Let's look at a more individual stat instead of a team stat like wins. 2005-2006 .897 2.76 26 in the league 2006-2007 .907 2.38 33 in the league 2007-2008 .914 2.09 34 in the league 2008-2009 .887 3.09 76 in the league 2009 2010 .901 2.72 48 in the league When I look at these numbers it doesn't impress me at all. One very good season, one very average and two poor seasons. This year obviously isn't over yet but it's shaping up for another mediocre effort. And let's not forget to state the obvious. These were numbers put up behind the best team in the league during this time span.

Comparing the situation with Toronto isn't really fair. The monster hasn't played quite as well as Howard. More importantly Toronto want's to trade Toskala, so they are trying to increase his trade value. They have been all year. Personally I think they're nuts. No one will give them anything at the deadline for Toskala.

Glad that those guys are coming back. I'm not sure how much they will provide tonight, I just hope they comeback and don't get hurt again.

C'mon man you forgot one simple point in all of this you wrote. The fact we'd be shooting on Osgood in all these match ups. Can you imagine Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Franzen, Hossa, etc. shooting against Osgood. They'd light him up man sorry. He's a decent goalie that played well for us but any team that we played that had Osgood in their net would have lost to us.

Weird....They seem to give us all we can handle most every time we play them. The season series is usually pretty split, playoffs especially.

We'll actually I agree with you there. I think he's playing the way he always does, but I was just saying it gentle for all the Osgood slappy's that might be reading.

With how your brain works the answer would be......yes! Also I hate to break it to you but the Ducks are capable of beating any team in this league on any night. That team is playoff battle tested and plays hard against us. They lost some players and had some injuries but they can play. Any hockey fan knows this.

Howard faced the Hawks also and while he gave up the same amount of goals, he looked better. That 2nd goal in the Anaheim game that came off the backend was a bad break. Osgood has already given up at least one of those goals this year as well. That was bang bang. He still finished north or .900 save %. That's hall of fame numbers according to some around here. Are you really suggesting to start an ice cold, off his game Osgood right now when we need these points? That makes no sense. Wait until we get more bodies back and the guys get scoring more, so we have a better margin of error to bring chris back into the fold. Simple.

So let me ask you a question. In the playoffs the last 2 years if we switched goalies with any of the teams we faced do you think the winner of the series changes? .....Me either.

Is this you being serious? Osgood was terrible in that Chicago game. All 3 goals were awful. That's why his ass hasn't played since. If you think differently, then we need not discuss further. In the Ducks game Howard gave up one bad goal, the first one. He stopped countless breakaways in that game. He looked a little shaky but made the saves anyway. If Osgood had been in net for that game we would have been down 5-0 before the second period because chris can't stop the puck on breakaways or odd man rushes.

I've been very surprised with Janik. He's made some bone headed plays out there, but he's made less of them than the other usual suspects. He's got better size back there and obviously can play on the PK. We must have the smallest, softest D in the league right now. Rafalski, Lebda, Meech.....yuck. Once teams establish position in our zone they can cycle at will. Kind of surprised that were not getting scored on more at even strength.

Howard didn't have his best game tonight. That was one of the worst 1st periods I can remember this year. We simply had no compete level. Everyone was drained from laying around at the beach or something. I think he faced like 3 or 4 breakaways in the first alone. I think sometimes Rafalski forgets what color his jersey is.

Chris will get an opportunity real soon. He needs to be BETTER than he has been. If he plays solid and doesn't give up weak goals through his body or 5 hole he get the next start. If he plays poor he'll be sitting again. It's that simple.

Kronwall was making everything happen on the PP before he got injured. Him and Z will definitely help. It was really brutal to watch last night. I was hiding my eyes, as they kept turning it over at the blue line for breakaways.
