Pucks "Hey Gary what's up with that disallowed goal for the Wings the other night?" Gary "Never happened. Got any bananas?"
-
NHL = bush league. Only in this league can you shoot the puck in the net and have it completely fubar'd by the whole incompetent lot of them. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
-
Nice. I also enjoyed that guy shooting his glove like a clay pigeon......lol.
-
He is descended of Likens.

I'd love to somehow be able to steal keith if they couldn't sign him. Just wishful thinking though.

There's a thread related to this over at hockeyleaks. The guys friend supposedly works over at TSN. He told him that the deal being talked about was that Anahiem is sending Giguere, Sbisa and Erik Christiansen to Detroit for Brian Rafalski and Jimmy Howard. This is about the only trade I've seen that is at least doable salary wise. Obviously Giggy and Raf have no NTC's though.

Utter nonsense there.

Zetterberg with a major brain cramp right there. I could have potted that one. )
-
Cleary did that intentionally IMO. I believe it was because players were taking liberties with Zetterberg. Sending a message if you will. I doubt he'll get suspended because the sister wasn't hurt on the play. I'm glad he did it. Did anyone else notice the battle that Kesler and Zetterberg had going? Almost like a playoff matchup. Zetterberg sure was fired up when he scored that beauty backhander.

Great to see Jimmy playing well. He can play even better IMO. It would be very prudent to get him in some more games and not have to wait for two weeks to play again. He's looking more relaxed as his confidence grows. He's still coming a bit too far out if his net, which is also where the rebound control issue is coming from IMO. He has great mobility and quickness so it seems odd they have him challenging so hard. That being said, he stopped a lot of deflections last night because he out on top of the crease. Great win for him and the team last night. As one of the few people who claimed he was an NHL goalie I wish him continued sucess.

That was a brutal penalty call against Stuart there.

You'd lose that bet. I've been watching the Wings since 91. I've only missed a handful of games since then. I watch hockey from around the league pretty much every night. I love the game. I don't base my thoughts off stats, never have. When your goalie gives up a goal on like the 1st or 2nd shot it deflates the whole team. They think "not again tonight" The team didn't want to battle back. They seem to be getting tired of it, and so am I. Osgood wasn't the only one who sucked last night for sure. However his position is far to important from him to be playing this inconsistently. What's with all the turnovers by him this season handling the puck? He either get's in the way of his defense behind the net, or throw's it up along the sideboards for a turnover.
-
Depends what they want for him. I hope they do grab him though, he'd steal the starting job in a week.
-
A huge save? No I would love him to make the f*cking routine ones. But he rarely does because he's woefully inept just like you and your eyesight.
-
Can we convince some gm that he's a puck moving defensemen? Then trade them for their stay at home guy? That would be great.
-
why would I want to trade this. It has pretty colors

He flashes more gash than Paris Hilton

Our regular goaltending is back it seems. Bummer. Williams knee is fubar.

I was going to edit my previous post to be more precise but then i found this article at Spector that explains it clearly. A Quick Note on Peter Forsberg. Friday, November 6, 2009, 11:25 AM EST [Peter Forsberg] Fans of former NHL star Peter Forsberg are aware the former Hart and Art Ross trophy winner is currently playing for Sweden in the Karjala Cup, an annual international tournament - involving Sweden, Russia, Finland and the Czech Republic - held in Finland. It's believed Forsberg, whose playing career has been waylaid due to pain in his surgically repaired right foot in recent years, may be using the tournament as a possible springboard for a return to the NHL. As a result it was believed those NHL teams potentially interested in signing Forsberg ran the risk of losing him to waivers, however, Paul Kukla and friends over at Kukla's Korner have determined this isn't the case, courtesy of an e-mail to NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly. I and others believed he had to clear waivers first because he'd played three games for MoDo of the Swedish Elite League but it's been determined he played those games prior to the start of the NHL season and hasn't played any more since. The CBA states that a player who participates in an professional league game other than in the NHL during an NHL season would have to clear waivers. That doesn't apply to Forsberg in this case. Furthermore, international tournaments like the Karjala Cup aren't considered playing a professional league game. In a nutshell, Forsberg doesn't have to clear waivers if he signs with an NHL team for this season. By the way, does anyone in the free world actually think this guy can play out a contract in the NHL anymore? Also if Colorado can keep it going it seems like a no-brainer situation there for him.
-
I'm no Huet fan, but you can say this and provide a list of teams for most every goalie in this league. Our's included.
-
Foresberg does NOT have to clear waivers. It applies if he participates in league play, which he hasn't and won't. Tournament play doesn't count as a league.
-
The last 2 teams we've met have been struggling to score goals. If we can keep it up against a more offensive team like the sharks on Thursday then it will be more significant. Hopefully it's a trend.
-
Yes. Even more when I see these threads. Or when people want to compare him with luongo. Those same people should call up Yzerman and let him know that he should be the starter for team Canada since he's the best goalie to ever live.

Chris has been battling a problem in a very private manor. I doubt he or his family reads here but I'm not going to post about it. Glad he got the shutout. Glad we got the win. Looking forward to the next game.
