You probably will get flamed, but your post is the most coherent one I've read. The others are in denial or fantasy land. I'd be really surprised if Osgood got more than 10-15 starts. The central is so tough now. Unless we get off to a really great start, we're going to be scratching for every point again.

Honestly that whole one hand on the stick really pissed me off. Our defenders also do it as along the boards trying to free up the puck instead of using their positioning and size to separate people from the puck. It's something they could all improve on and one of the biggest reason teams can cycle at will in our zone. Not to mention that one hand on the stick will get you extra trips to the box.

The Williams signing was epic fail from the start. I can't remember anyone on any Wings board that thought it was a good idea. It was quite puzzling indeed since we had all viewed that movie before. He was not worth what he was getting paid the first time we traded him away. His game had not changed or evolved in any way. Yeah the guy was cheap, but a lot of guys were cheap at that point in the off season. Please oh please can we stop with this damn forward on the blue line s***, it's retarded. It was stupid with Williams the first time, stupid with Sammy, stupid with Willims the second time. C'mon.

Franzen was sick tonight. Ericsson was a horse as well. He looked like the guy from the last playoffs. Some guys just play better with more minutes. Hope he can keep it up, we need him with Stuart hurting. Well we're finally on the board. Ge the win on Saturday and we got ourselves a series. The refs finally stayed out of the way until the game was already decided. That was very nice to see.

That game last night was an abomination! I've been watching hockey since the early 90's. I've seen a lot of bad calls over that time frame. Last night was the first time I just said f*** it. I turned the game off while the Wings were still leading by a goal. I had simply had enough. These games are supposed to be for the fans. Those officials should be ashamed of themselves. I hope they made a lot of money last night. If any of us were that incompetent at our jobs we'd be fired. Without a doubt. You know it's bad when the broadcasters start asking whats going on. I'll watch the next game, but the refs owe the Wings quite a bit. If the officiating keeps on the same way, I'm not going to waste my time or emotions on a farce. Other fans wonder why Wing fans feel like were targeted? Get ******* real. We might as well just put Bertuzzi in the booth. They won't even let the guy skate around for f***s sake.

Winning a cup doesn't make you an elite player. Chris was never considered an elite goalie in this league at any time. Draper and Maltby have more cups than he does. Do they go up also? How about McCarty? ....LOL chris is a fan favorite, he does not belong up in the rafters next to Yzerman and Lidstrom for gods sake! Give your head a shake people.

Kronwall, Cleary, Franzen = C at best. I didn't even realize Kronner was playing in that series. Sometimes it's all about matchups. Hopefully the guys that didn't impact much in this series will kill in the next.

Flip was amazing in this series. Worked his ass off on both sides of the puck. Since coming back from the Olympics he's been playing an elite level of hockey IMO. Now if we can just get Franzen and Cleary scoring goals were going to be hard to beat.

Great post! This is one of the things that really bothers me about the league. One team will mug the other and somehow the PP try's will be even or sometimes the mugging team will actually get more. It's completely retarded. I also hate how the other team can put a Wing on his ass in front of the net all game long and the minute the Wings do it it's straight to the box. I'm starting to think you can only play physical if your from the north, like only northern people know how to crosscheck and face wash? It's a real conundrum.

Mule keeps waiting too long to shoot, then the play get's closed off and he ends up going around the net. The same thing was happening to Bert all season long. Can't wait or the play closed down. JUST SHOOT please. It's like they want to show off the deke skillz. Just SHOOT!

Detroit carried the play the entire game. Bryz was good early and the Coyotes got every damn break in this game. If we're buzzing around like this next game I like our chances. GO WINGS!

Stuart was a beast tonight. He was like a one man penalty killer at times out there. Bravo!

Detroit lost both games after they had to travel. Hopefully that will end tonight. Go Wings!

Z has been much improved from the regular season. I hope he can continue at this high level, we need him. I wouldn't complain if the Mule heated up either.

They're goaltending has not been good either. It's hard to score like 6 or 7 goals against the Pens just to get a win.

Wings played a much more structured game on defense, they didn't hang him out to dry tonight. It allowed Jimmy to track pucks and stay in better position. The few times he had to scramble he came through with the big saves. I'm so glad to see him get the shutout, he deserves it.

Glad Babcock finally got that haircut he was supposed to get before the playoffs began. Everything is as it should be now. Wings played much more structured game which made it a lot easier on Jimmy, who was solid as a rock tonight. Way to go fellas.

^This^ Look the guy's a rookie. He hasn't been as good as he was during the regular season IMO, but I kind of expected as much. It's a lot of pressure, he's probably mentally tired. His team isn't giving him the best support in his own end. I hope he'll be able to relax and player better, he deserves it. He's the reason were in the post season anyway.
