That would be amazing!

This s*** is so off topic now lol, quick everyone go back to talking trash about Ritola, now that he's gone. Wow! please use google next time to translate your posts. Kid, Hmmm I'm much older than you obviously. Let me help you out here. Nothing special = average, Lemon = faulty....understand? like your car.
-
I only remember because of your avatar. You defended Osgood as being fine and regaining the starting position and blah, blah, etc. to ad nauseum levels. After it was obvious you were wrong on our debate you were no where to be found for quite a while, except over at HF where I also read. The poster here that has a white fat cat for his avatar will remember the arguments as well because he also participated. Sorry don't remember his user name. There was like 2 different topics that were massive amounts of posts.
-
You going to admit you were way off on the Osgood debate?
-
My attention to you? My only attention was to your moronic Osgood posts. You got so unraveled you had to leave. That was cute. I love when people get things wrong they never bother to come back and say, "Hey I was wrong or whatever", they just jump on the wrong side of the next debate...classic.
-
More pearls of wisdom from Doc...lmao! How's that discussion going we had last year regarding the goalies? You were wrong then, like usual. You ran off to HFboards for a while to escape. Now your back, good luck.
-
Sorry man but your posts just continue to fail. I can't even figure out what your trying to argue? You said Shawn Matthias is a lemon? Your just flat out wrong, he's a fine young player learning his way in this league. He's currently centering the 2nd line on his team. What you or anyone think he was supposed to be matters not. I'm not discussing that trade or the Ritola waiver, I'm saying the guy is NOT A LEMON
-
Wow bro maybe you should use your head before you post again. Lets compare your so called lemon Shawn Matthias with I don't know how about Abdelkader? Last year in the NHL Shawn Matthias Panthers 55 7 9 16 -3 22yrs old Justin Abdelkader Red Wings 50 3 3 6 -11 23yrs old So by your brilliant deduction Abdelkader would also be a Lemon? Neither player has even played a full 82 game season yet. * Sorry everyone this is off topic but you can blame crysomuch for jumping on the OMGZORZ he doesn't play for the Wings anymore so he must SUCKZOR train!
-
Lol a lemon? He's a 22yr old 6'3" blazing fast young player scoring goals for his team as we speak. I wish all lemons were like that.
-
When was the last time he had a quality outing? 2 seasons ago?
-
Ok people please quit saying this it makes no damn sense. If Osgood played every game would he probably be better? yes probably, but the team would suffer for it. I guess we should take out Datsyuk and put in Abdelkader? Justin will improve his play right? sure but at a cost to the team. The best way for Osgood to help his team is to play less, and be a good teammate.
-
Could have won this game with some competent goaltending. Oh well, at least Datsyuk is worth the price of admission.
-
No reason to ever watch, it was a s***ty game.
-
Turco really? He might have been good enough to get it done with the team they had last year? This years team? not a chance in hell. They throw away a young goalie they know can play at a high level to save a million bucks? Welcome back central division title, glad to see it was only a one year departure from your home
-
Hopefully he doesn't hurt anyone while practicing

http://www.freep.com/article/20100720/SPORTS05/7200369/1053/Sports05/Mike-Modano-Ill-decide-on-future-next-month That article enforces the thought process I was trying to convey before all the clones derailed the thread. Those who think Helm and Abby are excited about Modano on this team are just being silly. Mike Modano will cost them money in their pockets, that's a fact. Being removed from a scoring line to get scrap minutes on the 4th plus PK. Those guys don't strike me as stupid, and neither are their agents. They have no leverage now being RFA's except to take a short term deal if Modano signs, and that's exactly what they're doing. We'd be much better off telling Modano to piss off and signing both those young guys to longer deals. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make them drink"

