I want a right handed sniper that loves to shoot. Please. No one on this team can score. We'd probably have to trade one of our young centers to get him, but you've got to give to get. After that I'd like to dump the little defense twins for stay at home types. I'd love to ship Rafalski but that's a pipe dream.

I would like to see this. Draper on any line kills it offensively. Although he has been much improved this year. Maybe because he's at the wing now? He has good speed and that line is pretty good, but it would generate more scoring punch with Abs on it IMO. Draper back to centering the 4th unless he can't handle it. Somebody is going to have to be converted to winger for this team. We've got so many nice centers and no wingers.

I had to DVR the game. Watched it this morning. Man, what a stinker! I haven't see a game this bad since buffalo. The team was not ready to start the game...again. The had absolutely no answer for the forecheck all night long. I can't remember one dangerous attempt on Roloson the whole game. That's terrible. Anyone thinking goaltending was a problem tonight is wrong. The only goal I thought was soft was the 4th. It didn't make any difference though because we got completely owned all night long. I was actually surprised when we got the puck into their zone on a couple occasions. Awful, just awful. Forget about it and move on.

I haven't watched him play much, but last time I saw him play I was surprised how good his first pass was. I heard he was more defensive than nick, but he was making smart nice plays. Maybe he's not able to do that all the time,? I'd welcome a bigger stay at home guy that can make a good first pass. Anyone know what his salary is off hand?

Maltby was a pretty damn good agitator in his day. Plus he did it with a lower level of douchness IMO. Every game he would just say s*** and then skate into guys that would punch him in the face. Free power plays for the best PP in hockey. Agitation at it's finest. I'm not saying Maltby is, was, better at it. I'm just saying there's so many ways to qualify it.

The mindset going into the playoffs this year is going to be different than it was last year obviously. We're not supposed to win the cup this year. We're probably going to be a 6-8 seed. We're going to be looking to spoil someones party. Hawks? Sharks perhaps? Everything after that is gravy IMO. I know people still have high hopes for our team. I do as well, but we're underdogs this year. Nobody with big expectations is going to want to face us, for obvious reasons.

I'm not sure why the need to place labels like, 'best ever" on things. Everyone always thinks the best or most or whatever happens in their era. The league has been going on an awful long time. Let's just say he's very good at what he tries to do.

I'm not sure why people think this should be an automatic win. The Islanders are 6-3-1 in their past 10 games. They been playing much better since the start of the season. This game will require a full effort to get 2 points, just like they all do.

Nightmare on Helm street strikes again.

The whole team was excellent tonight. Jimmy stops pucks. The nightmare on Helm street was a beast again tonight. Datsyuk looked like himself tonight all over the ice.

Defensive systems will always find new ways to keep games close. That will not change unless you want to start penalizing trapping teams for illegal defense or some such thing. As for the clutch and grab. Remember when Florida mad it to the finals that one year. Well that was the most embarrassing thing to happen in our sport in some time. To me, a team that reaches the final should actually have players with at least a sliver of talent.

The kid is not going to say, "Hell yeah I'm the #1 bro". He seems really excited in the interviews. He mentioned something about being so amp'd up that he can't sleep after games. It's kind of funny because that's how he plays, amp'd up, haha. He's seems like a good guy. He's not going to create any problems with Osgood or the coaching staff. He's enjoying himself. I doubt he cares about the rest of it. He's finally living his dream of playing in the NHL and so far so good. That was a awful game last night but he was amazing. He got lots of help from his team and he thanked them in the media. He wasn't afraid to admit it. I really like that about him.

Yeah he was such a star for the Isles and Blues that they wanted nothing more to do with him. They chose to go in another direction just like we did. Look the guy was desperate to get back to detroit. He knew where his bread was buttered. He's no dummy. His number with those clubs weren;t anything special either .884, .910. He played decent but wasn't a deciding factor present or in their future.

Glad that others have picked up the voice of reason and common sense I was trying to convey in the thread. My head was beginning to numb from banging it against the wall. I think most people want the team to have the best chance to win, including the coaching staff.
