I need a drink

Well at least we don't have to worry about choking on a third period lead this time.

Please don't let you-know-who score a goal on us.

Three really good starts out of seven is not what I would call a great starting goaltender. When you are a starting goaltender you are kind of expected to have more good games than bad.

10/17 GDT: Avalanche 4 at Red Wings 3, (SO)
Lovin Jiri Fischer replied to Hockeytown0001's topic in General
Just got back from the game. What a disappointment. I gave up homecoming tailgate fun at MSU to go to this game with my family. I hate to be an Osgood basher or start a huge argument or anything, but we need to fix this goalie situation now. Babcock needs to either find a way to make Ozzie perform consistently this year or we need to find a goalie who will. I love Ozzie and I know he was really valuable to us in the last 2 playoff runs, but I don't know if I can stomach watching him consistently give up 3 goals per game this season too. -
Jason Williams is a hockey playing machine and Holmstrom leads the team in goals.

Red Wings bring back student rush program

If I went with my brother to get tickets do you think there is a decent chance we would get them next to each other? -
The NHL is starting to resemble the taliban more and more every day. The league pretty much censors what everyone else thinks, and heaven forbid you disagree with them then you get fined or suspended. There's no honesty in the coaches' and players' speech anymore because everyone is afraid to get punished. Sean Avery got suspended for acting like a sixth grader. Quinn got fined for this one. Remember last year when Quennville got fined for showing his disagreement with the officiating during one game against us? If anyone sticks his neck out to challenge something the NHL or its officials have done, they are instantly punished. But the violence and headshots are allowed to continue. Take Malkin's non-suspension for his instigator penalty, even though it's in the RULE BOOK!.

Wings sign Brad May to 1 Year Deal, $500k
Lovin Jiri Fischer replied to hockeygods's topic in General
I like this. The Wings don't need to sign a bunch of superstar players. All this team needs is some people to fill in the holes, and I think May will fill in some of what we need in the physical department and bring some motivation hopefully. -
[GDT] 10/3 - Red Wings, 3 @ Blues, 5 (Stockholm)

We need to find a goalie that is not Jimmy Howard. I'm not trying to be negative here, but when was the last time we really saw him with a great performance other than the exhibition game a few days ago in Sweden? How many chances are we going to give him? -

Oh God -
Philly is good but not that good that everyone picked them to go to the finals. I think the Caps are better.

No Friday classes this semester thank God! Except I love how I work on Thursday nights and there is a game every Thursday this month pretty much (except two of them are late and I work till 9:30) -
This is so scary. What if the Sharks figured out how to switch modes and since they are sucking so bad right now in the regular season they will be awesome in the playoffs.

Well I'm glad to see that after the Hawks embarassed the NHL the Wings can clean up the mess. -

I love the silly music -
I think Chicago is going to be a huge disappointment this year. The NHL is acting like they were completely dominating the league last year. Yeah they got pretty far in the playoffs, but the Wings finished them in 5 games. That's a pretty short series. And they haven't really improved much in the offseason. They gained a lot with the signing of some players, but let's not forget that they lost Havlat and Khabibulin. They gained Kopecky. Hossa is out for the first part of the season with an injury. How do they expect to go from that to Stanley Cup champions?
-
Do these writers all plagiarize after each other? I swear I've heard this exact same article like 6 other times. The Wings are too old. They are so dependent on their only good players Draper, Maltby, Holmstrom, McCarty, Lidstrom, and Howe. Once they retire in a few years the younger teammates can kiss winning a game goodbye. Osgood sucks. They lost Hossa who had a very important 40 regular season goals, therefore they can't win the Cup if they can't make up those 40 goals. My prediction: Wings finish 0-82.

Even if Chelios does to go to play for any other team what is he gonna do with his two Cheli's Chilis? I think he should be a conditioning coach for the Wings because he is insane at working out.

Don't worry guys...it's gonna be okay. I figured out the problem. I have a countdown going on where I cross off the days till the first game. This morning I realized that I messed up at some point because I had 4 days when it was really supposed to be 5 days today. This matter has been corrected so now the good karma will come back.

Will their fantastic 2009 playoff performance be featured?

Personally I like sitting toward the middle. First few rows in the upper bowl or the last few rows of the lower bowl. If you get too close then you can't really see the play when it goes into the boards.
