2012 NHL Trade Deadline Thread - February 27th, 3:00 PM ET

First rounder? No way. Roy or Pominville would be worth a first, not a bottom-6 player with limited offensive upside. -

Hope it's a case of crossed wires. The more I think about it, the more I'd like him in Detroit. -

I posted this in rumours but I may as well add to the discussion here. The Isles are taking offers on Parenteau. Do you think that Detroit should make a pitch for him? -
Just saw on TSN trade centre that P.A. Parenteau is being actively shopped by the Isles. Over 50-points the last 2 seasons on a bad team, not the biggest but is a right hand shot and can play physical. What do you think?

Glad to have Bert back but I'm not sure 2 years is a good deal for Detroit. I'd like a little more flexibility in our roster for the younger guys coming through.

Kyle Quincey traded to Detroit in 3 team trade (TBL & COL)

Looks like Quincey wasn't well liked by his team mates, still can't get my head around this deal. John Buccigross Twitter -

Highlight of the preseason , the injury to Mursak definitely put a dampener on things, here's to a speedy recovery. -
Looks like former prospect Stefan Liv was on the plane too. TSN

Words can't describe how horrible this is.
-
He'll be vulnerable to waivers, two-way contracts only state your NHL/AHL salary, you still have to pass waivers if you're of the appropriate age/experience.
-
All the best in retirement Drapes, I hope that Kenny will keep you on as playoff beard consultant.
-
For those of you who don't want to click the link and watch the video, he says that the NHLPA will have alcohol/drug rehab for a player covered by a fake injury report but he also states that he isn't 100% sure that it does actually happen. Yes, he contradictions himself.

Thanks for all the years Ozzie, enjoy a well-earned retirement.
-
Facebook page says media conference call, guess Ozzie will be back for one more year.

Habs shopping Wisniewksi's rights + for a 2nd rounder
IrishWing19 replied to crazy13's topic in General
It's worth mentionig that in these type of deals the pick is, usually, conditional, Holland would only lose the 2nd if he can't come to an agreement with Wishnewski. With that in mind, it'd have to be a pick in 2012 and not one of Ottawa's picks. -
It was Brooks Laich on the way home after losing Game 7 last year.
-
If you announce your retirement, you can't play in the NHL for a year. Neidermayer didn't make an announcement, he just didn't sign a contract with anyone. There's no way Rafalski reverses his decision.
-
+1 Being on a 1 or 2-way deal has absolutely no bearing on AHL eligibility, only on the amount of money you're getting paid.
-
Even if Crosby's participation wasn't in doubt, Lidstrom and Crosby would have been picked. I presume the NHL's thinking is one captain from each conference.
-
Eaves playing keep away with Pav. And he holds his own!
-
Cleary OK towards the middle of the article.
-
Glad Cleary is ok, is there a reason why they haven't put Rafalski onto IR? They'd at least be able call up some from GR for the weekend. Although Abby skated in contact drills and might be good to go.

In America (and most places outside Ireland), yes, the Guiness is awful. In Ireland, it's like having a small meal, nothing like water.
