Wow, a completely new argument that I have never seen before!!! Maybe on paper last year's roster was better. But let's not forget that Hossa is injured now anyway and he sucked in the playoffs and that Samuelsson and Hudler won't be as good this year without the Wings. Let's also add that we have enough scorers on the team. We needed some physical players and now we have Bertuzzi. We are gonna have to wait till October 2nd and find out if it worked.

Since there's only 16 days left to go before hockey returns and I can't stop thinking about it, I am most looking forward to watching Datsyuk possibly break 100 points this season. What about you guys?

We retained the majority of our key players. "Rebuilding year" is the opposite of the term "Cup contending year." Earlier you said that Columbus and Detroit are in the same position. If you really think so, then I guess I can't help you. But being a mediocre team fresh off your first playoff experience ever even though you won no games and never held the lead is not the same as the Red Wings situation. Columbus's situation is to figure out a way to get back to the playoffs and actually win some games. The Detroit goal is to win the Cup and nothing less. That is not the same.

I don't get the age argument. Cheli is gone now, and even last year he barely played. So why is he that much of a factor? Lidstrom, Draper, Maltby, and Holmstrom are old. I'll give you that. But we have young guys coming up from the minors full time and our oldest player is gone. Yet we are still too old.

Good nicknames are not something you actively go out to create. They happen on their own.

i like those suggestions. To me the four most important rule issues are: Make every play reviewable. Or at least give one or two challenges to each coach per game. Get rid of the trapezoid. Establish clear black and white rules for what is goalie interference. Do the player's feet have to absolutely be out of the crease? Can a player make any kind of contact with the goalie? What if the player isn't in the crease? What if the goalie isn't completely in the crease? Define what exactly "inhibits the goalie from making the save." What if the goalie initiates contact? Then enforce the same rules for every player. No back to back games in the playoffs is also a must.

Chicago will be a huge disappointment this year.

Absolutely. Last year's theme song, "Ready to Roll" was my favorite workout song during the playoffs. Now I still can't listen to it ever. I still haven't seen any pics of Pens players with the Cup. I won't look at them till after we win this year.

No he forfeited his class when he fake-retired and just left his team out there like that. Captains don't do that. And Datsyuk needs to be on the list. He won the Lady Byng like 4 times already.

I am 20 years old. I have never beat up anyone before. I am respectful to all people, especially adults. My friends are all between the ages of 19 and 22. They haven't assaulted anyone before either. It's really not that normal for a 20 year old to beat up an old man.

I think what pisses me off the most is that Kane is still going to be the little media darling. Now that Pittsburgh won their Stanley Cup, you know the NHL wants nothing more than to have Chicago win it and Kane sitting like a little cherry on top. He will still be on the cover of the video game. He will still be in commercials. And NBC and VS will still encourage little kids to look up to him.