No time for nostalgia! http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/column...ott&id=5403991 Quote: Originally Posted by Scott Burnside No time for nostalgia It will be interesting to see how the Mike Modano saga plays out. Will he retire? Will he go "home" to Michigan and give it one last shot with the Red Wings? (Detroit coach Mike Babcock said publicly he thinks it's a given Modano will be a Red Wing come October.) To us, this is where nostalgia runs smack dab into reality. Modano missed 23 games to injury last season while scoring 14 times from a mostly third-line position on the Dallas Stars. He averaged 14:18 a night in ice time and scored just three times on the power play. Modano scored just 15 times in 2008-09 and posted only 12 power-play goals over the past three seasons. We're not sure exactly how he fits into the Wings' plans to rebound from a trying, injury-plagued 2009-10 campaign that saw them fall in the second round to San Jose. It's not an issue of whether Modano has the will to lace 'em up in September or October; but what is his will to play out an entire season? That seemed to be an issue in Dallas the past couple of seasons and explains in part why the Stars made the choice to walk away from a player who has been the face of the franchise for two decades. If we were Wings GM Ken Holland, we'd take a run at Bill Guerin or Paul Kariya to add veteran scoring punch and give one of your young prospects a shot at centering the third line. Less nostalgic, perhaps; but, in the long run, we're guessing it would be a more productive move with less potential for dressing-room headaches. Outside I must

Also I just wanted to point out that the 3rd line is going to be a scoring line this year with Hudler whether it's Modano, Helm, Abdelkader or whoever else. Last year it was a AHL line. Everybody's numbers are going to be a lot better this season with a healthy team. Now I really am going outside. I don't want to end up with 20,000 posts on a message board, that's just all kinds of sad. No offense.
-
Thanks I am a funny guy. Helm looks like a guy waiting to emerge to me. He has all the tools. I think he could even play a support role on a scoring line, with all that speed and forechecking ability. He may never get that chance here since it seems like we want him to go backwards instead of forwards. Why might we lost Ritola for nothing? Well, in hockey there are 12 forward, have you looked at our roster if you add Modano, Helm and Abdelkader? Do the math if you can? I've had my say, no point in arguing around in circles with the clones. It's a beautiful day, I'm going outside.
-
I watched Modano play about 20 games last year. He's A ghost of his former self, that's a fact. Maybe some of that was environment, maybe he would be excited and passionate to play here? No one knows. He looked like he quit on his team to me, from the games I watched. His own team want's to move on, that's exactly what the Wings should do. A few extra goals from the 3rd spot? Big deal it's not worth it.
-
That's the problem isn't it? you had to speak about his past. He's not that player anymore, far from it. Helm would score much better this season with Hudler on his line and some stability. He can do everything we need from the 3rd line center, everything. Modano fits fine but we don't need him. We have to many forwards as it is. We probably lose Ritola for nothing and maybe more. Why to fill a spot that that's already occupied by a great young player? This isn't pre lockout, where you can sign a vet to play every position. This is short sided thinking, it's a bad practice. I hope the guy just retires.
-
Yeah it is. Look I can do it too. You post too much by the way, no need to be so controlling. Everyone is entitled to an opinion on the subjects of this board.
-
I didn't say Modano was sabotaging the Wings, It's Kenny that's trying to fill holes we don't have. He's going to wonder why his next contract discussion with Helm doesn't go so well.
-
Seriously?.... Helm is a NHL caliber 3rd line center right now, right now. He will be that or more his entire career in the NHL, no matter where he plays. Abdelkader hasn't played a full year yet but he looks NHL caliber to me. It's a concern.
-
Those who don't think Modano is holding up the contracts of Helm and Abdelkader are being naive. Of course that's the holdup. If I were those guys I'd want want short term deals if this is how they're treated. Eaves and Miller should have been signed after those guys and Modano should be last if there's anything left. I'd hat to lose a decade of Helm or Abby for Modano on his last legs. Before anyone cries, yes I understand that both will sign contracts, they have no leverage NOW, but when UFA comes? How would you feel at work if your boss kept shoving you to the bottom of the pile? It's a real concern if your able to think beyond today.
