Looks like Zetterberg is back from vacation or wherever he was. Very strong game again tonight. Fill also with an excellent game, he's been really noticeable since the olympics. That line looks so much better with Bert on it instead of Cleary. Crosby is a poor sport as always, no surprise there. Glad Jimmy tried to twist his helmet off. The Joe seemed like it was rockin tonight baby. Great win!

Odd decision by Rafalski on their goal to turn back into the pressure, when he had much more room around the other side. Wings playing well, shame the flightless birds got that lucky one.

That second line looked better last night with him on it. He makes really questionable decisions with the puck most times. Let's hope he can limit those plays and be more consistent.

Hell yeah! Z got some mustard on that backhand. Finally some goals for Bert and Z. Fill played great also. Datsyuk was all world.

You could see all this coming. Wings were really outplaying the IMO.

I had a feeling this wasn't going to be successful as I posted earlier. When you put 2 guys who are struggling with one who has a hard time producing anyway, that's not a recipe for success. However I don't blame babcock for trying, he has to do something. We have no second line.

He's got lot's of holes in his game. He's not alone unfortunately.

Seems like overpayment, but every team has some of those contracts, even us. At least it's not 10-12 yrs.

He reminded me of Kane in some sections of that video. To me the most critical element in our game these days is skating. If you have it you can be successful, if you don't your sunk. That's why Leino failed(can't skate). He's obviously got hands and visions. Can he make plays without space and time with that size? No one knows until he's in the lineup.

I think Lilja could easily get 2 million bucks on the market. He could have got more last time but he wanted to stay in Detroit. If the Wings decide to let him go I could see him following his buddy Sammy to play in Vancouver. It's a bit of a dilemma for Holland because we need him to stay, yet covet the roster spot for Kindl. It will be interesting to see what happens with that in the off season.

I thought Holland was going to wait until the off season to look at contracts? Unless Homer is willing to sign a ultra cheap one year deal, why not wait? I love Homer, but let's wait and see if he can stay healthy enough to help us the rest of the season and playoffs(if we get in).

Same situation with Osgood as with Draper. That's 3 million bucks between the two of them that will be wasted for next year. It's shame but we have to wait an extra year to make that money useful.

Sammy really got the short end of the stick when Hossa signed. Forced him down to less minutes, same with Fil really. He can be very inconsistent and take some really awful shots, but he's always been a lot better than most here give him credit for. Holland had to make some difficult cap decisions, Sammy was one of those. If he knew now what happend with Hudler going over seas and Hossa signing in Chicago I believe he would have signed Sammy to about 2 million. Personally I hated losing a right handed shot with size, but I didn't like how babcock used him on the point. To play the point you need to make smart, quick decisions and that's not Sammy's game. Always thought he'd be much more valuable down low on his off wing, firing the one timers on the PP. It was quite funny that some thought Williams would be a good replacement for him though. He's a much better player than Bert or Willy obviously, but we had to shop at the bargain bin last summer.

Nice to get the two points. I thought the wings deserved to win this game. Buffalo got two weak/lucky goals. I thought we carried most of the play. Still waiting for all the usual suspects to get going. The 2nd line, Bert, Willy, c'mon guys.

Forgot you were on this forum, I'll have to be more specific for you. We need another goalie that doesn't suck to play with Howard. Doc, don't derail this thread like you do every other goalie one. You've had your say on the subject now let others do the same. You don't need to respond to every single post that doesn't share your opinion. IMO if Osgood wasn't under contract for next year he wouldn't be coming back, but since he is were stuck with him unfortunately.

WE need another goalie to play some games next year. Howard can't play 82.
