Hopefully with line matching and better ice, in front of the home crowd, the Wings can grab Games 3 and 4 and head back to Anaheim with a 3-1 lead. I think they can do it.

Go read the Anaheim forums. They sound like this forum when we lose. You'd think Anaheim iced an AHL team. I'm not watching it, but I'm listening on the radio. Is Anaheim really playing as bad as their fans think?

I thought we did a good job of setting up in their zone. They didn't get too many second chances on Howard. They were better but not out of our league. It's not Like Detroit reverted to their old bad habits. The overreactions here are getting old. Bertuzzi might be a smart change, in for someone like Nyquist, who I thought looked bad. Bertuzzi would help Andersson's line.

I don't think we watched the same game. That game could easily.have gone the other way. We got tons of good chances. We hit. Nyquist got outmuscled once or twice, but we got into Anaheim's zone quite a bit. Flip was terrible, Nyquist was weak on the puck and Franzen didn't get a shot til late in the game. Could've been better but Anaheim didn't clearly outclass us. I'd like to see Bertuzzi in to help with possession on those bottom lines though.

I predict the Wings steal both games in Anaheim, lose Game 3 in Detroit (Sunday game, I think early afternoon, usually those aren't great) and win Games 4 and 6.

I love Datsyuk, but I'm not sure it's a good idea to retire his number. I don't.want to undercut his legacy, but if we retire him then we retire Zetterberg...then we retire every star we have. Save the retiring numbers for those who came to embody the team and city, topped their positions, etc. Datsyuk is the best player in the world, and has been for a few years, and is a fan favorite, but he isn't the only player to have a huge heart and carry this team on his back. That said Is be happy if they did retire his number, just not sure its necessary.

Ducks outshot us like crazy in our earlier games. Gotta be ready for the onslaught and capitalize on their mistakes. I have faith that the Wings can win this series.

If you go over to the Anaheim board, they're all a little nervous about facing Howard, and give him the edge in the series. In fact, there's a lot of pessimism over at the Duck HFboards. They're fans and root for the Ducks of course, but I don't see any 4,5, or 6 game predictions in their favor over there.

I like the things Bryz says. I hear he's weird, but what he said there made sense. In fact, it was almost wise. Maybe he's just too smart for his own good to thrive in a sports environment. Sports writers are among the worst paid writers in the world, after all.They seldom think critically, rely on formula and cliches to churn out article after article, and sensationalize everything. They're bad writers, too. I wish we lived in a world where deviating from the talking points didn't make headlines.

Key will be getting early victories. Avoid getting burned out, avoid crazy travel. Get the jump early, capitalize on their lack of discipline.

Howe would be an interesting replacement. It'd be good to have a Howe in line to run the team in the future.

We can beat Anaheim. Like people noted, the standings were really close. Over a full season we could've been much higher. But Anaheim isn't a one line team anymore. They've got three scoring lines. Our guys have to keep playing as strongly as they have.

Let's not forget the Blackhawks hired Bowman. Don't know if he counts since he was already great before he got here.

On paper, this should be an easy win. This is why I'm terrified.

I hated this season until the last week. There are some bright points but it wasn't fun watching them put zero effort in 50% of the time. I hope they win tonight so we can say this season was at least a partial success.
