available spots.

I'm beginning to think the Wings may just pull this off. Datsyuk should be back in what, five or six more games? Helm should come back next week. Just hang on, guys, the cavalry is coming.

Really? The Penguins had one great chance off a bad turnover. Other than that, the Wings are moving the puck, they scored, and they're playing solid defense. I've seen far, far worse. Maybe it just seems worse because of the high end talent Pittsburgh could spring loose at any minute, but in reality I think they're doing really good.

He's a center? That could explain the willingness to part with Jarnkrok. Maybe we'be already talked with him.

Things have gone our way the past two or three days, it's up to the team now to take advantage. They should be ready for a crazy third period push because of any team would win a crushing, come from behind back breaker against us it'd be Pittsburgh, with Crosby scoring the winner.

We usually play the Penguins well. Hopefully they play up to them. And the Pens D is pretty bad, too. Go all out on offense and we might be okay.

Columbus took a hit, too. I read somewhere that the Wings actually have the best odds right now to secure a spot out of others on the outside. I think both wild cards are in play now and the Wings have games in hand on everyone exceot Columbus. A lot hinges on if we can win the next game or two to at least make us the benchmark.

All I know Is Quincey coming back would immediately cost this team 10 wins next year. I hate this whole comfortable "wait and see" attitude. Holland will always be waiting and hoping Instead of takong proactive measures. I know the UFA pool is weak but he still has to find someone. A solid bottom three guy to replace Quincey at least.

I think we are more than fine in cap space. But I think with so much on the line Babcock might feel better with the devil he knows (Kindl) more than an unknown quantity on defense.

Helm, too. There is no doubt this team plays more dynamically with Helm than without. Weiss would also be solid secondary playmaker when healthy. A healthy team with Tatar, Sheahan and Nyquist instead of Cleary, Sammy, and Tootoo/Eaves/Bertuzzi is far more competitive. We all know they struggled to start tee year but we forget those new players who have earned a spot. To start the season we didn't have an effective third line or second line. Now we have both.

I'm not too worried about DeKeyser in the #2 spot. He can handle It. The kid has poise and a good head on his shoulders. It's the other shmucks being promoted to more ice time that scare me. And one more comment: the Leads fans infuriated me. Not only did they take over our house, but they did a better job at being fans than the Detroit ones. Theyy were loud, engaged and excited. Really made me realize how stale and dull our fanbase is.

We've got to make playoffs. We may finally get to see a fairly healthy roster if we do. God that'd be exciting. Beat Pittsburgh and Toronto and we'll be competitive again.

Miller was good but I agree about ice time. How were Franzen, Nyquist, etc. Not tops in time?

Wow, we lucked out there. Loved their hustle and heart but stop the sloppy passing and boneheaded plays in your own zone, guys. I didn't realize we had 2 games in hand on so many teams. As long as we don't lose a bunch and we win next game against Toronto, playoffs are in reach. Gotta get some bodies back, though.

Great hustle, aggressive with the puck, but terrible passing in their own zone. Lock it down. Teams we need to lose are losing. Just win.

The big deal is that he went into more detail. That's the state of modern sports. Everybody is as generic as possible, so when someone actually admits to something that we all can see, it's a "big deal." Though no one is saying it's a "big deal" really. Not like he insulted anyone. It's just a refreshing sign to have someone give us something other than the most generic, bland statement possible.

I hope Smith at forward helps him find his niche. How cool would it be if he was playing tge wrong position all along? He's looked great when he jumps into the offense at the goal mouth. It's a reach but we're about due for a lucky break, right?

Just put Weiss on thr Wing and Helm on the fourth and we'll be set. I'd rather they not go after a top 6 guy. Tatar and Nyquist should be ready for that role next season. Unless we have to trade a top 6 guy for a top 2 defenseman, then we'd need a replacement.
