I guess so we could see the uber mastery from all angles.

Jiri's skating looks to have improved a little since he left

The key to both the Ward and Lundqvist saves we positioning. Neither guy over challenged and gave the net away. They both gave themselves a chance to make a save, and that's exactly what they did.

This was my feelings on the whole situation as well. I had Quincey as a cheaper, younger, rougher version of Lilja with way more upside. His profile at TSN for career was always a top 4 defenseman. That's what I thought he'd be. The guy didn't get much of a look at the NHL level. The problem was this whole, I'm signing everybody and we'll see who plays well at camp. That's a moronic way to handle prospects. Seriously. The guy couldn't settle down and relax. He was tired of being sent down to the minors when he knew he should be in the NHL. He was pressing and trying to do too much. Trying to be extra physical and taking fighting lessons. Trying to add an element we needed. I even remember Mike Babcock saying he wanted Kyle to simplify and let the game come to him. He could tell he was pressing. Last year after Quincey was playing so well for L.A. you could tell Babcock wished they had kept him. Saying in the media that they should have just given him the spot. He was right they should have. He would have earned it after he felt comfortable. IMO this is exactly why Howard is getting his chance. They don't want to give any more talent away without seeing it in action with the big club for an extended period of time. That's just smart hockey operations. Quincey obviously wouldn't be putting up the points here that he has with L.A. or Colorado, because we don't need anymore PP quarterbacks. IMO he would look damn fine playing with Ericsson. It's not the end of the world that we gave him away, but it was a mistake that had everything to do with Chelios and loyalty. Everyone please just admit it so we can all move on.

Not interested in your Osgood mangasm. The team was terrible yesterday and Osgood was among the worst of them. Bored now. Please continue.
-
Maltby has what 4 cups? He must be the best forward in the league.
-
Osgood was hung out to dry by his terrible 5 hole coverage. I'd like to take his nut cup away, then maybe he'd cover that spot.
-
Get Howard in for crying out loud.
-
I'm sorry but that's pathetic goaltending.
-
5 hole too big right now.
-
It's also quite fitting that the guys that were kept over him, Lebda, Meech, Chelios together couldn't land you Quincey in a trade.
-
The guy played 4 years in Grand Rapids. The brass should have known what they had in Quincey. So instead they sign chelios to a pointless contract. Then tell Quincey they don't care what he's done in our system, It's going to come down to a training camp tryout. Gee I wonder why that didn't work out.

Flip and Leino belong in the top 6 and Holmer and Bertoothie belong in the bottom 6, or the pressbox.

E_S_A_D your taking credit for something you didn't purpose. May is a hockey player that can fight. The exact type of player that every single person on this forum said they wanted. He's not a goon that tries to play hockey, BIG difference here. But I digress. Glad he's aboard :beerbuddy:
-
A hockey player that can fight? Hell yeah. A fighter that tries to play hockey? No thank you.
-
For the record I though May looked pretty good in the few games he got to try out. I wouldn't mind him on the team at all. However the only significant impact on the team he will have is for the trainer.

Will You Be Surprised if the Wings dont make the Playoffs?
Pucks replied to RyanK's topic in General
would I be surprised if the wings didn't.....wait WTF? -
The only Conn Smythe Chris Osgood will ever win is My bronze leagues Semi annual Beer chugging contest. He's got my vote.
-
Put Jimmy in for the third. The puck is not hitting Osgood. the team needs a lift!
-
It's too bad injuries cut his career short because Forsberg was one of the best to ever lace skates. Period. As a Red Wing fan and a hockey fan, this much is fact.
-
I think Howard would play much better if the guy could just get a win. He can't seem to relax and let the game come to him. You can see when he plays he's constantly trying to hard. That most likely comes from not enough opportunity in the past. You could see it in Quincey's game last year during training camp. He wanted to impress so badly that he played himself right off the roster. It looks like the wings are going to give him some rope. We'll see if he emerges or hangs himself with it.

This poll should only have 2 names on it. Lebda or Meech. 3 if you want to throw in Lilja for good times.
